Chapter 17

Maan: Dev I want to introduce you to my main staff members...this is Adi our head accountant, Sasha: is the head arcitect and tasha is her assistant...if you need any files or any information you can call our receptionist Pinky...Everyone else please welcome Dev..he will be joining our company today
Dev: Thank you everyone hopefully I will bring my full effort and work diligently
Maan: Alright thank you guys...Dev let's go to my cabin
Dev: wow nice office staff you have here
Maan: Yeah thanx...listen I have a meeting in couple in about 10 minutes until then I will have Pinky show you your cabin
Dev: Alright that is cool
Sasha knocked on his cabin door: MK sorry to disturb you but the clients have arrived early for your meeting
Maan: umm alright I will be right there...Sasha could you tell Pinky to show Dev his cabin
Sasha: Sure Sir (saw Dev smiling at her)
Dev: Thank you Sasha
Maan: Alright Dev I will see you after meeting

When Maan left the office he noticed that he left his cell phone behind. He picks up his cell and dials home. Geet heard the phone ring.. "I knew it Maan you can't ignore me for a long time"
Geet: Hello Maan I knew you would not be mad at me
Dev didn't say anything just kept listening to her voice
Geet: Hello Maan please say something
Geet: Alright fine baba am sorry
Geet: Sargam must've heard me calling you Dhust Danav
Geet: Maan you there?
Geet: you are acting like a dhust danave right now
Geet: fine I won't talk to you when you come home...if you want to stay quiet then I too can play the same game...
Dev smiled hearing Geet talk: Hi Geet
Geet disapointed that it wasn't Maan: Ji who is this?
Dev: You don't recognize my voice?
Geet: Ji...woh...
Dev: I called to ask how is Dadima doing?
Geet: woh theek hai...aur kuch?
Dev: tum kya kar rahi ho?
Geet: I have to go now..bye (slams the phone down)
Dev looked at the phone in his hand: one day Geet one day you yourself will call me and I will be waiting for your call...(smiling)
Pinky: Sorry to disturb you but I was called to show you your cabin
Dev: Sure let's go but you can call me Dev
Pinky: Ji Sir

They both walked out...Pinky gave Dev a brief tour of the whole office before going to the cabin which was right next to Maan.
Dev: hmm nice cabin
Pinky: Ji thank you sir..this used to be Geet Ma'am cabin
Dev smiled: what..no wonder it is nice
Pinky: Ji? (confused)
Dev: ummm I meant she worked here before?
Pinky: Ji she was Maan sirs secretary
Dev: hmm how come she doesn't join the office back?
Pinky: ji I don't know..after marriage she quit the job
Dev: Alright well thanx
Pinky: No problem sir

Dev sat down on the chair and smiled..."too bad you don't work in the office anymore" laughed out loud...he heard Maan coming in..
Maan: What are you doing here? I was looking for you in my cabin
Dev: Pinky was showing me my cabin
Maan: This is not your cabin..I asked her to show you a different one
Dev: another one? What is wrong with this one?
Maan: woh actually this used to be Geet's and I don't allow anyone to use this cabin
Dev sounding upset: Ohh ok..I understand...where is my cabin?
Maan: actually Dev it is fine you can stay here..
Dev smiled: Thanx Maan...ohh how is your meeting?
Maan: I just came to get my phone..it is not in the cabin
Dev: Ohh I have it..I borrowed it to call home
Maan: Home? Is everything alright at home?
Dev: yeah i just called to ask if Dadima is fine or not
Maan: Ohh ok..
Dev hands Maan his phone and he left for the rest of the meeting. Dev sat back on the chair relaxed...

Geet: pura din hogaya aur Maan ne ek bar bhi phone nahi kiya..aur woh kamine Dev ki awaaz mujhe suni pari...aane do ghar Maan ko...mein baat bhi nahi karoongi inse
Dadima saw Geet looking upset in the kitchen: Geet what happend?
Geet: Dadima Maan ne aaj call nahi ki...inta gussa choti baat se karna koyi inse puche
Dadima laughed: Geet woh shayid busy hoge
Geet: Nahi Dadima...jab woh ghar aayge mein unse baat nahi karoongi
Dadima: Geet you know what I will help you..teach Maan a lesson
Geet: really Dadima?? You are the best!
Dadima: of course how dare he be mad at my daughter-in-law
Geet: Right Dadima...ok what is the plan?
Dadima: ok so when Maan come home......

The meeting took longer then expected for Maan..he was getting restless...he wanted to call Geet but couldn't get a time at all...he didn't even get to say proper goodbye to her in the morning...he was pretending to get mad at her for fun... he couldn't wait to go home...
