PART 4

WHY DID I FALL IN LOVE?

Next morning Armaan had an immediate call from the FBI office at the time of breakfast. So he had to leave early and he could not ask Riddhima about Rohan.
At FBI office,
Armaan went inside his cabin and was immediately informed about the arrival of Rohan.
He went in the visitor's room and found a very handsome man sitting in a white shirt and blue jeans.
[Meet Rohan guys]

The forehead wrinkles displayed the tension in his mind.The other man sitting next to the hunk was an old man in his 50s wearing a black coat above a white shirt. Armaan understood that Rohan brought a lawyer to get Riddhima out of this trouble as early as possible.
Armaan coughed a little and he didn't know why his heart gave him a signal since morning that any major thing is gonna happen to him.
Rohan: Good morning ,Sir. I'm Rohan- Riddhima's fianc and this is Mr. Edmund Gates. Armaan was shocked hearing Rohan's word and he could not listen the further introduction given by Riddhima's fiance.He was rooted at the spot and felt as if someone had put him in a dark room deprived of oxygen.
R: Sir??
Rahul who was just 5 minutes late in entering the cabin immediately noticed Armaan lost somewhere so he decided to intervene in between.
He kept a hand on Armaan's shoulder bringing him back to senses.Armaan sighed and looked towards him.
R: u ok?
Armaan nodded and then his face turned into a stone.
AR: so Mr. Rohan what do you want from us?
R: Sir Riddhima is innocent.She can never even think of doing such crime. That is why I've brought a lawayer with myself to get her out of here.
AR: What do you think are we doing?
R: I'm really grateful to you for managing to put her under house arrest but I can't let her remain here till her whole life.I've to do something.
AR: Do you think that you can get a bail for her?
R: That is why I've come here to first have a few words with you so that I may know the direction in which I should work to see her free from this trouble.
Armaan looked towards the lawyer.
RAHUL: So Mr. Edmund can you do something?
ED: We need to have a solid reason so that the court may grant her a bail. The problem is that she was aught red-handed which makes her part weak in this case.
Rohan:What do you mean? Can you do nothing to get my Riddhima out?
Armaan winced at the words my Riddhima.
His fingers turned into a fist but soon he relaxed himself.
AR: Rohan we are doing our best to gather proofs in favour of Riddhima and if you ask my advice, I would say that it would be much better if we have Riddhima with us because she is the only one who can help us to find the real culprit.
RO: so you mean that I should let Riddhima stuck here like a prisoner so that you can find the criminals? I won't let her remain here and for that I'll do everything I can.
ED: Rohan,I think Armaan Sir is right. I've dealt with hundreds of cases like this and almost all the times the one who was caught with drugs was ultimately given the stamp of smuggler.If we try to seek for a bail,the court may not give it to us easily.And even if we get the bail and no proper proof is found in her support she will have to be send back.And this time she may not get the opportunity of house arrest. This time she would be put in solitaires. Am I right sir?
He looked towards Armaan and Rahul.
R: yes,you are right.You don't know what difficlulties Armaan come across with in getting the permission for the house arrest.Perhaps,we have little amount of time to gather evidences in Riddhima's favour because the higher officials may not come in terms with this house arrest if we take more time in the investigation. They might order us to treat Riddhima like other convicts.And in that case we would turn helpless.
Rohan sat down on his seat keeping his head in between his hands.
R: I'm sorry.I just can't see my love living in hell. She is so naive. She is scared of loneliness.She was coming back to India after completing her internship.We were about to get married just when this unexpected situation arrived as a bolt from blue.How is she?She must be having puffy eyes due to constant crying.
AR: Don't worry; she is not as much as weak as you think. She is a strong and determined girl. She has promised me to fight for self and her family's reputation. I've made sure that she would not cry more.
R:Can I meet her?
AR: I'm sorry.We can't let anyone meet her like this.You need to have a permission from the court.
EDMUND: Well for that I'm here.This is the permission letter.
AR: OK then.Wait for half an hour and she will be infront of your eyes.
R: Thank You so much. Please take care of her. Her family is in so much tension right now.But now I can easily tell them that Riddhima is going to make it as the FBI officers trust her. Honestly,you guys have changed my thoughts regarding the cobs.
RAHUL: Why?What did you think of us?
R: You know Riddhima used to tell me about her interactions with the FBI officers in the hospitals, with reference to murders and accidents, in our chatting sessions. She got irritated of you men coz of your attitudes. According to her, the FBI men are the men without hearts who are extremely proud of their positions and don't leave any chances of show-off.She used to relax all her frustrations upon me whenever she met a cop.
Armaan was amused. His cold face smiled a little.
RAHUL: Armaan so is she getting irritated from you too?
AR: No,she is very nice girl and has been very sweet to me. I never found her misbehaving or getting annoyed with me. On the contrary, she has been very calm, understanding, patient and supportive.
