Suhani: " just a minute friends. I am almost done."

Gunjan: " lets be seated girls. Suhani ke aik minute a matlab to pata he hai."

All five of them laughed. Gunjan has already noticed the change in Nupur this morning. Nupur has finaaly accepted that Mayank could never be hers. Lst night after talking to Gunjan she had realised that it was a one sided love afterall and it wasn't Mayank's fault. all she had to do was survive today's meeting and than who knows they may never meet. Her heart did sank at the thought of never meeting Mayank and She didn't knew how she would manage that day but one thing she knew for sure was that she has suffered too much already and she had to stay strong. She couldn't allow herself to get involved with Mayank again.

Mayank and Samrath were standing in the hall with Benji and udhay. He was aapreciating the decoration when he noticed there were too many red roses and unintentionally he was reminded of Nupur. "Nupur loved red roses," thought Mayank. He was disturbed by the way his thoughts were ending up on Nupur since yesterday. Whatever he looks at reminds him of her. His train of thought was disturbed by Benji saying, " finally here they come."

Mayank and Samrat both looked up.

As went with there dress code all boys were wearing suits while girls were wearing gowns. Nupur was wearing a red gown that fell softly down to her ankles. She was wearing her long black hair down which reached to her waist in a beautiful glossy display. Mayank couldn't help but notice that as usaual Nupur was simply attired but somehow looking the best. Mayank was stangely effected by the direction of his thoughts. Afterall Nupur was only a friend than why did he feel as if his heart has been waiting for her…….

Samrat glanced up and Gunjan caught his eyes. She was wearing a soft pink gown. Her hair were left open and were falling down on her shoulders curling at the end. Samrat thought ," she looked lovely."

Samrat blinked , surprised by his sudden reaction. Why was he thinking so much about Gunjan? Was it just curiosity about the anger he had seen in her eyes or was it something else…

both shook off the feeling and recollecting themselves moved farward with Benji and Udhay.

Benji, " what took you so long?"

Udhay: " let me guess please. SUHANI WAS GETTING READY."

CJ: " exactly."

They all laughed.

Mayank: " looking nice Nupur."

Nupur: " arrr… thanks!"

Suhani: " I need sonmething to drink. Anyone wants to join me?"

All did leaving Nupur, Mayank, Gunjan and Samrat alone.

Gunjan: ( trying to overcome the pause) " so Mayank how have America suited you?"

Mayank: " its fun being there but I missed my homeland."

Gunjan: " wese howcome you here between semeter time?"

Mayank: " didn't I mention it before? My father died last month and since I am the only child so my mother needed me. Besides I have to look after the buisnes.( looking at Nupur) So I am not going back."

Nupur: " sorry to hear about uncle. So mmmm… Samrat you planning to go back?"

Mayank: " samrat came back with me to help me settle everything . he will be going back soon that is if his parents fail to coarse him into marrying someone."

Mayank laughed and Nupur smiled.

Samrat: you are my friend so I had to do that and as far as my parents are concerned now that my work here is done I will be gone before they have time to coarse me."

Gunjan: " sorry to interupt this pretty shit chat but I need something to drink. Catch you in a minute."

As soon as Gunjan said that she scolded herself for being so rude but there was something about Samarat that forced her to behave unlike herself.

Samrat did notice Gunjan's throw of his words back at him but instead of getting angry on a sudden urge said: " I will come with you."

For a minute all three stood and looked at Samrat. Even for mayank this was new. Samrat being polite? Was there something Mayank overlooked? Maybe Samrat liked Gunjan. But gunjan's behaviour was …

Gunjan: " yeah. Ok"

As soon as Gunjan and Samrat left mayank spoke up: " can it be that Gunjan don't like Samrat?"

Nupur has also noticed that but in an effort to defend her friend she said: "why do you say so?"

Mayank: " Gunjan is a sweet natured girl but she the way she act towards Samrat .. it almost seems as if she dislike him."

Nupur: " I didn't noticed any such thing. Maybe they don't go along that well but Gunjan never dislikes people. ( changing topic)Wese Samrat must be a real good friend coming with you."

Mayank : " he is. He was with me when I most needed my friends."

Nupur: " tmne uncle ke bare mein bataya he nahe."

Mayank: " kese batata? Tm to gayab he ho gaye the. Na koi call , na message. I tried to call you from America many times but your number never responded."

Nupur was touched: " you called ? but .. oh.. I remember I cahnged my number soon after you left. Actually I lost my mobile."

Mayank: " oh acha… aur meine socha… chalo choro! Please yaad se mujhe aona naya number de dena. You never know when your friend may need you again. You see.."

But Nupur interupted: ' tumne kya socha?"

Mayank: ( looking in Nupur eyes) " meine socha you no longer wanted to talk to me…"

Nupur stood there speechless. Unconsiously she took a step towards Mayank.

Samrat glanced at Gunjan many times.he was unable to justify his sudden attraction towards her.

Samrat: " so what are you doing these days?"

Gunjan: " Literature."

Samrat: " oh great!"

Gunjan: " you don't have to try and keep up conversation"

Gunjan looked up and Samrat again saw that anger in her eyes.

Samrat: " what is your problem?"

Gunjan: ( averting her eyes) "none of your buisness"

Samrat grasped her hand and turn her aroung to face him.

" none of my buisness han? I agree we were never on friendly terms but this is too much. You are passing me angry looks, you are throwing my words back at me. What is you problem?"

Gunjan: " you are my problem. Your best friend is my problem. Now leave my hand."

Samrat: " ( ignoring the second part and tightening the grip) " what are you talking about?"

Gunjan: " oh really? Don't act as if you don't know! Leave my hand. You are hurting me"

Samrat instantly loosed his grip, and treating Gunjan like a stubburn kid, " how do you expect me to know when you wont explain?"

Gunjan: " and here I was thinking you were a genious! I am talking about Nupur and Mayank dammit. And I said leave me."

Samrat: ' what about Nupur and Mayank? How about you try making some sense? "

Gunjan: " are you trying to tell me you being the genious you havnt realised what Nupur feels for MyanNk? You want me to believe you havent comprehended yet that Nupur loves Mayank ? Or are you trying to make a fool of me? because you are failing badly at it."

Gunjan jerked his hand away and left him standing alone. Smarat was too shocked by what Gunjan has just revealed to go after her. How could that be. Mayank never showed such feeling or did he failed to notice? Gunjan has left him in a total turmoil of thought.

Samrat: " Nupur loves Mayank?"
