PART 22

By the time all reached their home, it was around 3 in the afternoon and all were tired and sleepy as they had woken up early. They thought of having a small nap for sometime and all retired to their rooms.

Atul and Anjali were in their room taking rest. Padma thought of preparing some snacks as her both her daughters were leaving the next day and she wanted to send some sweets for them.

Armaan and Riddhima were in their room. She was taking out all her jewellery and bangles. Armaan had already changed and had dozed off. She changed into a simple plain purple salwar and lied on the bed to rest for sometime. As soon as she hit the pillow she was in the dreamland. All woke up in the evening at 5:30, had some tea and all sat down to watch a movie. Armaan suggested some action movie, Riddhima wanted to watch something comedy. Both were bickering on what movie they had to select. They were sitting on the couch, atul and Anjali had setteled on the carpet. Shashank was in the study and Padma was in the kitchen. Both didn't want to compromise so finally Atul had to interfere and said lets not watch movie at all. Chalo lets go out for a walk. Vaise bhi hum sab orphanage nahi gaye is baar. Chalo lets meet the children and bua, and as it is Armaan has not met them right, he said. Riddhima immediately agreed and all the four left to the orphanage. Riddhima kept on blabbering all the way telling Anjali about Ruhan, Nikki, Muskaan, Rahul, Ananya, Billy and so on and on and on. Anjali was a bit surprised listening to her as she had so many things to tell about others but she had not mentioned anything about Armaan. Armaan and Atul were walking a little ahead. Initially in the first few months after the marriage, every girl talks about her husband about their relation, how understanding the person is and many others, but Riddhima never had mentioned about Armaan even a point. Due to Anjali's straightforwardness, she did not feel like holding her doubts so she asked her, "Riddhima, u have so many things to tell about others, but I don't see that u have a good relationship with Armaan. Pls don't mind me asking, but are u really happy with this marriage. I don't get it that u both had a love marriage and u still don't feel free around him."

Riddhima was taken back by this sudden question. She could see that Anjali had started doubting their relation. Then she said, nai di, its nothing like that. U''' u'''u know me right, I am little shy about talking about that kind of talks so '''. So I didn't mention about him. aur tum ye kya soch kar baithgayi di , chalo na hum undonon ke saath chalte hai, chalo. She cut the conversation in the middle and pulled her near the boys.

As soon as they joined them Anjali was next to Atul and held his hand and were walking, but she kept giving side glances to Riddhima and Armaan. She saw them walking with a little distance in between. Riddhima noticed her observing them. Immediately she held Armaan's arms just like Anjali had. Armaan was surprised and turned his face towards Riddhima. She giggled seeing his shocked expression. Then she whispered in his ear, "di ko shak ho raha hai, so I have to do this. sorry, pls don't mind." Hearing that Armaan wanted to say, "why would I mind, it would be my pleasure," but could not muster the courage to say. Soon they reached the orphanage, bua greeted them happily. All the children met them, Riddhima introduced Armaan to all of them there as he was new to that place and no one knew who he was. When the kids heard that Armaan was Riddhima's husband, some teenage boys and girls there whistled and surprisingly both Armaan and Riddhima blushed hearing that. They all spent some time there. Atul and Anjali had to leave a little early as Anjali had to meet her friend who stayed the next block and they told Armaan and Riddhima to go home as it would get late if they wait for them.

Armaan and Riddhima played some games with the children there. Armaan was on the girl's side and Riddhima was on the boy's side. They all played hide and seek, by tying a black cloth on their eyes. Both Riddhima and Armaan were cheating but Riddhima was the doing the most. Whenever Armaan caught her peeping through the cloth, she would just pick a fight saying that they were all not playing properly and were only teasing her. When all the children started teasing her she got angry and said she was not continuing to play with them. After sometime it was late and bua called them in as it was getting late and Armaan and Riddhima both left from there after taking bua's blessings and promising the kids that they would again visit them very soon. After bidding bye to all, while walking back Riddhima was silent and walking a bit far from Armaan. He smiled at her antics and tried talking to her.

Armaan: Riddhima, no enough ok, thoda tumne cheating ki, thoda maine so it equal. ab gussa chodo. Riddhima did not look at him and was walking a little ahead. Armaan was getting restless by now and grabbed her wrist and stopped her. "ok fine, ab tumhari gussa kam karne ke liye mujhe kya karna hoga, batao."

Riddhima took her hand and folded her arms on her chest and with a straight face said "pehle sorry bolo."

Armaan: What, sorry, aur main? Noways.

Riddhima: nahi, tum sorry bolo, tabhi main tumse baat karungi.

Armaan: tum pagal ho, pura ka pura pagal.

Riddhima: I don't know anything but tum pehle mujhe sorry bolooooooooooooooo. She started throwing tantrums.