ROHAN: Noone can be rude to you sir. It was really my pleasure to meet the Armaan Malik .I've read a lot about you.
Rahul coughed a little.
R: Please don't mind sir.You too are a wonderful person.
AR: Thank you.Please call me Armaan.Sir does not looks nice.
RAHUL: Yes and me also .Call Rahul ok.
R: As you guys say.
AR: Rohan please wait for a few minutes.Let me bring Riddhima to you.
Armaan went to his cabin and sat on the chair with his head in his hands.
The past eight months flashed before his eyes. His hopes, dreams all were shattered in a few ample of seconds. The truth that has deemed upon him is almost next to taking his life away from him. After meeting Riddhima, his heart made him dream something which he should have never thought about. He dreamt of him and Riddhima together and forever after he would get her out of this wrong accusation. But now he will have to set up his mind again in order to live as he did before meeting Riddhima.Two fat tears came in his eyes but Armaan Malik never cries. He stopped them from spilling and made a decision. He decided to live with Riddhima only like an officer-no more like a friend,so that she may not affect him much. Everytime he sees her ,he wishes to be present in a world where only he and Riddhima are present-alone and happy,free of all worries.But now he'll have to turn cold towards her so that her charm may have least affect on him.He knew his attempy would go in vain but atleast he decided to try it once.
Just then there was a knock at the dor.
It was Niki.
N: Sir Riddhima has arrived.
AR: Good.Bring her here.
Niki nodded and went back.
Riddhima came in with Muskaan.
RI: Why am I here?Any problem.
AR: We have a surprise for you.
RI: For me?
AR: hmm.Lets go.
He tried to smile and then walked past her giving the signal to her to follow him.
She walked behind him.
On the door of visitor's room,Armaan stopped.
AR: Now go ahead.
RI: Alone?
AR: Don't worry.You'll be happy once you enter in.
She hesitatingly opened the door and her eyes widened with surprise and happiness.
RI: Rohan.
She screamed at the top of her voice with happiness and tears in her eyes.
Both Riddhima and Rohan reached to each other quickly and she hugged him tightly shedding her tears on her shoulders.
Armaan witnessed the scene infront of him.He could take it no more.He closed the door and went straight to his cabin.
HE called Rahul.
AR: Rahul can you just see Riddhima for a while.She is with Rohan right now.I need to do something else right now.
Rahul said yes but he knew something disturbed Armaan very very badly and it would be most dangerous for anyone who would talk with him right now.
He walked out of his cabin being pre-occupued with Armaan's painful face.He immediately realized that Armaan was going through something which has hurt him deeply. But he could not make out what the reason could be.

Armaan came back to his cabin and the first thing he did was to drink a glass of water to keep his mind cool.
He was feeling as if someone has put him in oxygen less room.Whatever has happened today was never expected from Armaan.He didn't know that God will take away all his wishes so soooooooooooon.Just a few days back he has met his lady love once again and now he knows that she can never be his.
He just tried to look back at his past to realize if he had done any great mistake for which his heart is broken so brutally.
The Armaan Malik who didn't want to give time to love in his life was captivated by a girl in just one sight.For him,the only true love that existed was in between his mom-dad.Grown up in America he was used to see heart unions and break-ups within seconds and finally he concluded that falling in love would divert you from your ambitions in life.If he needed to succeed,he should better remain away from love and all such things.
But destiny always brings us surprises and so was with Armaan.After realizing that his every heart beat took the name of Riddhima, he searched for her like maniacs but nothing came in his hand apart from disappointment.And now when fate itself brought Riddhima to him,he thought that god gave him a chance to get his love.But he was proved wrong again.She belonged to someone else.
He had been living with a hope to see Riddhima again since the past eight months.His haunting dreams never left him till he met Riddhima again.Alas!!!Everything just crushed again.
Armaan was sitting on his seat with his head in between his palms and eyes closed tightly.The scene of Rohan and Riddhima flashed before his eyes. How can this be possible? Everytime he looked at her, he felt that fate has decided for them to remain together.He thought so because he had left no stone unturned in tracing Riddhima but all his efforts were unfruitful .However, when he decided that he would start to forget her, she was infront of his eyes.His heart had a satisfactory feeling which he has been craving for since eight months.He didn't want this calmness of his life to be lost once again.After meeting her he knew that not only was she gorgeous from looks,but also her heart was made of gold.Her innocence and honesty were the first things that had attracted him towards her.
He still remembered the day when he saw Riddhima and lost himself in her green eyes and angelic face.
Armaan looked up when he heard a knock at the door.
He knew it was Rahul as no one else would have dared to knock even after his orders of not disturbing him.
He made his face straight and immediately held back the tear that could fall any moment from his eyes. His visionary senses were all red as he had held back the ocean of pain inside him since so many days.
RG: Armaan tu theek hai na.
AR: Rahul mujhe kya hoga?
