I cant believe Geet talked to Vicky abt Maan not being close to her. I started to laugh when Vicky said "too much information" abt the towel scene. hehehe it was funny n cute in a way

Waiting for the nxt update. Are you going to develop Meera and Vicky's story too?

Nothing Can Keep Us Apart

Part 93 - Why now?

"Vicky, get out of my room!"

"Why?"

"Why? You stupid boy, because I'm packing my clothes!"

"What difference does that make?"

Meera looked at Vicky like he was crazy and said, "I'm a girl. You're a boy. You don't think that I might have some clothing items I don't want you looking at?"

"Really? What items might those be?"

"Out. Get out!" Meera grabbed Vicky's arm, pulling him off her bed and shoved him towards her door. "Get out, get out, get out, GET OUT!"

As soon as he was in the hall, Meera slammed the door and locked it. She blew out a frustrated breath, and then moved back to her packing. On the other side of the door, Vicky smirked at the rise he had gotten out of her, and he wasn't done yet.

"Hello," said Meera, as she answered her cellphone that had been ringing just moments earlier.

"You didn't think you could get rid of me that easily, did you M?"

"Vicky, I swear, you are the most annoying boy ever! You leave me alone, or I'll have dad throw you out."

"Don't be silly. Uncle thinks I'm wonderful. He'll never throw me out."

"He will if I tell him you're misbehaving with his daughter."

"M! You would malign my reputation? I'm shocked! What kind of friend are you?"

"Vicky," groaned Meera, "Why can't you leave me alone? I'm busy!"

"M, you're going to be gone for 3 years. Can you blame me if I want to spend some time with you before you go? Anyway, I'm just talking to you on the phone."

"And if I've got a phone in my hand, how do you expect me to do my packing?"

"Put it on speaker."

"Fine!"

"So, since tomorrow is your last night before you leave for America, we really should do something. Let's call the whole gang and go out to our favorite club."

"I don't know, Vicky. I've got a lot to do before I leave."

"Come on, M. You're the most over-prepared person I know. You can't tell me that you won't have everything ready and double checked, way before you have to leave."

"Yes, but...."

"What but?"

"I can't stay out too late, and no alcohol."

"Are you kidding? If Bhabi caught me drinking, I'd be skinned alive. Only soft drinks, I promise."

"Alright, then."

****************

"Come on, M. Admit you had a good time."

"Yeah, it was fun. Right up until you made a scene!" Meera crossed her arms over her chest and refused to look at Vicky, who was driving them back home from the club. They had already dropped the rest off their friends, and it was only the two of them now.

"I did not make a scene."

"Oh, really! And what do you call telling everyone that I'm your girl?"

"Well, how else was I supposed to get rid of that ape without getting into a fight?"

"Vicky, we were just dancing. What was the big deal?"

"I didn't like how he was looking at you, or the way he was dancing so close to you."

"OMG! We were at a club. Everyone was dancing, you included. In fact, I'm pretty sure I saw you dancing with that stupid girl in red who was drooling all over you as soon as we got there. So, I really don't get what your problem was."

"Well, if you can't tell the difference between a person and a cockroach, then I really don't think you should be going off to America, that too alone."

"Oh, please, Vicky, do not start that again. Anyway, where exactly are you going?" Meera looked out the window of the car, trying to determine where they were. "I thought you were taking me home."

"I am. We're just going the long way."

"And that long way includes going in the opposite direction of home? If you're planing to kidnap me, dad really will have your head."

"M, can you just stop complaining for awhile and enjoy? Anyway, we're here." Vicky slowed the car, and pulled off to the side of the road. He got out and went around to the other side to help Meera out, before leading her into the forested area.

"Where exactly are we, anyway?"

"You don't recognize it?"

"Stupid! If I did, would I need to ask you?"

Vicky led Meera into a small clearing that had a pond surrounded by wild flowers, with the moon reflecting beautifully on the still water. "Recognize it now?"

"Here? But, I've never come this way. How did you know where to go?"

"Oh, I found this way in a few days after we first found this place."

Meera gave Vicky an annoyed look, and complained, "You found a secret way into our secret place, and didn't tell me? Some friend you are."

Meera walked off a little way from where Vicky was standing, clearly giving off "I'm annoyed with you" signals. Vicky watched as she bent down to pick some of the flowers and put them in her hair. Meera had always been a beautiful girl, but seeing her dressed in a lovely pink kurti and matching churidar, with the moon shinning on her, Vicky thought that she was looking especially gorgeous. No wonder all the men at the club had been panting after her the whole time they were there. Just thinking about it made Vicky want to go back and beat up every single one of them. He knew what those jerks had been thinking when they looked at her, especially that creep he had scared off. His M deserved much better than those morons. She deserved the best.

"M, do you really have to leave?"

"Yes, Vicky. New York School of Interior Design is really hard to get in to, and interior design is something that I've wanted to do for a long time. With your desire to become an actor, you should understand how I feel."

"But, three years is a long time. How am I going to do without you?"

"Oh, please. You'll have no problems being without me. Remember your little 9 month jaunt off into the real world? You didn't seem to miss me then."

"That was different, M. I plead temporary insanity, due to acute fear of Veerji."

"Well, in any case, we can phone each other and visit during our breaks. Three years isn't a life time."

"Says the girl who is ditching us for foreign shores."

