Thanks all for your comments.... always nice to see them... 😃

Phew!
This update has taken so much time and sapped so much of my energy! 😕 It turned out to be twice as long as my usual updates for MID..... just over 9 pages on Word! 😲 😳

I am posting it as 2 parts, but since this is a Mega Update, part 4 and 5 will be posted right away.... so no waiting for Maan-Geet milan.... 😳 😉

Since the update is so long, I am also looking for long comments.... bhoolna mat,... 😆😆
So here we go!

Part 4

Vikram Khurana entered Khurana Mansion and paused, taking in the opulence around him. The grandeur was not unexpected, hell, this is the Khuranas we are talking about, but what surprised him was the feel of home that permeated the atmosphere. There was so much belonging and love and care in the air and he decided it was all mainly due to the warmth of the graceful old lady who was now approaching him with a wide, affectionate smile on her face.

"Vicky beta, kaise hai aap?" Dadima enquired, unable to keep her excitement at having met her grandson after so many years. Agreed, his father was her nephew, but she loved all of her family the same and she just adored all her grandchildren. Vicky was another Maan and Adi to her!

Vicky bent down to take her blessings and rose up to his full height, a smile on his face. The warmth of his Dadi, the love that he had thought was just his imagination, was no illusion. She was still the same, giving due respect to kids 4 decades younger than her! As he hugged her lightly and ran his eyes around the palatial mansion around him, he silently concurred with his earlier judgment that the brick and mortar palace looked and felt like home mainly due to this exceptional woman, who had taken over the reins of the family and the business after losing her husband and her only son early in life. She had kept the family business together and had raised 3 wonderful kids, battling her own age and health. Just when he felt his eyes begin to moisten at the sudden deluge of love, he blinked his eyes rapidly and pulled himself from her, smiling gently. He was here to do his work and it wouldn't help if he breaks down himself!

"I am doing great Dadima, aap kaise hai?" he exclaimed. "Perfect!" she replied, fondly caressing his cheeks. "Woh to dikh raha hai. Aap aaj bhi waise hi sexy lag rahe ho jaise aap 10 saal pehle lag rahe they.. Owww.." he screamed in mock agony when Dadi pulled his ears.

"Chup badmaash" Dadi retorted, "aap bilkul nahi badle 10 saal mein" She hugged him once again and whispered, "Aur kabhi badalna bhi mat"

"Dadi, aapka ek aur pota aagaya aur aap aapki iss poti ko bhool gaye" wailed Pinky as she rushed down the stairs with Adi just behind her. She was so happy to see her other brother and she happily rushed into his arms when he spread his hands wide open for her.

After the family, minus Maan, caught up with each other's life, they settled down in the cozy and snug armchairs in the library, waiting for Maan to come home for dinner. Once Pinky's chatter finally died down, Dadi turned to Vicky.

"Aapke pita ne aapko sab kuch bataya na?" she prodded cautiously. If his father had not confided in him the details, she was not sure if she will have the courage to proceed further on the case. She still shuddered at the thought of what had happened the last time they had tried to do something similar..

"Haan Dadi.. Dad told me everything" he replied and caught Dadi heaving a sigh of relief. He understood her worries and hesitation in moving forward with it and he held her hand reassuringly. "Trust me Dadi. Maan is a brother to me and we will not let him suffer any further"

He looked at the 3 faces that had varied degrees of worry etched and raised his voice slightly. "But I am going to need all your help here. Under no cost must Maan come to know that the main reason for me coming to Delhi is to take up his case. Usko shak bhi nahi hona chahiye ki woh mera patient hai aur mein uska psychiatrist hoon"

"But Vicky, if Maan doesn't know that you will be his doctor, how will he cooperate for the sessions?" Adi voiced his concern and Vicky nodded his head. "Lekin pichli baar usko patha tha. And did it make a difference?"

"Dad told me what happened when he tried hypnotizing Maan soon after the accident, to try and bring out his forgotten memories. Lekin mujhe sirf medical details patha hai. Dadima, kya aap mujhe bata sakte hai tab kya hua?"

