SR FF - Kuch Khaas - Chap 26 pg 87 - Page 19

Suddenly straightening up when his thoughts moved to Natasha (who was still sleeping even tho it wz nearly 1 PM) he decided to go and visit Riddhima for some time. It had been quite some time sins the exciting food/water/shoe fight and he hadn't seen Ridzy since, school being out and all.

"Sue!" He yelled in direction of the staircase. (knowing that Natasha wouldn't wake up anyway). "Mein Ridz aur Shilpa ki taraf jaa raha hoon! Tum ne aana hai?"

Sue's face showed up by the railing. "Nahi, mein ne nahi jaana. Shilpa's right here." And to Sid's surprise Shilpa came over and waved at him from above. "Hey Sid bhai!"

Sid: When did you even get here?

Shilpa: Ummm, about an hour ago, was it?

Sue: Yup! About an hour ago! Superboy, do you want us to come with you?

Sid (in surprise): Not really. If you want to then it's fine, but I'm sure I can manage a conversation with Riddhima on my own.

Shilpa (to herself): I bet you can. (Out loud) Okay, b-bye then!

Riddhima was just lazing around in her bedroom, sometimes sitting, sometimes laying down, sometimes pacing around, or just standing by the window watching the wintry world. But always her thoughts were the same: the way Sid had held her the previous day when she fell in his arms..... the way his voice had been all concerned and husky.... his smoldering eyes gazing into hers.....

Suddenly she sat up bolt upright on her bed.
Ridzy: WHAT THE HELL AM I THINKING????? Stop, stop! Focus now, FOCUS. Think of something else! Where's Shilpa? Oh yeah she's gone over to Sue's. Why didn't I go? Oh yeah, I wanted to fix the place. But isn't the place fixed? Wait, I cleaned everything yesterday. Should I go cook? Yes, maybe. Or maybe I should just go over to see Si - I mean I should go over to pick Shilpa. Yeah, that's better!

She stood up and suddenly felt dizzy. Why? Oh yeah, because she hadn't had any breakfast OR lunch OR had anything to drink since yesterday evening1 That was like almost twenty hours ago! Where had the day gone? What had she been doing for the past 4 and a half hours?

Just as she had been about to grab her coat to go to Si- I mean to go pick up Shilpu, the doorbell. Irritated, she wrenched open the door, wondering who it could be, and hoping it was Si- err Shilpa coming back. As she opened the door, all prepared to yell at Shilpa (for no reason whatsoever) she saw it was Sid!

Sid was so happy and pleased to see her again after so long, that he just walked right in and hugged her. He realized that he had been missing her these past few days. He said lightly, "Hey sweetheart. How's it going?"

Smiling, Ridzy replied, "I'm fine darling. Tum batao."

Grinning, Sid pulled away. 'You have no idea how boring it is when someone you want to go away DOESN'T go away, and your sister keeps ditching you so that you HAVE to be irritated by the person. AND you haven't met ANY of your friends during the torturous time period. I just had to take a break!"

Leading Sid to the kitchen a bit slowly (she was still a bit unsteady from all the no food/water thing) Riddhima asked, "And you came here?"

"Well, yeah," said Sid, then thinking of teasing her, he added. "Natasha would think it a bit weird if I don't go visit my girlfriend after so many days of seperation!"

Blushing for some unknown reason, Riddhima punched him lightly. "Liar. Woh to khush ho gayio ho gi ke tum mujhe bhool gaye ho."

"True," said Sid leaning against the counter. "But I just wanted to come visit you. Tum se milne ka mann kar raha tha. Why, didn't you miss me?" :P

"Tum jaise bande ko koi kyun miss karre ga, Mr I'm so Cool?" said Riddhima, taking revenge. "i was enjoying a nice peaceful time without you!"

Pretending to look hurt, Sid said, "Awww, I'm so sorry! Main abhi chala jata hoon! Lekin.... zarra kuch khane ke baad...."

Laughing, Riddhima started preparing some food for herself and Sid. As she was holding a spoon, she realised that her hands had suddenly gotten very sweaty, which was a bit weird, regarding the cold and everything. Then, without any warning at all, everything suddenly started going black and she dropped the spoon.

Hearing the clatter of the spoon and then seeing Riddhima holding her head, Sid immediately knew something was wrong.

"Riddhima, kya hua? Are you alright?" he asked loudly.

"I..... can't.....see....." said Riddhima faintly. And, right then, she collapsed to the ground, knees first. (Guess eating nothing for the past almost-20-hours does have it's effects, if even slightly 😆😛)

Immediately, Sid knelt to the ground beside her, worried. "Riddhima? Riddhima utho!" When trying to wake her by shaking her didn't work, he scratched his head, thinking what to do next. His anxiety increased when he felt her pulse and felt that it was quite slow. Thinking that it would be probably best to make her lie down until she gained consciousness, he acted accordingly.

Sue and Shilpa were crawling against the railing and down the stairs so as to not be spotted by Natasha.

Shilpa (whispering): Sue, hum yeh kyun kar rahe hain?

Sue (also whispering): Arre idiot! Hum Natasha se chhup rahe hain!

Shilpa: Lekin isn't she sleeping??

Sue: NO! I can hear her blow-dryer. Tumhe sunai nahi de raha?

And indeed Shilpa could distinctly hear the unmistakable sound of a blow-dryer going on.

Shilpa: Lekin hum chhup kyun rahe hain? Is there any reason?

