Part 20

Sameer dropped Geet at her home. Pinkey and Shasha were in their own room.

Geet directly went to her room as she was apprehensive about talking, she got ready to sleep but sleep was reluctant to touch her eyes.

Her entire life was flashing in front of her eyes, she was baffled, she wasn't sure about her feelings, and she was reluctant to believe that somebody could love her a lot.

"Babaji, why do you put me in these circumstances, I don't know who is right one for me, I liked Maan when I was a teenager, but it was a long time ago, I am not sure that it was just liking or something else, the kind of admiration I have for Sameer is inexplicable, I know what matters in love is who loves you, rather than whom you love, I am not sure about my feelings for Sameer, Sameer is a nice guy and I know that my life will be happy with him, he will take care of me, I know for sure, but I don't know what I want from my life, first I have to figure out my own life, but life is like a long dark tunnel where I can't see a distant future through my naked eyes, I need some light or some support which could help to cover that distance, and that support could be Sameer. I am waiting for one sign from you which could lead my path, I am waiting for sunrays to touch my eyes with positive outlook, I am waiting for Moon to stare at me with answers."Geet says.

Geet was savoring all kinds of known and unknown emotions, which were no longer in her control.

She got little sleep last night, and she woke up early morning, she went to kitchen to make some tea for herself and she got surprised to see Shasha in the kitchen so early.

"Shahsa, what are you doing here at this time."Geet asks.

"Geet, oh I thought to go for jogging right now, but what are you doing here right now? Do you also want to go for a jog?"Shasha asks.

"Hmm, sounds a good idea, but I am in a big dilemma where I am looking for some answers, let me get ready and we will talk over jog."Geet says.

Geet got ready and they both went for a jog.

"So how was last night with Sameer and did you enjoy red fort?"Shasha asks.

"Shasha, I want to tell you about last night, red fort was amazingly pretty, and yesterday Sameer proposed me."Geet said it while rolling her eyes from road to Shasha and Shasha to road, her emotions were moving like a roller coaster which was reflected through her eyes.

Shashas's eyes were wide in shock, she couldn't grasp it for a second, she got freeze and her mouth fell open.

"Geet, it is great news, I am happy for you, oh god, it is amazing, I can't believe it, it happened finally and so soon, great, great, I can't describe how happy I am for you."Shasha said it while her eyes were jumping with happy emotions.

"Geet, you look worried though."Shasha says.

"Shasha, when I came from Hoshiarpur, I didn't know where my life was going, I have accepted the way my life was moving, but now I have to make this decision, and this is the most important decision of my life, but my family who was backbone of my strength is no longer with me, I am here alone, thinking about what to do and what not to do, I miss my family the most, my mom the most, who has always supported me and guided me, my friends who showed me the right way when I was confused, when I left Hoshiarpur, I thought that it was the beginning of a new life, a new life which wouldn't be on rose petals anymore, a new life with full of rocks, but now someone is trying to cover my life with rose petals but now I don't know how rose petals feels, and I am not sure I really deserve it, on one side I feel like I should embrace my new life with open arms and on the other side, I feel like this is an illusion and this illusion will go away when I open my eyes. It is easy when our life is lead by someone else and we just go with the flow, but when the string of our life is given in our hand, I don't know what to do with it, even though we always want to keep string in our hands."Geet says.

"Geet, in life, not everyone gets the happiness, today happiness is knocking at your door, you are still in doubts about opening the door, you are hiding your face under the pillow, open your eyes to see the new world, which is full of roses. I don't want to make a decision for you because I can't as it is your life, and I don't want to frame anything in your mind, it is only you who knows what is better for you but I don't want you to close doors of happiness."Shasha says.

"Geet, god doesn't give chance to everyone to live a new life again, you got that chance so you should appreciate it, you got a chance to live life again, to open the doors of your heart which has been closed, and it is always better to marry a person who loves you more than you could love him back."Shasha says.

After Jogging, Geet and Shasha were sitting on the bench.

After few minutes, Shasha left as she had to run some errands.

Geet kept sitting on the bench.

While thinking about her life, she was silently observing the surrounding, sun was above her in the sky with light morning sun rays, sunlight was covering her face, fresh flowers bloomed around her, and she was enjoying this seclusion as not many people were around at this early morning.

