From the day when gunjan had started ignoring samrat, he was getting badly affected. Everything around him seemed nothing to him. He never felt like working, eating, sleeping, or doing some other work when gunjan was upset because of him.
Even his company was suffering because of all this. Samrat neither paid attention towards any project, nor did he show his interest in any dealings or meetings. Once there was a time when samrat used to be the most hard-working and top-most businessman. But since his life was becoming miserable, his personal life-problems were creating problems for his professional life. His company was deteriorating, and had started incurring losses. In every meeting where samrat was present, the meeting ended up with his company losing the tender.
And for all this, samrat was to be blamed. SD had even scolded him several times for this, but samrat took least bother of this. SD knew that what was troubling samrat, yet he scolded him, so that he could correct his mistake.
Not only samrat, but gunjan too was suffering. She has been facing sleepless nights ever since she came back to this house only for samrat, and even now, she spent her nights without sleeping. Her heart would pierce seeing samrat in such a bad condition. Whenever she saw him sitting blankly and lost in some thoughts, she would feel to forget all the problems & give a consoling hug to him, to convey that she would always stand by him in times of need. She would even take a step towards him, but then she stopped herself. It was now samrat's turn to come and talk to gunjan, to say that how much he has loved her since old days, and how much he loves her.

And between all these tensions, the preparations for suhani's engagement were high on peaks. The shergill house was full of numerous workers, one leaving, other entering in the house, some of them setting up the lightings, while some were busy with the interior decoration. Gunjan had taken up the charge for all preparations, and so, she remained busy the entire day.
But in between all this, suhani was sad. It was her engagement and she herself was unhappy and remained in her room most of the time, weeping in front of Indira's photo. She had promised to her mother, before her death that she will unite samrat and gunjan, and make them to live a happy life, but she remained unsuccessful at this. She was getting engaged tomorrow, and soon she would marry & leave the house, but what about samrat and gunjan? Once suhani leaves the house, samrat will throw gunjan out of the house, and no one would remain happy in future.
Gunjan had taken up all the responsibilities very maturely. She took care of even minute arrangements, so that no guests get a chance to complain. Samrat had even taken leave from office, though his presence in the office was equal to his absence only. Gunjan was standing near a table, setting a bouquet of flowers, when she suddenly felt a tight grip on her wrist, and the next moment, she found herself in a corner, standing too close to samrat. He had badly wanted to talk to gunjan, as now he couldn't bear her silence and anger.
They both stood too close to each other, feelings each other's warm breathe on their faces, which took them to some other world. For a moment, samrat felt losing himself in the angelic beauty of his wife, but gunjan, who tried her best to control herself, remained confused at this.
"chhodo mujhe……………. Samrat………… you're hurting me………." She cried, trying to escape from his tight grip.
"no gunjan, you're trying to hurt me!" samrat replied, making his grip even more tight.
"samrat tum………. Tum kya keh rahe ho……….. mujhe……….mujhe kuchh samajh nahi aa raha hai…….."
"tum achhe se jaanti ho main kis baare mein baat kar raha hun!" he said, "itne dino se jo hamare beech ho raha hai wo…………"
"hamare beech?" gunjan looked up at him in slight surprise, "itne dino se hamare beech kuchh bhi nahi hua hai samrat, aur kabhi kuchh hoga bhi nahi…………."
"meri poori baat suno gunjan!" he yelled, pulling gunjan closer from her shoulders. "ek shaam ki baat se tum mujhse itni naraaz ho gayi, ki mujhse baat hi karna chhod dia………"
"main tumse naraaz nahi hun samrat!" gunjan grinned slightly, "main kabhi tumse naraaz thi hi nahi. Main toh khud se naraaz hun, ki maine uss shaam tumse baat karne ki koshish ki."
"just shut-up gunjan!" he yelled again, "do you have any idea, ki pichhle kuchh dino se jis tarah tum mere saath behave kar rahi ho, usse mujhpar kya asar ho raha hai? It's hurting me damn it!"
"kyun samrat?" gunjan asked, "kyun tumse meri narazgi dekhi nahi jaa rahi hai? Kyun tum meri khamoshi se darte ho? Bolo samrat?
The moment gunjan started asking those questions, samrat's grip became involuntarily light on her shoulders, and he stepped back. These were the questions which samrat didn't wish to answer.
"ab chup kyun ho samrat? Main toh tumse baat kar rahi hun, tumse kuchh puchh rahi hun, uska jawaab do na! Kyun tumhe mere gusse se farak padta hai?" she asked again.
He didn't answer to any of her questions. But gunjan still waited for him to answer, though she knew that he wouldn't. Samrat turned back to go, but was stopped by gunjan's words.
"tum chaahe kitna bhi chhupa lo samrat, par tumhari aankhein, aur tumhari khamoshi sab keh jaate hain."
Saying this, gunjan left from there. Samrat looked at her in amazement. Was she angry with him, or there was some thing else, for which she had stopped talking to him?

