Part 3

Maan was mad as hell and frustrated and wanted to kill the beast himself.

Maan 'Pinky you don't have to come to office for a few days. Take care of Geet and leave the rest to me. I will see to it that beast rots in hell. Try and talk to Geet about giving the statement. Try to find out why isn't she interested in giving her statement.'

Pinky 'thank you Maan. Don't worry I will be coming to office tomorrow.'

Maan 'If you will come to office tomorrow then who will take care of Geet. Don't worry I can manage without you for a few days.'

Pinky 'ok thanks once again Maan.'

Maan 'don't you ever think of thanking me again.'

Pinky 'yes boss' smiling despite the problem.

Maan could not sleep at night thinking what kind of man is Dev –who behaves like this with there life partner. Maan was pacing around like a caged tiger who couldn't do a thing unless and until Geet will give her statement. He wanted to see the beast crying for mercy who gave so much pain to his friend and her angel sister. Maan could not get the image Geet lying so lifeless, so frightened , so fragile. It kept haunting him whole of the night the way Geet was crying and the way she was saying 'don't beat me Dev I will do everything you say.'

Next day he contacted the best lawyers in town to work on Geet's case. He knew he was going beyond limits and have not consulted Pinky for it but he wanted Geet free from Dev's clutches as soon as possible. He felt he have to do this much for Pinky and flso for the sake of humanity. Everyday evening for a few days he used to visit Pinky and was relieved to hear that Geet was recovering slowly but she was not at all ready to give her statement against Dev. Everyday she used to scream in her dreams and once got more afraid seeing Maan in the room. So he never used to go in front of her.

After two weeks Geet healed fully from outside but within she was sore. She started trusting Maan and was friendly with him within a few days. He used to talk to her help her in walking properly, took both Pinky and Geet for outings but always felt that Geet never opened up freely with him.

One evening when he went to Pinky's apartment he rang bell many times but no one answered. He felt a wave of panick. Then he thought he was worrying for no reason. Pinky and Geet must have gone out. He went back and sat in his car and was about to drive back to his apartment when his mobile phone rang . He checked the caller id and saw it was Pinky. Smiling he picked up the phone and was horror struck when he heard Pinky crying hysterically and unable to speak anything clearly.

Maan ' Pinky what happened ? why are you crying? Where are you? Stopping crying and tell me what happened. I am not able to understand a word.'

Pinky 'Maan where are you? '

Maan 'Pinky I am outside you apartment. I rang the bell but no one answered. Where are you?'

Pinky' Maan was that you outside my apartment. Come inside I will open the door.'

Maan 'ok.'

When Pinky opened the door she quickly drew in Maan and shut the door abruptly. She was shaking and crying badly. Panic rose in Maan and couldn't find Geet. He was worried what if something wrong had happened. He asked Pinky what was it? Why was she crying?

Pinky ' he was here Maan. Dev came her to take back Geet. When I refused to open the door he started banging the door and calling bad names loudly. He said he is watching us and won't leave without taking Geet back with her. I could feel him him try talking to other people in the building to ask me to open the gate. When Geet heard his face she panicked and fainted . I didn't knew how to manage him. So I locked the door and took care of Geet. Right now she is sleeping in her room. I have given her sedatives so that she can sleep soundly. I am very afraid Maan. I don't know what to do. So when you knocked on the door I thought he has come back. So I remembered if I will call police he will say that no one can stop him from taking his wife home. So I thought of calling you and somehow I knew you will be here to help us. Tell me Maan what should I do. I cannot allow to go back with that beast.'

Maan was angry beyong limits how dare Dev trouble the two angels of his life. He will soon have to deal with Dev otherwise Pinky and Geet wont be safe. H e will have to think of a way but right now his priority is to get Pinky and Geet to a safe place. So without giving a single thought he set into action .

Maan ' Pinky pack yours and Geet's thing. You both are going with me. I can't afford to loose my two best friends. I don't want to hear anything. Just pack your bags. You are not coming back here until and unless I get that Dev behind bars.'

Then he took out his phone and dialed his best friend Adi's no.

Maan ' hi Adi , Maan here,. Listen I don't have time for formalities I need a favour and its urgent. Listen I am giving you an address reach there as soon as possible and see to it there is not one around lurking behind any thing and keeping an eye on this address. I will explain you later on what is going on. Ya reach fast as soon as you can. Inform me when you have made a thorough check.'

Part 4

After 15mins Pinky was ready with her and Geet's belongings. Maan was waiting for Adi's call.

As soon as Adi informed him that there is a person just standing outside Pinky's apartment Maan got tensed. He went to window and saw that a well built man was lurking around looking for and open window or door. He called Pinky near him just by her reaction he knew that man was none other than Dev . He will deal with him later right now he has to get Pinky and Geet out safely. He consoled Pinky and told her nothing will happen as he is here. He will not let Dev touch a hair of Geet. He called Adi.

Maan ' Adi, can you distract that man you told me about for 5 mins. Take him somewhere out of site and don't let him see the door of apartment keep your mobile on so that I can hear when you have distracted him. And then come to my apartment and see that no one follows us.'