Sue: Yes! She'll interrogate us about where Sid is!! And if we tell her she'll immediately head off there!

Shilpa: Ohhhhh right. But where are we going?

Sue: To see what those two are up to?

Shilpa: Mission Siddhima? (They reached the bottom of the stairs, got up from their crawling position, and then hurriedly backed up against the wall)

Sue: Bilkul! Mission Siddhim - Wait what? I thought we had agreed it would be Riddhant?

Shilpa: Yeh kab ki baat hai????

Sue: Kal? Remember?

Shilpa: But you said Siddhima!

Sue: I said Riddhant!

Shilpa: Siddhima!

Sue: Riddhant!

Natasha: Sue! What are you doing against the wall like that? And can you please tell me where Siddy boy is?

Both of them had been so caught up in their Siddhima vs Riddhant thing that they hadn't even noticed Natasha. Now, hearing Natasha's inquiry, Shilpa nearly puked at 'Siddy boy'. Who calls their ex that???????

Sue hastened to change the subject, "Oh Sid? I'm not sure...... he said he was going out for some fresh air but I don't really know where he is now. And his phone's switched off too."

Sue said this in a really masoom voice but Natasha looked at her suspiciously, "Oh really?"

Sue opened her eyes wide in an attempt to look honest, "Yes Natasha! Honestly!"

Shilpa came to the rescue, "Umm, Natasha are you interested in make-up? I know this really cool place where you can get original Sephora stuff! At great prices! C'mon!" Without waiting for an answer, Shilpa grabbed Natasha's wrist in one hand and pulled Sue with the other. As she nearly forced the two in the car, she whispered to Sue, "I still say Siddhima."

Sid lifted Riddhima up in his arms easily, took her to her bedroom and laid her down on the bed against some pillows. He sprinkled some water on her face lightly. When she still didn't wake up he sat down beside her, about next to her middle and started stroking her face gently with his wet hand. (Note: At this time the distance between SR's faces is about 2 feet. What did you think? Two inches? Kya gande sochein hain tum logon ki 😲!)

It was after a few moments that he realized exactly what he was doing. Trying to ignore his thoughts on what Sue would say if she came barging in right now, he just stroked Riddhima's hair fondly, willing her to wake up quickly.

Spotting a long piece of light blue thread in her hair, Sid bent his head low and tried to remove it. But the irritating thread was firmly entangled in her hair (we all know how that is. Or I do at least). Trying to remove it (God knows why Sid got suddenly obsessed in this task), but being careful not to hurt Ridzy, Sid got even closer and finally removed it. That was when he realized the full proximity of their closeness. But it didn't occur to our superboy to move away. Nothing occurred at all, except an unresistable urge to stroke her serene face. Overwhelmed by some unknown force that wanted to pull him even closer to Riddhima, Sid held Riddhima's sleeping face in both of his hands, reducing the distance between them to barely one inch...... (dekha kya kar dia tum nikammiyon ne mujhe? Hmph)

At a very crucial (ahem ahem) moment, Riddhima's eyelids flickered, but didn't quite open. The movement brought Sid back to his senses (NOOOO) and he moved back slowly, letting go of her face and thinking what came over him. That was when Riddhima suddenly started moaning.

Thinking that maybe she had gotten hurt when she fell, Sid got concerned and said in an urgent voice, "Riddhima kya hua? Are you hurt?"

"No please," said Riddhima, her eyes still shut and her voice shaking. "Please just leave me!"

"What?" asked Sid, confused. "Okay, fine, maine tumhe choda hai....."

"No, stop!" said Riddhima, her face contorted with some invisible pain. "STOP PLEASE! SOMEONE HELP! HELP!!!"

Realising that probably she was having some sort of nightmare (even though she wasn't sleeping. Right?), Sid decided he should just wake her up. "RIDDHIMA, UTHO! SNAP OUT IT!"

Riddhima's eyes opened in shock, and tears started streaming down her cheeks, as she once again re-lived the horror of that wretched night. Crying even harder in her relief when she saw that she was home...... with Sid.... safe, she broke down completely and started sobbing.

Surprised at this reaction to a nightmare Sid said, "It's alright Riddhima, don't cry! It was just a dream." Holding out his arms to comfort her, he was amazed when Riddhima threw herself right into his arms and started crying on his shoulder. "I wish it was!" she whispered through her sobs, actually to herself but Sid heard her anyway. Thinking that he should probably just remain silent now, he hugged Riddhima consolingly, stroking her hair while she cried herself out.

They remained in this position until Riddhima's sobs quietened until they vanished altogether in the arms where she found solace, felt protected.......safe......comfortable even. Embarassed at her outburst, Riddhima broke away from Sid, not meeting his eyes. "I'm sorry. I just..... lost control."

Looking at her red eyes Sid put one hand on her cheek and said, "Don't apologise. Remember, no sorry no thank you."

Riddhima gave a watery smile and got up from the bed. But she stumbled again as her legs felt too weak to support her. Sid came to her aid once again, grabbing her by her waist before she fell again.

When Riddhima eyes met his, for a moment it was just the two of them, nothing else. But then Sid made her sit down and went to get some food and water for her.

When he went out of the room, Riddhima tried to forget her horrific flashback/nightmare and concentrated on something else. Why did she feel so safe with Sid? Why was he so good to her? And why, for heaven's sake, did she feel as if she could feel his touch on her face and feel his face close to hers? What in the world was going on?
