Maan: Oh ok.....haan woh...WHAT????......all this time you were talking about my lingo??
Geet: Haan......kyun....what did you think?
Maan:.......nahi...er I mean nothing......
Geet: Soo........hmmm what's your excuse haan?

Geet: Haan...what are you? Excited or Nervous??? *imitating Maan's style from earlier*
Maan obviously knew she was pulling his leg

Maan: Haha nothing Geet.......*thinking hard for his sudden strange behaviour - never had he ever mixed his lingo and yet here talking to Geet, it just happened without him even realising....yaar does she always have to make an issue out of everything – couldn't she just leave it.....*
then a thought struck Maan

Geet:..are responding in mixed lingo too *with a huge smile creeping up on her face* Arre wah.......I thought only I was capable of having such crazy thoughts....but no you were fab yaar....you sounded sooo kool with your mixed lingo....wow good on you.......lagta hai sangat ka assar ho raha hai..dheere hi sahi........hmm bohot aache....
Both Maan and Geet cracked up with laughter......they were both laughing their heads off at their new found language of mixed words and how they easily slipped in and out of it with ease.....truly they were both sharing a right old laugh together after gosh knows how long..........amongst this, both heard the other laugh and subconsciously their smiles grew bigger at knowing the other was genuinely happy -over what and why....hmm that didn't seem to matter right this moment...the fact that they were able to share a laugh and actually enjoy this moment after such a huge gap of time, was all that mattered.
Both carried on talking on the phone - getting back at each other at times, full tu masti, at times Geet would think she's gone overboard with her talking and have to stop in between for breathers - giving Maan a chance to allow his voice to be heard only to be buckled down again once Geet got her energy back together and had another kissa of hers to tell or discuss.
It had been over an hour and actually coming upto nearly an hour and a half and they had talked about everything from their friends one had lost contact with yet the other was still in contact with, their schooling years after DPS, why they chose or rather were forced to join this college now, what subjects they had taken and oooo also the wonderful time they had in their fave subject ever...DRAMA. Ok maybe not exactly about the performance and ahem their fantasies but certainly about Ms. Parker and her hopeless attempts of getting people to work and then her incredible love for food. and Yet they still could go on and on and on and on...... it was like giving a thirsty man water - just not enough!!!!
It was nearing 2 hours of their phone conversation now, but they wouldn't have realised until of course Maan heard a beeping sound comig from the phone.....at first he was confused - he thought it would be coming from Geet's side and didn't say much thinking she'll handle it and also because he didn't want to stop her in the middle of her "bhashans" again, in case she got upset again – and under no costs did he want that to happen...he was liking this...the fact that they were able to talk without any inhibitions and all.....but it was getting irritating....
Maan: Err Geet....is that you....?
Geet who was in the middle of her sentence and rudely interrupted once again by his highness took offence (typical Geet)
Geet: What??? Maan you've been talking to me for soo long....abhi tak nahi pata that this is Geet....kya hua hai.....?
Maan: Uff no Geet....the beeping sound...is that you?
Geet: Beeping....konsa beeping kaisa beeping? Oiii what are you talking about.............? Dekho if you're fed up with my talks toh saaf saaf bolo na....why you making excuses haan...dekhoo....you phoned me -I didn't phone you......
*and Geet went on and on and on.....Maan knew she wouldn't stop so he checked his own phone to see if it was from his side......and to his shock he saw that the battery was about to die*
.....NOOOOOOOOOOOO omg omg omg iss battery ko bhi abhi jaana tha.....uffff...........now what.....omg I have to run to the living room......uffooo...... Geet...geet suno....hey listen...*but nothing worked as Maan tried to get Geet's attention to tell her not to worry if the phone goes quiet for a bit......but she was not hearing a word he said and kept on rambling on* uff.....she's certainly one of a kind.....how she can talk so much only God knows....er but what am I doing sitting here.....Maan runnn.....this phone will die any second......runn......
As Maan ran out of his room, and headed down the stairs to get to the living room he stumbled across Dev, who he pushed aside aggressively in hope to get to the living room asap incase the phone died.........and just his luck.......as he reached the living room and picked up the receiver of the wired phone, the cordless died out on him.
Dev: Hey Bro...what the.......? What happened? Wheres the fire?
Maan glared over to Dev.....
Dev: Ok fine......now if you're done with the phone, Can I have it please...?
Maan: errr the battery's died....... *as he handed Dev the lifeless cordless in his hand and looked up to see shock all over his face*
Dev: What???? But how? I mean....
Maan: I don't know, I was talking and all of a sudden I heard these weird beeping sounds and then saw the battery sign flashing and then just aas I got here it went blank.....you know I always knew they were a stupid idea.....I think the battery's have worn out......tell dad to get some new ones......these rinse out too quick...
Dev: Tooo quick?? Bro....honestly...how long were you on the phone for........*and then Dev realises that Maan had the other phone to his ear*

