Character Sketch and Prologue

The Mehta's

Nikita Mehta: A beautiful twenty-four year old with a dark past whom everyone believes will have a gloomy future as well. Nikki loves to sing and dance, and her passion is to become a doctor so she can help the unfortunate kids who suffered throughout their childhood like she did.

Naina Mehta: Nikita's younger sister and a complete mini version of her too. As of now, she is 19 and in college.

Jay and Smriti Mehta: Parents of Nikita and Naina. Died nine years ago leaving their daughters with Smriti's stepsister and her husband and daughters.

The Gupta's

Shashank and Padma Gupta: Nikki and Naina's masa and masi, who hate them.

Riddhima Gupta: 22, Stuck-up daughter of Rahul and Juhi.

Anjali Gupta: 24, Sister of Riddhima, but is the good one.

The Modi's

Sujal Mallik: A fun-loving jolly man who loves his family.

Kashish Mallik: An excellent wife and mother.

Abhimanyu Mallik: A carefree Casanova who wants to throw money everywhere.

Armaan Mallik: Abhimanyu's twin brother and exactly like him.

Prologues/Introductions

*Destiny. What is destiny? According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, destiny is a predetermined course of events. What about fate then? Fate is defined as an inevitable course of events. But what can change destiny? I know. It's the one thing I crave -- a one true love. Dear Diary, Ma always used to say that I'd find my one true love. Where is he now? And where will my kismat lead me? Will I ever be able to find true love in the midst of a city like Mumbai?

*Dear Diary, why does everyone misinterpret me so much? I know I'm mean and rude, but I'm also self-centered, which I can't change! It's not my fault, is it? I want to be like Nikita. She's so nice and sweet, which is why everyone loves her. What do I do? How do I stop? I talk before I think, and that impulse makes me repent myself. Well, if I can't be like her, I can torture her as much as possible. But that's not right! Oh diary, what do I do?!