RG: teri aankhein toh kuch aur hi keh rahi hain.koi problem hai
AR: nahin kuch nahin aur koi problem hogi bhi toh tu janta hai na ki mujhe apni problems se deal karna aata hai.
RG: ya right tu Armaan Malik jo haiWhat's up with Rohan?Jabse aaya hai tu kuch disturb sa hai.
Armaan turned back after standing.
AR: aisa kuch nahin hai.mujhe bas yeh dar hai ki pyaar ke chakkar mein kahin Riddhima museebat mein na pad jaye.
RG: matlab?
AR: Didn't u see how much eager he is to get Riddhima out of all this mess.The way he is determined,I guess he will make all his efforts to get Riddhima out of the house arrest.And if this happens,Riddhima's life would be in danger.
RG: Armaan right now he has agreed to us na.
AR: so what? How many days do you think he will be patient enough to follow our advice?Rahul when we love someone,our heart works faster than the brain.He loves her crazily, ready to die for ones, so he would not be able to see Riddhima in such a trouble for a longer time.I don't know how much time this case is going to take ,so I can't even assure him properly.
RG: Armaan are u ok?
AR: W*H?Why is this question again?
RG: The Armaan Malik who runs away from love is talking about love and its depth.Hearing this should I not doubt your saneness.
AR: Shut up Rahul.Here I'm all serious and you have started all your nonsense.
RG: ok ok.
Rahul tried to hide his smile seeing Armaan in tension and frustration like this.
He wondered why Armaan is getting so much attached to this case and his concern for Riddhima had surely started raising questions in his mind.
RG: Armaan relax we will think later when the time comes about this.Ok. Why are you taking tension now?
AR: Hmm you are right.
RG: Are you sure this is the only matter that is troubling you.
AR: What do you mean?
RG: It's better u look yourself in the mirror and ask this question.I know you won't share even if I ask a hundred times if you are not willing to do so.Anyways just calm down and remember I'm always there for you anytime.
Armaan smiled and hugged him.
AR: That's why you are my best friend.I love you.
RG: I love you too dude.Be happy.
Rahul patted his shoulder and went away.
Armaan sighed and collapsed in the chair.
This was the excellent part of Armaan Malik's character.He can come up with excellent ideas just at the right moment to divert anyone's attention from his own troubles.
Although he and Atul shared so many secrets yet whenever a problem aroused Armaan always kept to himself unless poked till death to speak the truth by Atul.The bond with Rahul was different from waht he had with Atul.Rahul could read Armaan's face and would never give up till he finds out the real cause for his worries.Armaan was Rahul's best buddy and so was he for Armaan.
Talking with Rahul only Armaan knew how he was controlling himself.
He felt angry over himself now.He felt that he should have never fallen in love and that too with someone who belonged to someone else.He felt miserable at the thought that once again his life would be empty .He knew being the man he was, he would never ever fall in love again.He has heard his mom saying that' true love happens just once.You can love someone a second time only if you have completely lost your first love and it is far away from you.Second time it's more a compromise first and love might happen later'.
Armaan's temper was slowly rising.He was angry with himself to be so helpless infront of a girl whom he merely knows.He was angry to raise a hope to make Riddhima fall for him after he gets her out of this trouble.Why did he fall in love?Why could not God spare him when he never wanted to get himself involved in this stuff?Why did she came into his life when he had decided to move on[although he knew it was impossible but dil behlane mein kya jata hai]?Why,Why,Why?Why was she engaged if she was the only woman who can bring the great Armaan Malik for making her enter in his life?Why?Why?
His head would burst with these questions he thought.
Immediately he thought of something.He called up Niki and told her that he is taking off today.So she should inform everyone while he is taking the leave right now.
Niki heard him silently but was stunned.This man has never taken off unless it was very very urgent and important and today all of a sudden he is ready to leave and that too when his incharged convict-Riddhima is still here.
She went away and the news was dropped like an atom bomb in FBI.
Armaan went outside of his cabin and saw 2 officers laughing over something.HE didn't like that.
AR: IS this a cinema hall?
1st officer-no sir. Sorry sir.
AR: The nation's security and safety is in your hands and you guys take it so lightly.there is a girl whose case we have to solve. We have to find the real culprit and here you all are having fun.this is not a theatre or ur home where u are present to enjoy.It's your duty time so concentrate on it.Next time this should not be repeated.
2nd officer-yes sir.We are sorry again.
The two men almost ran away from there for their lives.It was not good to mess with the seniormost officer-Armaan Malik.everyone knows how much he loves his work and is possessive about it.
Armaan then decided to walk away .HE didn't know why his heart craved to see Riddhima once before leaving FBI today.Automatically, his legs made way to the visitor's room.
He slowly peeked in only to see Riddhima's head on Rohan's shoulder .She was still sobbing and trying to tell him many things at the same time.Rohan meanwhile kissed her forehead and assured her.That was the limit.Armaan felt heart broken again and went away.