You're still on the phone???? What??? Bro....dude.....you've been on that phone for 2 hours!!!! Obviously the cordless won't stand that long.....
Maan's face lost colour......2 hours??? What???no no.....really???
Dev:.....Omg bro..who are you on the phone?? and this long?? Wow not even mum spends this much time on the phone when she's talking to her friends - and you and me both know she can talk for ages!!!!!
Maan: er...Dev...woh......I told you...it's an important call...so er.........do you mind.....go away!!!!
Dev: Go away?? Bro....I needed to make a call some good hour ago and I've been waiting for you to finish your conversation.........I even came to check up and heard you were talking - thought you were on a different call on your mobile...didn't know you were still on the same call and the same goddamn phone!!!!!
Maan: DEV!!!!!!
Dev: ok ok ....I'm going...gosh....but hurry up.......I've been waiting far too long!!! *and with that said..Dev went upstairs to place the phone on the charger in his parent's room and then back into his room*
As soon as Maan knew Dev was nowhere near the vicinity, he turned his attention back to Geet who believe it not was still talking and had been oblivious to the phone going dead and the entire happening with Dev just now. *Maan let out a chuckle acknowledging Geet's unaware state and listened in, to Geet*
Geet on the other hand had been rambling on and on..........but having not heard anything back from MAan in a while (well you see, Geet would hear the occasionally "hmm" and "haan" but for the past few minutes nothing) Geet began to think she'd spoken a bit too much....(well you don't say) She began to think that Maan had finally gotten bored of her or something and hung up.........or perhaps he'd fallen asleep...hai hai....Geet tu bhi na - kisne kaha tha itna bol ne ke liye......uff - tu usko bolne ka mauqa bhi toh deh sakti thi naa.....bechare ne tujhe help ki, tujhe phone karke bataya that he found your planner - help kin a...varna who knows tu ab tak kya kya kar baithi hoti........aur toone usse hi nahi bolne ka mauqa diya...hai.......
Maan who had been a silent witness to this all that Geet was saying began to sense that she was getting over worked up and could sense that she was really upset thinking he'd hung up on her......he didn't like her to feel that...but he was really enjoying her self-talk.........before she began crying her eyes out he had to tell her he was still here.............
Humph...nahi bolta toh kya hua....mujhpe phone cut kar diya...mujhpe Geet hand ape...oh no he didn't......how dare he.......humph *and Geet put the receiver down -hoping to end the call from her side too - little did she know that until Maan puts his phone down or until a minute passes, the call didn't disconnect*
No sooner had Geet put the phone down, had she again picked it up with the thought that he'd called her for her planner and amongst all her chattering and all they hadn't come to a conclusion about the planner....oh god.......
she picked the phone up and was just about to dial when she realised - she didn't have his number!!!!!!
Oh nooo......toone toh phone bhi cut kardiya.......but how will I call him back now - I mean i don't even have his number........but wait...he has mine na.....sooo he'll call me back.....but nai nai.....after listening to soo much from me.....kya woh phir call karega...nai na.....uff Geet tub hi na......babaji - aapne mujhe bolna kyun sikhaya???? agar main na bolti, tho main carry away na hoti, nah woh bore hota, nahi woh call end karta aur na hi main yahan baith ke phirse baatein bana rahi hoti.......
By now Maan was actually amused...Geet's mood changed within seconds...you could never know exactly what mood she was in - because she could never hold it for than 5 seconds......this girl was truly a one-piece!
Maan: GEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Geet jumped.......having thought Maan had hung up and then she too had done the same - she thought the call would've ended and then suddenly hearing his voice - was far too big a fright!!!!
Geet: What is it MK??? Marwana hai kya????? *Still trying to calm down*
Maan smiled again at hearing her say MK - somehow each time she said it there was something different about it........
Maan: GEET! Dare you talk like that again!!!.........*clearly not happy at her talk about death, and then realising what he just did.........* Calm down Geet *telling himself moreso than Geet*..............you were talking and not listening to me so I didn't know what to do and had to shout your name............I'm sorry
Geet: Hmmmm it's ok................I'm sorry too...for not listening.....
Maan: hmm it's ok too..
Geet: But where had you gone? You know how worried.....no I mean scared...noo..I mean....you know I thought you had hung up on me....me Geet Handa......and...woh erm we still hadn't come to a conclusion about the planner.......toh.....
Maan: hmmm well the battery on the cordless was dying out......since we've been on the phone for.....believe it or not..........more than 2 hours......haha so I had to change phones - that's why it may have seemed quiet.......but you don't worry I heard everything you said *in case she began her rambling once again...and another 2 hours went down the drain....Dev would kill him for that*
Geet: What?? 2 Hours??? But we haven't even spoken about anything...........and woh planner....
Maan: "Noo Geet, I haven't spoken about anything ....i.e. such as your planner........you've spoken alot" thought Maan in his head
Maan: Er....well Geet I have a solution.....well......erm...if you don't mind that is....
Geet: Ohh no no I don't mind *getting the hint that he wanted her to call him....well it was only fair that way – he had spent 2 hours on the phone – imagine the bill* erm well but i'll need your number, wait let me get a pen......
Maan: Ohh noooo nooo I didn't mean to call me back....nooo I was going to say...erm...well....perhaps if we met ....erm....say at the park.....you know just to hand over your planner to you......it'll be much easier...and plus erm.....the phone is kinda needed..........
*Maan crossed his fingers hoping she'll agree.....why he so eagerly wanted to meet her at the park when they could easily talk over the phone about her planner details – he didn't know but what he did know was that he wanted to meet her and carry on this phone convo, the planner was merely just an excuse*