She inhaled the sweet scent of flowers; the beauty of nature brought her a sense of tranquility which could help her forget her own problems for a while.

She found herself staring at her palm and she was observing her lines of destiny, as soon as she was trying to interpret the meaning of lines, a tear drop fell in to her palm, her vision got blurred because of her wet eyes but she was still trying to read lines with blurry vision, of course she couldn't figure out much.

Geet was rolling her eyes from her palm to sky and sky to palm, like she was looking for answers from the sky. Her eyes were full of questions but no answers in it.

"Babaji, is it fate or what? Am I destined to meet Sameer? Am I destined to marry him? What has fate decided for me?"Geet thinks.

She was still staring at the sky with the hope of finding some answers but she couldn't.

Suddenly Maan appeared from nowhere.

Maan goes to jog sometimes and it was his favorite jogging place. He got surprised to see Geet at early morning. He stopped when he saw Geet staring at the sky.

"Hey Geet, what are you doing here? Trying to count number of clouds in the sky" Maan asks.

Geet's eyes rolled towards Maan from sky, she couldn't speak anything; she was just staring at him, not realizing what he was talking. Geet was still lost in her thoughts; Maan was just a blurry vision in front of her eyes. She was hoping that vision would disappear like a rain drop.

Maan waved his hands and Geet noticed him. She got surprised to see Maan at early morning.

"Geet, what were you thinking? You were lost, what happened? Is everything alright? You look pale."Maan was asking her questions continuously.

"Maan, I am trying to figure out some answers but I guess nobody could help me with that."Geet says.

"Geet, tell me your questions, I can't guarantee that I could answer your questions but I can give a shot at it."Maan says.

Geet was hesitant but she framed questions smartly.

"Maan, today I am standing at a point where I have to choose one path which will lead my future, but I am not sure about the correct choice, I am afraid that if I make a wrong decision then it could ruin my life or I would regret my decision, how can I figure out which path is good for me."Geet says.

"Geet, everybody goes through this face when they have to choose right path, I am not going to ask you more in detail until you are ready to share, but considering your question, I could give you one suggestion."Maan says.

Maan took her hands and put it between his hands and told her "Geet, life is simple but people make it complex, or we look at the life with complex perspective, in the evening when people look at sunset, some would say this is the end of the day and some would say they are waiting for the new day, so it depends upon how you look at it, your question could be very simple, and in fact you have the answer but you may not able to accept the answer or you may be afraid of the consequences- good or bad, if you make the right choice, consequences will be good only, ask this question to your heart, it knows the answer, and then keep faith in whatever you decide."Maan says.

Geet was staring at him like he was reading her mind, without saying anything; he understood what she wanted to hear and he told exactly the same thing which she wanted to hear but she was reluctant to accept it.

Geet was feeling little better now. Maan smoothed Geet's pain.

"Geet, what I have learned from my life so far is to make a decision, stand for it, never blame anyone for it and never regret it, we may not know right away that decision is right or wrong but time will prove that, sometimes we make a decision and at the beginning we only find difficulties and pain, so we question our decision, but some time down the line, we feel that actually it was a right decision because sometimes it takes years to realize whether it was right or wrong."Maan says.

Both were staring at each other and completely lost in thought, they were still holding hands without realizing what's going on around them.

"Maan, you really know what to say at the right moment, you are good at it, and yes you are correct, time is the witness of whatever decision we make and our heart will definitely lead us to the right path."Geet says.

In the midst of light sunrays, dark clouds were rising in the sky, and it started raining.

Maan and Geet stood up while trying to cover their body and face with hands but it was useless effort, they didn't carry umbrella, Maan tried to run towards his car and Geet started to run towards her house but Maan stopped her.

"Geet, why do we try to walk away from the situation? Why can't we just appreciate what nature has given to us? Why can't we just enjoy this rain, the love of nature towards us? The way we don't listen to our heart and even if our heart says something, we ignore it like nothing happened, but the fact is walking away from nature is not a solution, cherishing the nature is the right thing to do, so let's enjoy the rain today instead of worrying about consequences."Maan says.

Geet was astonished by hearing this from Maan, as she had always perceived Maan as a strong hot headed person, she didn't know the soft and nurturing side of Maan.

Both stopped running and decided to just stand there and let rain touch their body and feel the innocence of water.