And finally, the day was here, when suhani and adhiraj were getting engaged. Since Indira's death, this event was the reason for which everyone was smiling today. Every corner of the mansion was filled with delight, happiness, and excitement.
The preparations were almost finished, and gunjan & samrat were simply seeing that all the work has been done with perfection or not. Even though they were busy, they sometimes stole glances of each other, or came in each other's way by mistakably while working. Samrat tried to talk to gunjan again, but she never left such chances where he could speak to her.
While working, gunjan heard her cell phone ringing. Her tired face transformed into a happy one, when she saw dia's name flashing on the cell as the caller name.
"hey dia! How are you?" she received the call with a wide smile.
"I'm absolutely fine gunjan!" dia replied back, "you tell, how is everything there?"
"today suhani is getting engaged to adhiraj! Isn't it good?" gunjan said.
"Wow!! That's great news!" dia beamed happily, "I'm glad that suhani is fine and happy now!"
"yeah………."
"and what about you and samrat?"
Dia asked such a question, which made the happiness to vanish away from gunjan's face. She stood there unhappy, and looked at samrat, who was busy in some work.
"nothing…………. Nothing is fine here dia………. Its my……………my fault…… I've messed up everything……………between me and samrat…………" she replied with a heavy heart.
"what's the matter gunjan? Why you sound so depressed?" dia asked in a concerned tone, "please tell me…….."
"samrat still thinks that I love armaan………………."
Gunjan began with this one line and told each and everything to dia, whatever happened in the house after she left. Her voice became teary as she finished speaking, and there, dia too felt bad at this. But things were not that easy as they seemed, this was known to both dia and gunjan.
"look gunjan, I've already said you that you shouldn't lose hope." Dia said, "but right now, you are not at all supposed to be angry with samrat."
"I'm just fed-up dia!" gunjan groaned, "and I can't take it anymore……… Here I'm making efforts so that samrat speaks to me and say that how much he loves me. But he's least bothered of it."
"no gunjan, you are wrong." Dia spoke, "samrat cares for you, he loves you very much……….. and somewhere he must be feeling bad to see you upset. Don't forget that he has suffered a lot in past, and even after this, he never stopped loving you, or caring for you. I've seen the immense love for you in his eyes."
"if is it so, then why he doesn't speaks to me?" gunjan cried, "whenever I persuade him, why does he turns away and behaves rudely to me?"
"gunjan, he had also gone through the same face, when he tried to prove innocent to himself, but instead of believing him, you stood against him." Dia interrupted, "just because you don't suffer, he sacrificed his love only for the sake of your happiness………."
Dia's words were bitter, yet 'true'. For a moment, gunjan had changed herself so much that se forgot all the sacrifices made by samrat, so that she could live a happy life. Whatever dia said, reminded gunjan that she was back in the house only to correct her mistake, and to start up a new life with samrat.
"gunjan, I know that how bad you must be feeling right now……." Dia broke the silence, "but this is the time when you should confront samrat, to let him express his feelings. Go, and talk to him……. . Remember, such problems cannot be solved without confronting, and that can't happen until you and samrat don't talk to each other. Don't show your anger to him………just go, and talk to him."
Dia ended speaking, and then giving her best wishes to gunjan, she cut the call. And she had now decided to talk to samrat. Enough of this egoistic problem……….. enough is the game of hide and seek. Gunjan now felt rather light-hearted, as she would talk to samrat today itself, and sort out every problem.

It was almost 4:30pm, and all the preparations were over by now. The house was silent, only the giggling and mutterings of some girls from suhani's room could be heard, and that too on hearing it very carefully.
Gunjan was in her room, checking out her saaree which she had to wear in suhani's engagement. Her face lit up with a bright smile on admiring that saaree, as it was chosen by samrat. He had a very good taste!
Meanwhile, samrat came in the room, and walked quietly towards the cupboard, to take out his shervani. While he changed in the washroom, gunjan wore the saaree quickly, and then indulged herself with the dori of her blouse. She kept on trying 3-4 times, but couldn't tie it properly, as every time she tied the knot, it became loose and opened. Samrat came out of the washroom, wearing light brown coloured shervani. Gunjan turned back on hearing the door knob unlocked, and blushed slightly when her eyes met his. She again turned in front, and tried to tie the knot, but again she couldn't. samrat saw this, and made his way towards her, to help her.
As samrat took the dori in his hand, his cold skin met with her warm milky skin at her back, making her quiver and close her eyes. He began tying the knot gently, while gunjan trembled at his slightest touch.
"Is it ok?"
Gunjan opened her eyes, and came back from dreamland, as samrat asked her, after tying the knot. She turned back, and shook her head in positive. Samrat then moved in front of mirror, and combed his hairs, while gunjan stood still in her place, fiddling with the pallu of her saaree, and thinking how to begin talking with samrat.
And with her thinking session, samrat was ready, and he walked towards the door, but was stopped by gunjan, who called out his name slowly.
"main………….wo…………tumse kuchh………….kuchh baat karna chahti………. Hun samrat….." she said, "wo, hum………hum dono"
"kuchh kehne ki zarurat nahi hai gunjan." Samrat interrupted, "itne dino se hamare beech jo bhi ho raha hai, wo theek nahi hai. Isse na sirf hum dono ko, balki poori family ko bura lag raha hai."
Gunjan smiled slightly to herself, thinking that maybe samrat has now realized his mistake of hurting her by behaving rudely towards her. She thought that samrat might confront to her, and closed her eyes in contentment. But, the next moment, samrat said something, which left this girl completely shocked.
"Isliye maine decide kiya hai, ki suhani ki engagement ke baad, tum hamesha ke liye ye ghar chhod ke chali jaogi. Aur rahi baat uski shaadi ki, toh main aur papa milkar sab handle kar lenge. Aur haan, abtak tumne mere liye, is family ke liye jo kuchh bhi kiya hai, uske liye thanks."
Saying this, samrat quickly went out of the room, with teary eyes.
"bas gunjan, aaj ke baad tumhe koi takleef nahi hogi……..aaj ke baad, main tumhari khushiyon ke raaste mein kabhi nahi aaunga………" he thought, as he clenched his hand into a fist to control his emotions.
And in the room, there stood a heartbroken gunjan, trying to realize that whatever samrat said to her few seconds ago was not a dream, but reality. Her eyes, which were filled with happiness and contentment, now became teary she was not upset because samrat said to leave the house forever, but because she realized that there was nothing left in their relationship.
And with this impulsive yet firm decision, samrat and gunjan went downstairs to welcome the guests.
