I'm a newbie...created a login after I chanced upon your story actually... I simply loved the part 52...it was very sad n poignant but necessary for natural progression of the story....am not allowed to post links but a song that summed up Maan and Geet's pain of separation was "Khaireyaan de naal" by Shafqat Amaanat Ali....

It has wonderful lyrics abt how Heer is telling her Mom not to send her to foreignland since the guy who she has lost her heart, her Ranjha, is in this place so she doesnt want to wed n go across the river... it kind of very beautifully tells what Heer and Ranjha mean to each other...who appear like common ordinary beings to others...Would love if you heard the song n use it sometime in your story...just to show how they both pined for each other during this separation as a flashback maybe....