Dadi closed her eyes as the incident floated in front of her eyes and looked up at Vicky with moist eyes. "Tab Maan already 2-3 mahine hospital mein tha and his bones were healing well. Lekin woh hamesha khoya khoya rehta tha. He used to try so hard to remember about Geet but it always made him have a terrible headache and he even passed out a few times. When the doctors warned him not to stress his brain so much, I had to intervene and made him promise that he will listen to what the doctors said and get better first before searching for Geet. He finally relented and stopped taxing his brain but his nightmares never stopped. Har raat woh Geet ki naam cheek kar uttha tha and he had to be sedated every time he woke up from the nightmares. So I decided to take psychiatric help and spoke to your father. Your father was sure it was post-traumatic shock that was keeping those memories away from him and thought hypnotizing him will be a good start. Maan was not very happy with it but for my sake he agreed to get hypnotized, to see if we can get his lost memory back."

She shuddered at the memories and continued, "Lekin uss din.. we almost lost Maan! When he was hypnotized your father started asking him questions about Geet but initially he never answered them. But soon he started shaking so badly and then he broke apart. I have never seen him so violent and aggressive. Woh tab bhi beemar tha lekin patha nahi kahaan se itna shakti aaya ki woh sab kuch thodne laga. Itna gussa humne kabhi nahi dekha Maan ki aankhon mein. Woh apne aap pe itna gussa tha aur khud ko bohut chot pohunchane laga. Bohut mushkil se hum sab milkar usse sambhala aur woh 3 din tak behosh tha uske baadh. But when he opened his eyes again, he had no memory of his violent episode but he never allowed your father to come near him once again. Even your father did not want to cause any more damage to his fragile mental health and left immediately. Uske baad we could never talk to him about getting help again. Jab bhi hume woh din yaad aaya hum bohut ghabrane lage. Kahin agli baar woh kuch ghalat na kar baite. Lekin aaj bhi he gets these violent episodes at times and he becomes self destructive. Patha nahi usse itna gussa kyun aatha hai aur khudh ko itna chot kyun pohunchtha hai"

Tears were streaming down her eyes by the time she finished her recollection and Vicky took her into a hug even as Adi embraced a sobbing Pinky.

"Dadi", Vicky started slowly after a few minutes. "Aap mujpe yakeen keejiye. I am ready to do any help for Maan. Uske paas itna loving family hai ki woh bohut jald teek hojayega. I will take his case but until Maan and I become good friends nobody will tell him that I am his doctor"

He stood up and paced the floor of the library, explaining his deductions to the 3 of them. " Usko khud se itna gussa aatha hai matlab woh guilty feel kar raha hai. Usse lagta hai ki he lost Geet due to his own helplessness aur isiliye woh itna violent aur aggressive hai. And I think it is this guilt that is keeping his memories from coming out. It has formed a shell around his sub-conscious mind and suppressing his memories of Geet inside, to protect those memories from getting lost like how he lost Geet"

"To agar Geet milgayi to kya Maan bhi teek hojayega?" Adi sounded hopeful and Vicky smiled at his loyalty towards his friend. "Shayad. Agar Geet milgayi to uske guilty feeling door hojayega. At least he will respond to some form of medication and maybe will even cooperate with me. Lekin uskeliye pehle Geet hume milna bohut zaroori hai"

Next afternoon

Nainital

Pinky got down from the car and stretched herself, yawning widely. She loosened her muscles that seemed to have stiffened following the almost 6 hour journey from Delhi by road. They had left early that morning and she had been chattering throughout the drive, while Adi simply shook his head and indulged her in her talks. She now stood next to their car, looking around at the Mall Road, while she waited for Adi to be back with some tea for the both of them.

Saturday afternoon seemed like a mela in Nainital and she thought every resident was out here on Mall Road! The roads were so crowded, with people jostling each other and the usual sounds and smells of a market place hung heavy in the air. As she looked at the sparkling waters of the Naini lake at a short distance away, she shivered lightly at the chill in the air and unconsciously tightened her arms around herself. Soon the sights and the sounds faded away as she thought back to dinner last night at home with Maan.

