I agree with the fact that she did not trust her husband. But what did her husband do after the kissed, he just looked at Gauri, whispered whatever in Thalia's ears n disappeared.

Secondly, we also have to look at Gauri n Shiv's background. Gauri almost never had a boyfriend, she is not what you would call out there...she always had fights with Shiv, Shashank left her..which brought up her fears n insecurities...+ Shiv n his Casanova image.

Any girl would have insecurities n second thoughts....Gauri had a wall build up outside of her as a coping mechanism for her insecurities...after marrying Shiv n their intimate encounters...the wall was crumbling little by little...she was feeling for him, able to trust him..see his good side, his cares n concens she has just started to trust this guy....from her ❤️ (heart) n what happens??

The Kiss!!!

Just imagine...after all that resistance that she was facing within herself, her mind n her heart...she finally thought she would be able to let go of her fears n insecurities and let her guard down...n just sigh.....n accept that yes....finally she has found a match for her to last a life time....n the Kiss....happened.

It is natural for the body's fight n flight to respond even without a person being aware of it...a person will do what comes to their mind first...to try n save themselves from the pain, rejection, insecurity, fear..etc. It is all a game to save yourself from feeling vulnerable.

I can totally understand why she needed to take that step. I personally mite not be so drastic, but this is Gauri we r talking about....

Shiv is more open...he communicates, he knows how Gauri is...he felt for her way before she felt for him....he could have been more understandable.....

Is Gauri at fault?

It was a chain reaction, one thing lead to another...she did exactly what a normal person would do.

So Shiv said something to Thalia after the kiss and walked out. What should he have done? Create an even bigger scene? Grabbed Gauri and haul her outta there?

Yes, Gauri has quite a bit less experience than Shiv. But why swing so far to the revenge side? What indication lately had Shiv given that he was interest in anyone else? Hadn't he been in her arms and bed every night? Instead of coming out and asking him about it, Garui made an incorrect assumption and it has cost her - big time.

Just my POV... I think it has a lot to do with if you are a jealous person by nature. Gauri is and I am not. Perhaps this is why I find the fault with her.

Devi - Don't you just love how we spend so much time analyzing people who don't exist? I bet you secretly analyze all of us stalkers. Do tell, who is the craziest of the bunch? No worries, I won't be offended if you say me. It will just confirm everything my children believe about me.😆

I do not believe it was jealousy. Low self-esteem n low confidence is a major one yaar (Don get me wrong, not in all areas of her life, only where intimacy, love n trust r concerned). U try to hide ur hurts, fears n insecurities. U have this mask on your face, n wall sourrounding you....you are hard as a rock on the outside, but melt instantly on the inside.... u make the world believe that u r strong n nothing can break u down, but at the same time you are breaking down each n every moment.. Your only strenght is that fake mask and that wall ....around u.

Sometimes the fear is so deeply rooted...that it takes time....enough time for a person to trust....once again...she already went through that with Shaan (I like that name Devi)....n after the kiss...it was natural......

Just to give an example, a child throws a tantrum to get attention and to see how far they can push an adult. I think in many ways, no matter what the age, in a situation that is new/unfamiliar to us one of our first instintics is to test out that feeling or situation, liking dipping our toes in the water before jumping into it.

I feel that guari was figuring out her emotions, but instead of testing out her own feelings and taking a chance with him, she wanted to test him first, test his feelings and with what she felt was his indifference/ his failure of the test, she broke.

Shiv saw her actions as a betrayal and later as a proof that she was not in love with him. He therefore did not feel the need to inform her of the truth either way.

I am not saying either was right, neither one of them can be because that is the crux in representing human emotion, emotion just is.

Relationships r not games where we test d opponent's skills. SG r married. How many women has he been after marriage? Wat has he done that G wants 2 test him, that kiss?

Agreed that G is inexperienced and insecure abt love etc but her reaction was over d top and drastic. She could've adopted a different course of action. Plus v shouldn't forget that Shiv had already told G that he is not ready for divorce.

Shiv has never been fake. So he if says he wants 2 keep this marriage then it does mean something.

Wat Gauri did was rash. U could call it being oversmart.

They have only been married for 6 months, let's not forget. And I agree with you, she has known him for eternity - she has known that he is very talented when it comes to making women fall for him... on her wedding day itself, she met a woman crying over him in the restroom... so, i don't think it's necessarily a case of low self-confidence that she has cause to not just blindly trust Shiv. It's easy for him to trust her, what does she really have to hide? But even with that, look at how his thoughts quickly went to how Gauri wanted Shashank back.... even though it makes not a lick of sense.

Trust is earned, not just given - particularly when you have personalities like these two. I think in her case, she would be a fool to just trust him because they have been intimate physically. If anything, that would make a woman like her feel more vulnerable because she has given so much of her to him...

And a person with Gauri's inexperience and temperament will likely react just the way she did. If she was "oversmart" there, she is likely oversmart with everything else too... including everything that comes out of her mouth. You gotta take the good with the bad...

P.S. Relationships are not a game, agreed. But to a certain degree, romance certainly is...

@saomom: It's a good thing you are not the jealous type :) Neither was Gauri with Shashank - in fact, she was as understanding as can be, given all the times he had to go take care of Thalia. It's only when it comes to Shiv that she loses her marbles. Now you see why she wonders which one is better to be married to... Shashank would certainly make it easier for her... :)

@Water and blueangel: Thank you for your deconstruction of Gauri's POV... I think you both said it better than Gauri would ever.. :)

PPS. Lol... I have stopped analyzing people unless they pay my hourly rate for doing so... 😉
