Geet 'Maan it was very nice of you to share your past with me and believe me not a word will go out of this room. I hope I can maintain your trust in me. And I am not your family. Since when am I included in your family? We hardly know each other for a few days.'

Maan 'Geet you became my family since the day I accepted Pinky as my sister. And whereas the matter of knowing is concerned I agree that we met just a few days ago. But it felt as I knew you before because I can say every waking moment Pinky used to sing your praises in front of me. I formed your image according to what she told me and I was right. You are exactly what she described. But one thing I disagree with. She told me you were bold. But I guess you are not. '

He moved to stand in front of her eye to eye and said 'Geet what happened with Dev tell me. Who are you trying to protect? Trust me. I won't let you down. Just trust me once I will do anything in my power to protect you. Please Geet please.'

Geet stood numbed for moment and then sighed as if she resigned fighting the demons she was facing. Hope blossomed in Maan that maybe he will get to know the reason behind all this trouble and he was proven right after a few minutes. Geet staggered towards the window and said 'Maan I am trusting someone's future in your hand and I have full faith in you that you won't fail me. It so happened when I was 12yrs and Pinky 10yrs. We had a normal family a set of parents and two loving daughters. But no one knew that our parents never agreed with one another. They always used to fight and my father used to abuse my mother. One day my father was badly drunk and he threatened to kill my mother with a knife. My mother rebelled back and in fighting each other my mother got killed. I and Pinky were watching the whole fight and we were stunned by what happened. Pinky got so angry that she straight away marched into room and pushed my father hard towards a table. We never noticed that in all this fighting the table was broken from one side its edges sharp. His head hit the edge deeply that my father lost a lot of blood and died on the spot. That day we lost both our parents. I tried to drag Pinky out of this house as to protect her from police when we saw my father's brother in the doorway. He immediately locked the room and called for police. We couldn't do anything to escape the police and in the end Pinky was arrested and sent to juvenile jail. I was sent to a foster home because none of my relatives were ready to adopt me. Pinky was in jail for 5 years. I ran away from the foster home and worked my way through various temporary jobs to collect enough money to support Pinky when she was released. I supported her through her education but she was not able to concentrate on her studies. Her past – the site of blood flowing from my father's head and my mother lying lifeless haunted her. And to add to more trouble she was bullied by big girls in the prison. So to help Pinky I took her to counseling classes and when it didn't help I took Pinky to a psychologist with a little help my boss at that time. He was a 56 yrs old man the only other person who knew the whole truth and supported me enough as her daughter to be able to take care of Pinky. The psychologist brain washed the entire incident and the experiences from Pinky's brain and hypnotized her to believe she was sent to hostel for a few yrs and our parents died in a car accident. After that she did fairly well in every field. Then one day she told me that she is in love with Josh and would like to marry him I panicked what if Josh comes across any proof from the juvenile jail. So I went to jail to request them to keep silent as Pinky's record after that was clean. I think Dev followed me there and he somehow bribed the officer to leak the proof till him. After that Dev started treating me badly. Every day he used to come home late drunk and he used to get other women home. He used to abuse me in front of them. I have to bear everything for Pinky's sake. She is my only family left. '

When she finished she saw Maan full of rage ready to explode and his eyes reflected pain and understanding.