Maan had arrived soon after their talk with Vicky and dinner was strained, with each one trying to put on a mask of cheerfulness for the other. Maan had been polite and cordial to Vicky and the latter had been careful not to bring up anything related to the accident that may make Maan suspicious. However in spite of Vicky's best efforts to draw Maan into a conversation and become friendly with him, Maan had been distant and indifferent, answering in monosyllables and sometimes not answering at all! Vicky had been observing Maan throughout the dinner and was surprised to see the extent of damage the accident had caused to his cousin's psyche. He remembered Maan as a quiet person, but this cold man seemed almost like a stranger to him! He had looked up at Dadi and she had nodded her head, understanding his question. This was the Maan that everyone knew post-accident!

Pinky was jolted out of her thoughts when she heard the name being called out.

"Geet.. ruk jaa! Kya keh rahi hai tu!"

***

Adi balanced two steaming mugs of masala chai in his hands as he dodged through the crowd, trying to keep the tea from spilling all over him. He had been dead tired following their drive but he smiled at the thought of Pinky who had adamantly kept herself awake even after he insisted that she go to sleep, and had been talking with him all through the journey, just so that he does not feel tired. He would never feel tired or bored with Pinky in his life! If the brother counts each word he speaks, the sister cannot shut her mouth once she opened it. And he could not imagine a life without these two, and of course Dadi.

He neared Pinky and frowned at the sight of her hugging herself to keep herself warm. He was just about to pull out the shawl from the backseat of their car when he heard the voice.

"Geet.. ruk jaa! Kya keh rahi hai tu!"

***

Geet had come to the market that bright sunny afternoon along with her best friend Rajji, to get the necessary things for a Ganesh puja that evening at the Home. Father Manchanda encouraged practicing all religions in their Home and they celebrated all festivals, very sincerely.

Rajji was almost the same age at Geet and was one of the oldest inmates of the Home. She had been found by Father Manchanda as an infant, near the lake shore and she had lived in Good Heart Home all her life. She had a degree in English Literature and in spite of Father Manchanda's many requests to go out and make a better life for herself, she had decided to teach English at the Home and was happy with the paltry money she got as her salary. And of course, she could have never left Geet behind too. Geet and Rajji had immediately found a deep bond between them soon after Geet came to live in the Home. They were able to understand the other's pain and appreciate their courage in facing it. Rajji knew all about Geet, including the torture she had to bear due to Brij and Rahul. She had been trying for quite some time to knock some sense into Geet and make her not give up and submit so easily to her evil cousin's plans. Rajji was a fiery little spitfire and she was disappointed that Geet was not fighting for herself!

They had been walking back towards the Home when suddenly Geet dropped the bombshell. "Mein yeh shaadi nahi karoongi"

She nonchalantly walked away, not waiting for Rajji while the latter was rooted still, her mouth hanging open.

"Geet.. ruk jaa! Kya keh rahi hai tu!"

Rajji hurried behind her and pulled her back when she reached her. She turned Geet to face her and searched her face, hoping that she was not joking. Geet caught the incredulous look on her friend's face and retorted indignantly, "Mein mazaak nahi kar rahi hoon. Mein yeh shaadi nahi karoongi aur meine kal raat ko Brij Veerji se keh bhi diya"

Geet looked at Rajji who was just opening and closing her mouth, unable to speak one word and lightly hit her head. "Aise kya dekh rahi hai? Tu hi baar baar kehti thi.. Geet himmat mat har.. Geet apne liye lad.. ab mein lad rahi hoon. Brij Veerji se aur meri zindagi se. Ab meri zindagi mein jo bhi hoga apni marzi se hoga.. mein kuch bhi karoon apni marzi se karoongi. So I called up Brij Veerji and told him I am not coming to Mussourie and not getting married to that low life Rahul"

"Kya? Sachi?" Rajji could not hold the excitement bubbling through her and in the middle of the bustling market road, hugged her and twirled her around, their laughter ringing in the air around them.

Adi and Pinky looked at each other, their eyes filled with happy tears. Maan was finally going to get his Geet! Pinky immediately whipped out her phone and placed the call that Maan had been waiting for, for 2 years now. "Hello, Maan Bhaiyaa.."

Part 5

Maan was literally racing along the highway, his foot pressing the gas pedal more and more with each mile covered. The minute he had heard Pinky utter Geet's name, he had rushed to his car. He had however collided into Vicky who was just entering their home and when Vicky prodded worriedly where he was running to in such a hurry, he was able to utter only her name.. Geet...