Vicky sounded so forlorn that Meera couldn't help but laugh, and finally turned around towards him. As she turned, her foot slipped on a loose rock and she started to fall backwards toward the pond. Expecting to be drenched within seconds, Meera instead felt strong arms close around her and pull her back up, away from the cool water below.

Vicky had only acted on instinct, moving with quick speed to save his friend from a fall. Once Meera was in his arms, those same instincts prompted him to close the short distance between them. As soon as his lips touched hers, he knew that this was the reason he had brought her to their secret place. This was the reason he had wanted to rearrange the face of every man that had looked at her at the club. This was the reason he didn't want her to leave.

For about two seconds, Meera was shocked beyond belief. Then the warmth and pleasure she felt everywhere Vicky touched her, but especially from his kiss, overwhelmed her, robbing her of all rational thought. She had been kissed a few times over the years by some of the boys she had dated, but they had either left her feeling nothing, or a slight distaste. Vicky's kiss was different. Until now, she had never known that you could feel a kiss in your toes, or that it could be sweet and gentle, yet demanding at the same time. Who knew that kissing your best friend could be so wonderful?

Neither Vicky nor Meera had any idea about how much time passed while they were in each other's arms. Only after the call of a nearby bird startled them, did they break apart. Meera looked dazed for a few seconds and then she seemed to come back to herself. Her eyes widened and her hand flew to her mouth, as she began to comprehend what had actually happened between them.

"Why did you do that?" she asked, looking at Vicky, her upset clearly visible in the moonlight.

"M..."

"Why did you kiss me now? I'm leaving tomorrow! I'll be gone for three years! Nothing can come from this. We won't be able to see each other, or spend time together. If you had to kiss me, why couldn't you have done it weeks or months ago? Why now? Why now, just when I'm leaving India?"

"M, calm down. You yourself said that we could phone each other and visit on our breaks, and you forgot one thing. With the modern miracle of technology, we have something called video chat, which is almost as good as seeing each other in person." Seeing Meera's downcast face, Vicky placed his hands on her shoulders and slowly drew her back to him. "Am I right in thinking that you didn't object to my kissing you, only the time I picked to do it?"

Meera nodded shyly, and then asked again, "Did you have to wait to do it so late?"

"Better late, than never," replied Vicky, as he leaned down, once more touching her silky lips with his own.

Part 94 - Justice Finished

Indian News

Life for Khuranas

All of Delhi is familiar with the infamous fake NRI marriage case involving the wealthy and well known Khurana family. Subsequent to receiving their sentence, Dev and Naintara Khurana filed an appeal, as well as insisting an investigation be made regarding their allegations of corruption against Maan Khurana and the Delhi police department. After weeks of fighting the court's decision, the Khuranas lost their appeal, and were transported back to Mumbai, where they had to face another trial in which they, along with others, were accused of drug trafficking.

Only yesterday, Judge Shreerang Gupta handed down a guilty verdict and life sentences to Dev Khurana, Mumbai socialites Aasha and Panna Khanna , and international businessman Garjan Khan. Naintara Khurana was given double life sentences for her part in the drug trafficking as well as the attempted murder of Mr. and Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana. The guilty verdicts were made possible in large part due to the undercover efforts of API Shekhar Patil.

"We are extremely proud of the work API Patil has done as a member of the Mumbai police force, and particularly in this anti-narcotics case," said APC Ramchandra Pandey, when questioned. "Working undercover is difficult and very dangerous. API Patil not only gathered crucial evidence necessary to shut down a high society drug ring, but exposed a plot to murder members of one of Delhi's oldest families. We hope to send a message to all criminals that we will not tolerate illegal drugs, nor murder or any other crime."

It seems the only issue left to be resolved in this saga is the police corruption investigation. The CBI has yet to finish its investigation, but an anonymous source in the Anti Corruption Division has told us that the allegations appear to be baseless, and that the investigation will soon conclude, and the Khuranas and the Delhi police department will be exonerated.

So, I am officially angry with Tinypic. They just randomly decided to delete my pictures, and cause me no end of headache. I've replaced some of the pics, but I'll have to do the rest later. In the mean time....

Extra - Naintara's downfall.

So who is really responsible for Dev and Naintara being caught, and finally brought to justice? Here's an important clue from a few updates ago.

As the reporters continued to announce who was arriving, and giving the audience interesting and juicy details about the live of all the famous people, in another city, many miles away, a young woman was watching the coverage. She had not been expecting to see anything she would find important when she turned on the tv, but as soon as she recognized what it was that she was seeing and hearing, her mind sprang into action. If she was going to achieve her goals, a new plan had to be made. Quickly turning off the tv, to prevent others from seeing what she saw, she began to think.

This was part of the update for Pari's sangeet. I'm not sure how many of you figured it out, or even noticed, but the "young woman" was Naintara. It was from watching the tv coverage that she found out that Maan and Geet were married, and that Geet was still pregnant. That is when she decided to hire someone to kill them. Her plan was to have them killed, then she and Dev would go back to Delhi, sell a sob story of their innocence to Dadima, and then take over the Khurana empire. As you know, things did not go as she planned.

Ultimately it was Naintara's greed that all along caused everything. It was her greed that motivated the fake marriage, that got Dev and her into the drug business, and that eventually got them caught by the police. Poetic justice, I think.