As soon as Maan heard that Adi has distracted Dev he asked Pinky to pick there baggages and he went to pick up Geet from her room. They got out from the apartment quickly and reached his car in time to see that Adi was having trouble in keeping Dev distracted for a long time. They quickly got in and drove away at full speed. They reached Maan's apartment within ten mins. Soon Adi followed. Maan carried Geet in one of the spare bedrooms and asked Pinky to settle in with Geet. He called his housekeeper Tony and instructed him to take care of Pinky and Geet and to prepare a meal for all of them right now.

While Pinky went to her room Maan asked Adi that he will explain everything later on but first he should call all his friends – Aayan, Ranbir, Nishant, Milind and also Josh Pinky's fianc. He want all of them here as soon as possible. He went to check in Geet and Pinky. When all his friends were there including Josh he told all of them about Dev and what happened with Geet. Josh was very grateful to him for saving both Geet's and Pinky's life. When Josh said that he can take Geet and Pinky back to his house Maan said no he cannot take the risk because maybe Geet has already told Dev about Pinky's engagement with him. Together they all formulated a plan as how to how to deal with the situation. In the end it was decided that Pinky would leave from office along with Josh and he would drop her back here at Maan's apartment. And as far as Geet was concerned Maan decided he will work from home and Pinky will get him files and report back in evening. If Maan has to leave the house for any important thing Pinky will stay back. And meantime rest all Maan's friends would try to be friends with Geet so that she could trust anyone of them if need to be alone with them.

They all had dinner and returned to their respective places. Morning when Geet woke up she was shocked to see a new place and was about to scream when she saw Maan entering the room with a food tray. She relaxed a bit and was about to question him but he stopped her with a gesture.

Maan ' Geet before you ask me any question you better be quite , get some food into you and we will talk then.'

Geet was about to say something again when he said 'don't even think about opening your mouth except to eat. So eat otherwise I will feed you myself.'

After Geet finished eating Maan set aside the tray and said ' now ask what all you want to.'

Geet ' Maan how come I am here. Last I remember we were in Pinky's apartment and suddenly we heard someone banging the door violently. The Pinky peeked through the door hole and went numb. When she didn't answer me I peaked through myself and after that I could not remember anything. All I remember is I saw Dev before darkness claimed me. Oh god Pinky where is she? Is she alright? Maan I need to get her. Dev will hurt her. '

She was frantic with hurry and was busy getting out of bed when Maan stilled her with firm hands on her shoulders. 'wait Geet. Pinky is safe . don't worry about her . She is in office right at this moment. So don't worry nothing will go wrong now that I am here.'

Geet 'can I talk to her. I will not be able to relax until and unless I hear her voice.'

Maan ' ya sure.'

After talking to Pinky Geet was relaxed.

Anagd ' Geet don't worry nothing will happen to Pinky or to you. I will noit allow that Dev near you or Pinky atleast by 50 meters. So relax. Can I ask you something .?

Geet 'what is it Maan? '

Maan 'Geet why are you not ready to divorce Dev. I mean look at the way he treated you. Is it the first time he behaved like that with you? Was he abusive before that also?'

Geet couldn't answer him. She remained quite and Maan got his answer. Just thinking about it had him filled with rage again. He was amazed at himself that he was still sitting here and was not out there beating the crap out of Dev.

Maan 'Geet you need to testify against this man. Why are you not? Is there anything that is stopping you to testify against him?

Geet 'Maan I need to go back.'

Maan 'go back where?'

Geet 'Maan Dev is my husband. I have to be back at home. I don't remember how many days it has been since I am here. I need to get back now.'

Maan 'Geet are you mad. You want to go back to that person who gave you so much pain. No you are not going back. I can't see both the special ladies in my life in so much pain. You don't know what state Pinky is in seeing you like that. So you are not going anywhere. If I have to lock you inside this room forever I will.'

Geet 'Maan you don't understand. I have to go back to Dev otherwise we all will be ruined. I know Dev. Believe me if the cost to protect my loved ones is to stay in hell with that beast I am ready to do that. But I wont let him harm him her.'

Anagd 'Geet what are you talking about. How will Dev try to hurt someone and who are you talking about….ur loved ones. All I know is that its just you and Pinky. Your parents died in a car accident and your relatives abandoned you. So its just leaves you and Pinky.'

Suddenly it stuck to him that it must be Pinky whom Geet is trying to protect. But what could be possibly wrong with Pinky. He mussing over his own thoughst when he heard Geet saying 'Maan move I need to leave now.'

To buy time Maan said 'Geet wait if you want to go I wont stop you from leaving. But I think its not good for you to leave right at this moment. It seems Dev is very angry at this moment. Stay here for a few days and let his anger cool down then you can go.'

Geet thought for a moment and Maan was praying silently that Geet would buy this so that he will get some time to sort out this whole mess. At last Geet agreed and Maan heaved a sigh of relief.

Now Maan thought he has to act fast otherwise he won't be able to help Geet.