Vicky had immediately called for Dadi and in spite of his refusal, they both had tagged along with him, with Dadi stating firmly that she had the right to see her grandson's choice. The 3 of them were now in the car, Dadi had looked at Vicky worriedly when Maan had dismissed the driver and taken the wheels himself. And her fears were not misplaced, for Maan was driving through the curving ghat roads like a mad man, not once easing up on the speed. Vicky, who was seated on the passenger seat caught sight of Dadi's pale face through the rear-view mirror and immediately placed a hand on Maan's arm.

"Maan slow down.. dekho Dadi ghabra rahi hai" he whispered just enough for Maan to hear. Maan was pulled from his thoughts of Geet hearing Vicky's words and glancing at Dadi's face, cursed himself. How could he forget that Dadi was seated in the backseat and he had been driving like a race car driver, in his hurry to reach his Geet as soon as he could. He slowly eased his foot off the pedal and reduced his speed but still he managed to reach Nainital in just 4 hours, compared to the normal 6 hour journey.

***

It was dusk by the time Maan reached the address given by Adi. Adi and Pinky had silently followed Geet as soon as they made the call to Maan, trying to make themselves inconspicuous. But Geet and Rajji had been too excited to notice anything out of the ordinary around them and had reached the Home shortly. Adi immediately texted the address of the Home to Maan and the both of them had been waiting outside the Home, seated in their car to keep themselves warm from the sudden chill that seemed to envelop the tiny little hill station.

It was not long before Maan pulled up next to their car, to find a restless Pinky pacing in front of the car and Adi trying to convince her to sit inside. Maan did not even turn off the car and went running towards Adi. "Kahaan hai Geet?"

Adi looked at the wild look in Maan's eye and stepped back slightly. Before he could explain what had happened, Pinky launched herself into Maan's arms and started sobbing.

"Maan Bhaiya, Geet ko bachalo! Patha nahi kaun lekin 4-5 gunde aaye they and they dragged Geet along with them, away from the Home"

Maan looked at Adi unbelievingly, "What were you doing Adi? Why didn't you help Geet?" Adi pulled the sobbing Pinky away and embracing her, replied in a calm voice. "I couldn't Maan. I couldn't leave Pinky here alone, neither could I take her along with me. Aur hum baad mein lad sakte hai. Tum pehle jao aur Geet ko bachalo. They have taken her to that jungle, just a few minutes ago" he said, pointing to the dark shadows of the jungle adjacent to the Home.

Maan immediately ran towards the jungle and having made sure that Dadi was seated comfortably in the car with Pinky and Adi, Vicky followed him too.

Maan had not gone too far when he heard the screech. He knew it was his Geet! He immediately followed the direction of the voice and came upon a small clearing.

***

Geet looked up at Brij defiantly. She was not going to cower and grovel in front of him. She had been unable to free herself when the mob of goons headed by Brij and Rahul had suddenly turned up at the Home and had dragged her away. She had kicked, fought and screamed but when Brij pushed her into the clearing and pulled out his talwar, she knew she was going to lose. She still fought, unwilling to go down without a fight!

She scratched the hands of the goon holding her and kicked another in a sensitive spot. She managed to free herself from the hands of two of them and just when she turned to find a way to escape, Rahul came up behind her, holding her hands tightly. She shrieked when he twisted her arms, resisting stubbornly when he tried to bend down towards her and she was disgusted at the leery look on his face. She caught a glint of metal and looked up to see Brij aiming the talwar at her throat. She just closed her eyes and prayed to her Babaji for a quick death. But the blow never came...

Maan rushed into the clearing and stopped still at the sight of some scoundrel holding his Geet and another raising his talwar. His eyes narrowed in cold fury and he shook in the rage that coursed through his veins. He could feel his blood turn red hot in anger. Eyes red and jaw grit, his fists clenched together but he was oblivious to the pain exerted upon the fresh wound as dark red spots appeared on the bandage covering his palm. Rage blinded his eyes and his eyes spit fire as he looked at the man who dared to touch his Geet and the man who dared to think of harming her. He walked towards them slowly like a predator stalking his prey and just when the man was about to bring his sword down, he held the blade of the talwar with his wounded right hand.

