Chapter 2
Mayank's POV.
I opened the door to the archive room and was just about to walk through it, when someone called my name.
"Mayank! Come here for a second".
I closed the door and walked over to the person calling for me.
Nupur's POV.
I opened my eyes, turning my head around confusedly.
The door was closed again.
I fell back towards the wall, putting the back of my hand to my forehead.
Someone up there must love me!
I tip-toed towards the door, peeking out through it.
The coast was clear to my right, but when I turned my head to my left I saw three people standing there.
I gasped and hid behind the door again.
"Whyyyyyy???" I hissed, stomping my feet frustratedly.
I peeked out again, frowning.
Maybe, if I just walked out of there, pretending like there was nothing wrong, then they wouldn't care?
I threw my hair back, taking a deep breath.
I then opened the door, and started walking through the corridor.
I tried to control my feet, but they kept wobbling. I looked over my shoulder and saw that the people were still standing there.
They didn't seem to really notice me, but one of them suddenly looked at me, knitting his eyesbrows together.
I turned back around and started walking faster, nearly running now.
When I rounded the corner, I leaned my back against the wall, exhaling, peeking around the corner.
To my big despair I saw that guy walking towards me.
I pulled my head away from the corner and snuck away, cursing silently to myself.
I tried to make as little noise as possible as I made my way through the corridors.
I had never before noticed how big our college was! I couldn't find the entrance!
"Stupid-college-where-everything-looks-the-same!" I bursted out, hiding behind a sculpture.
I looked up and saw that it was a sculpture representing honesty, and hard work.
I exhaled in disbelief, glaring at it angrily.
"Oh, shut up..." I mumbled, then started running again.
I ran towards the end of a corridor and rounded the corner, when suddenly someone jumped out infront of me.
I screamed at the top of my lungs and jumped away, landing in a Jackie Chan-pose I had seen on TV.
"Don't come near me!" I exclaimed sharply, "I don't want to hurt you!"
The boy completely ignored my intimidating pose, grabbed my shoulders and pushed me against the wall.
My eyes widened and I flickered my eyes around at his face.
"What are you doing?! Watch out or I'll report you for sexual assault!" I threatened.
"Then I will report you for trespassing..." he replied calmly.
I looked into his eyes, stunned at first, but then I changed back to my serious facial expression.
"W-what are you talking about?" I tried to sound nonchalant, "I have every right to be here".
"Only I and the teachers have the key to the archive room" he said.
I pursed my lips together, trying my best to sink through the wall.
It didn't work too well, unfortunately.
"Yeah, well..." I swallowed, "what makes you think that I was in the archive room, huh?"
I raised my eyebrows, pursing my lips to the left.
"Because I saw you walking out of there" he replied.
I opened my mouth to speak, but ended up clearing my throat instead.
"Your eyes must've deceived you, because I was... just here to check out that sculpture over there".
He turned his head and looked at the sculpture I was pointing at.
I mentally slapped myself across the face, trying to stand my ground.
That excuse wasn't really the best one in the world.
He looked back at me.
"Oh, really? You're claiming that you were here, at college, late at night, because of that sculpture?"
I cleared my throat and nodded.
"It, uh... has a great meaning to it" I said, "hardwork and... honesty".
I bit my lowerlip and looked away after I had said the last word.
I forced a polite smile and chuckled.
"Now, if you'll excuse me I want to go home".
Mayank's POV.
I blocked her way when she was trying to leave. I stared sharply into her eyes.
"Do you really think I can let you leave, knowing that you've comittted a crime?" I mumbled.
She tilted her head and looked at me devistatedly.
"Yes?" she replied with a hopeful tone of voice.
I sniffed, shaking my head.
"What were you even doing in there?" I asked, "let me guess... you forgot to study for an important test and now you're trying to cheat your way through it?"
She put her palm to her chest, obviously putting on a face that was supposed to look hurt.
"How dare you accuse me of something like that?" she frowned, "now I don't want to talk to you anymore, goodbye!"
I once again blocked her way. I leaned closer to her face.
"I'll let you leave this place, without any marks..."
Her face lit up and she looked at me happily, just about to say something...
"On ONE condition..." I continued.
She stopped in the middle of the movement, closing her mouth.
"What condition?" she mumbled.
I leaned even closer, our faces only inches apart.
"Teach me about love..." I replied.
Her face suddenly looked completely terrified and she tried to get away by hitting my chest.
"What are you?! A pervert?!" she yelled, "get away from me!"
I grabbed her hands and made her calm down.
Geez, she was so loud!
I thought back on the moment when that angel had walked passed me in the corridor.
I wanted to meet her again...
But I had no idea how to court a girl! I didn't know how to make them like me!
"I am only asking you to give me some pointers about dating" I said, "don't take this the wrong way!"
She frowned, once again trying to get away from me.
"You are SO weird!" she exclaimed, "how can a good-looking...-"
She stopped talking, cleared her throat and refrased her sentence.
"How can a GUY like you not know about love? I'm sure you've had hundreds of girlfriends".
"It's not that I don't have girls after me... and thank you for the compliment by the way" I replied, watching her look down embarassedly, "but I just don't understand the unwritten laws involved! Everyone makes it so complicated".
She exhaled, looking into my eyes.
"Love is complicated..." she mumbled, "that's just the way it is! Live with it!"
Her attempts to get away from me was getting tiring.
"I just need to know the essential things" I said, "and if you don't want me to tell the principal about your nightly adventures in the forbidden archive room... I suggest you agree to be my teacher!"
She exhaled in disbelief, opening and closing her mouth.
"Fine..." she mumbled after a while, "but don't think I'll do it for free!"
I raised my eyebrows.
"You're memory is short, isn't it?" I mumbled, "let me remind you: Forbidden-archive-room... Principal... hard-punishment..."
She bit her lowerlip, realizing once more that I had the upperhand here.
I leaned away from her, releasing her from my grip.
She stepped away from me sideways, adjusting her jacket.
"It was nice meeting you, Mr. Weirdo..." she said, "but I will walk away now, pretending like this evening never happened".
She smiled and turned around.
"Hey... Criminal!" I called.
She halted, turning around slowly.
"I'm going to need your phone number..." I waved my cellphone infront of me.
She frowned, putting her hands on her hips.
She took up her cellphone from her pocket and reluctantly held it out towards me.
I walked over to her and grabbed it from her hands... or atleast after she decided to finally let it go.
She impatiently tapped her toes against the floor while she waited for me to finish.
When I was done, she snatched her cellphone away from me and started marsching away.
I also turned around and headed back towards the archive room.
"Oh, and just so we're clear..."
I turned around when I heard her speaking.
"Being teached by me..." she began, smiling maliciously, "will NOT be merciful!"
She started walking away again.
I raised my eyebrows.
I then chuckled and wondered how long it would take before she realized that that corridor was a dead end.