Armaan thought "oh god, she is so stubborn, but so innocent. Vaise bhi ek sorry hi toh maang rai hai, chalo boldeta hoon."

Armaan: Riddhimaaaaa, ok fine, I am sorry. tum sahi thi aur main galat, theek hai, come on ab chalo gussa chodo aur mujhse baat karo.

Even then she did not reply. She kept walking in the middle of the road.

Armaan: ab kya, maine sorry boldiya na, dekho ab gussa chodo, aur side pe ajao, ye kya beech raaste pe chal rai ho, come on, chalo, saying so he pulled her to the side.

She jerked his hand slowly and was again walking silently.

Armaan (thought): arre bapre, ye toh Mumbai main hi theek thi, yaha aakar kitne nakre dikharai hai, oh god. ab ise kaise manau.

Armaan: Ok baba pls, maaf kardo, tum jo kaho gi vo karunga, ab to manjao.

Riddhima: Jo main kahungi.

Armaan: Huh?

Riddhima: Jo main kahungi vo karoge.

Armaan: Haan, jo tum kahogi.

Riddhima: ok phir main tumhe maaf karungi, lekin you will have to buy me an ice-cream. Double scoop with lot of chocolate soup over it." She instantly replied. He chuckled and shook his head as she gave the description of the cold treat she was going to get.

Armaan: acha theek hai, chalo, he said and they both walked in to a near by ice cream parlour.

She was selecting the flavours of ice creams, she had taken 4 ice cream cones and told Armaan to select his flavour for himself and she walked to the bench and sat on that happily eating and cherishing her ice creams.

He saw her eating all the flavours at a time. He thought what a weird taste but enjoyed the childish expression on her face. He bought one for himself and both sat and ate their ice creams.

After eating when they were about to leave from there Vicky (Siddhant's brother) came there with some of his friends. He saw Armaan and Riddhima coming in the front. He wanted to take his revenge for dumping his brother and marrying Armaan. Actually that was the second reason but his main point was he always had wanted her in his bed one time. But he thought that she was a hard nut to crack and when he was told by his parents that they were going to ask Shashank for Riddhima's hand in marriage to Sid, he thought that anyways "ab to vo ghar main hi rahegi to kuch na kuch kar sake ga" but all his ideas went to drain when he saw her with Armaan as his wife. Today, when he saw her with Armaan, he some how wanted to take revenge on her.

Vicky: he walked near her and said aloud, "hey Riddhima, kaisi ho. Hope u r enjoying ur married life very much, vaise honeymoon par kaha gayi thi.

Riddhima: fumed with anger and held Armaan's hand and said, chalo Armaan lets go out from here.

Vicky blocked her way and said, arre itni jaldi kya hai, hamein apni pati se milvaogi nahi.

Riddhima was about to say something when Armaan came in between them and made her stand behind him and faced Vicky and said, kyun nahi milvayegi, of course main milna chahta hu aap logon se.

Vicky: hmmmmm, to aisa kya hogaya jo ek hi din mein pyar hua aur dusre din shaadi kardi.

Armaan: exactly, jo tumne abhi kaha pyaar hua, isiliye shaadi ki. aur rahi baat honeymoon par jane ki toh hum ye zaroori nahi samajhte ki kisi bhi aire gaire logon ko bataye saying this he stepped one step forward with anger displaying very well on his face so now "shut ur bl**dy mouth and F**k off from here, varna aisa marunga ki aage se kisi se baat karne ke liye zuban nai hogi, samjha.

Vicky was scared a little seeing Armaan's anger and backed off and signalled his friends to move back and left from there.

Riddhima and Armaan went home without saying anything to eachother.

Soon after they arrived home, a little while later Atul and Anjali also were back they had dinner and all retired to their rooms. Armaan and Riddhima did not tell anyone what had happened in the ice cream parlour and they had themselves forgotten about that for the time being as they were with all talking and chatting. They didn't want to give them any tension now.

Awww...that was a real sweet update. It was good to see Riddhima get close to Armaan, even if only cuz she wanted to justify her marriage to Anjali. But it's said and very justly portrayed by you, that once a girl marries...she keeps things from her own family as well...her sister who was privy to all her secrets is now the one she hides her relation from! Her mom and dad as well...that's how it works around the globe ...but ti's real sad and was portrayed very tactfully by you! It was nice to se taking lead for Riddhima for a change...and awesome to see Riddhima's uneasiness shooing away with time..There was once a time she wouldn't look at him and stay away from his friends not only cuz he disgusted her but also cuz she didn't want to be the object of his verbal assault and anger...this change in Armaan is almost phenomenal..and Riddhima is such a kid...I feel sorry about her..she still had a couple of years in the Gupta house before marriage but things took a bad turn for her. I love the pace of this story...neither too slow, nor fast....just perfect and ofcourse the person behind the perfect concept has to be marvellous as well! So keep writing...thnx fr the pm....and have a nice day!