Maan held the talwar until Brij and Rahul turned to face him and they both felt themselves staggering at the fury emanating from Maan's cold eyes. His veins jutting out, he pulled out the talwar from Brij's hand and punched him solidly, feeling the crack of bone under his hand. Brij will now remember Maan all his life, due to his crushed nose and jaw!

Maan made quick work of the other goons who came to fight him foolishly and turned towards Rahul who was still holding Geet tightly but he now had a small dagger to her throat. Maan walked towards him slowly, almost casually, but the fire in his eyes proved that this was no casual thing. Rahul stumbled back in fright along with Geet who still had her eyes closed, his hands shaking slightly. Maan approached the two of them silently and smirked when he saw Rahul's hands shivering. Just when he thought it was safe, he caught the hand that held the dagger and pulled Geet into his arms with the other. He twisted Rahul's hand behind his back and let him go only when he heard the numerous snaps of bone from his arm. How dare he touch his Geet...

Having dealt with everyone there, Maan held Geet in his arms, embracing her tightly and closed his eyes, to take in the smell of her skin and hair.. the smell he had forgotten for 2 long years! He pulled her closer and closer, hugging her fiercely, not ready to ever leave her.

Geet felt herself crushed against a rock hard male form but she couldn't help but feel the sanctuary of the arms around her. He was holding her way closer than that was appropriate but she could not refute the feeling of care and security provided by him. She knew this was her savior and she desperately craved for a strong shoulder to cry on but when he pulled her even closer, she trembled. She could not understand her body's willingness to go into the arms of a total stranger and she resisted his hold, feeling suffocated. She pushed against his chest with all her might and even though it felt like she was pushing a rock, her movements seemed to have brought Maan back from his trance and he parted her slightly from himself and cupped her face.

"Tum kahaan thi Geet? Mein tumhe kahaan kahaan nahi doonda. Kyun mujhe chod kar chali gayi thi?"

Geet stared into the deep dark eyes that seemed to set her aflame with their intensity and shook slightly. She let her eyes rove over his handsome features and went back to the soul-piercing eyes again. She wanted to just forget everything and drown there. But suddenly she realized her proximity to him and tried to step back, albeit unsuccessfully. His grip was strong and his strength solid!

"Kaun hai aap? Chodiye mujhe", she screeched, squirming against his strong hold to free herself. When he did not relent and kept gazing at her, as if to memorize her exquisite features, she felt defeated and suddenly the efforts of her struggle against Brij and Rahul seemed to have caught up with her and she simply fainted in Maan's arms.

***

Vicky was just a few steps behind Maan and was watching everything that happened from the time Maan had stepped into the clearing. He had caught the ferocity of Maan's wrath and had stopped, silently observing him and not stepping into the fight. His eyes had widened when Maan had effortlessly broken Brij and Rahul's bones and the violence in his features and actions shook him to the core. When Maan hugged Geet and held on to her as if she was his only redemption, he realized and accepted the fact that had been gnawing him for some time now.

Maan was completely obsessed with Geet..!

Precap ---> Did Geet really forget Maan? What happened 2 years ago? Jaane keliye dekhte rahiye Mera Ishq Deewangi......... 😆😆😆

Note:
1. So there.... Maan and Geet have finally met! I couldnt help but include the talwar scene there.... 😉😆

Now you can go back to my first post and listen to the song I mentioned.... Zara si dil mein from the movie Jannat and do listen to the lyrics carefully..... 😉 Another major hint for the story is the last line of this update........... Maan is so madly in love that he is obsessed with Geet... 😳
Lets see how the story goes from here! Hopefully I ll be able to explore this gray shade of love without making Maan look like a psycho.... 🤣

2. And if you thought there was so less of Maan and Geet interaction in this update, think once again about my poor hands and fingers that are ready to fall off.... 😆😆😆
So I promise more and better interaction starting next update.................

3. And next update (hopefully) will reveal the suspense and mystery of that night 2 years ago.... 😆😆

4. Dont forget to comment and hit the Like button........... 😃

5. The PM list has been updated.... if your name is missing, you know what to do! 😆