Geet: Erm......welll Ok...I don't mind......erm.....but...I can't meet right now.....erm......maybe about 20 mins or so....is that ok?
Maan: Oh yhhhh yhh that's fine.......I er have a few things to do anyway...*lying through his teeth, all he had to do was see Geet – WHAT??? he shooes the thoughts away*
erm besides it'll take me some time to get to the park......we still haven't moved house yet....
Geet: Ohh right...yeah of course,.....erm......sooo ok then...er.....I guess...erm
Maan: I guess......I'll....see you later then......
Geet: hmm....yhhh....
Maan: er...ok then....er bye........
Geet: er...yh,.....bye...
Maan: ok see you in 20 then.....
Geet: hmm yhh
It was obvious both were reluctant to hang up....neither wanted to be the first to hang up...
Maan: Ok then.....cya later........by---------------------------------------------------
Maan: DEV what was that for? I was talking!!!!
Dev: Yeah I can see you were talking.......for the past 5 minutes you've been saying the same lines again and again...................gosh bro what's gotten into you???
Maan: Nothing...here -now hog the phone as much as you want..I'm going out.....tell mum i'll be back a little late....
Dev: What?? Bro you sure you're ok?
Maan gave a weird look to Dev - why was he asking the same question again and again
Dev saw the look: Well you've just been on the phone for more than 2 hours and even then I had to end it for you and now you're suddenly going out without prior notice or plans -and if i'm not wrong you're going to meet the same person you were on the phone to jsut now....right?? *raising his eyebrows with a mischievious look in his eyes*
Maan: No.......you're wrong......i've been on the phone for sooo long.....er talking about work...that i need a little fresh air...so just going out......
Dev: with.....?
Maan: No one....can't i just go out by myself.......hmmm......er stop this interrogation of yours.....you wanted the phone right...you have it now - so shoot...stop pestering me - I'm going....
and with that said, Maan dashed up to his room, grabbed his mobile and a jacket and dashed down the stairs only to go back up to his room and grab teh paper with Geet's number on it - somehow he had a feeling he'll be needing this -and dashed out of the house -heading towards the park....towards his Gee....no no......he wasn't going to think anything like that..Dev's right... WHAT has gotten into him??
Geet on the other hand had been a little surprised with the abrupt end to the call - she was angry that she didn't get to say a final bye and he had hung up (awwww not fair na?) but then she did console herself after realising she had just agreed to meet him in the park...that too in 20 mins....omg omg omg......she ran to her wardrobe and pulled out everything - she checked everything but nothing seemed good enough.....why she wanted to look nice she had no idea but she just wanted to look good.....for him....FOR HIM??? WHAT??????
Geet finally settled for length denim jeans and a pink kurti with light white coloured embroidery on teh neck and ends of the half sleeves.....she chose small studs to wear with that too. and she was ready! she stood there looking at herself in the mirror......and then she caught sight of her diary in the reflection, she looked over at the clock - she still had another 10minutes......omg she had to do a diary entry.....she had to pen down the array of emotions she was feeling and so she set to it.............hheehehehehe(in case you're wondering page 1 was the diary entry)
After she finished her diary talking.............she sat up and just walked aimlessly back and forth in her room - thinking........passing time.....it was taking ages for these 20 minutes to get over. the park was about 2 minutes away from her house and she certainly didn't want to end up going there too early - in case he thought she was too eagar or despo types but she didn't want to go late either..........it wouldn't look nice.........she'd already wasted too much time of his by yapping on the phone..........PHOENE?? Omg......
she ran to the phone that was once again ringing it's head off.......she had hoped it wouldn't be someone who would keep her long - she certainly wouldn't know how to disappoint someone for not being able to stay and chat............and she certainly coldn't tell anyone where she was going or what she was doing........she half heartedly picked up the phone only to hear his sweet voice again......
Maan: Hey it's me....just called to let you know - I'm nearly there and your 20 minutes are nearly over.......hehe I'll meet you by the fountain........ok?
Geet: Hmmm *didn't know what to say - all of a sudden her ability to talk had disappeared*
Maan: Hmmm and oh yes...............
Geet: Haan? *getting happy that he actually had something to say this time*
Maan: You don't need to dress up for me or anything...you're good as it is..........
Geet: What? *not quite sure she'd heard it right*
Maan: er....bu...woh....I said......erm.........woh.. I'm nearly there - see you soon*suddenly realising what he'd let slip from his tongue and was about to hang up*
Geet: hahaha it's ok dude................er yh....be there in 2 ... cya
and with that said – both hung up with smiles across their faces.........both feeling slightly relieved that the awkwardness was gone yet nervous to see each other.
