Part 2

Life always shows us unexpected turns, may be for better or for worse...

"Nupur!" A lady in arond 25 years, came running , wearing a yellow kurta, and black trousers and hugged Nupur tightly. "Ah! I missed you Nupur, where were you?" Gunjan said hyper excitedly and broke the hug, " I missed you too Gunji, was really busy." Nupur said defending herself. It was true, life was too much hectic for her afterall she was a cardiologist in a renowned hospital of Mumbai. "Pata hain ji, hum to bhi to doctor hain," Gunjan gave her a warm smile.

Dr. Gunjan Bhushan, a Gynaec by proffession working in Apollo hospital, Delhi. She had done her MBBS from Mumbai, Grant Medical college from Mumbai, but later for postgraduation went back to Delhi, her hometown. Nupur and Gunjan were cousins , their fathers are real brothers. Gunjan was a pampered child, though she had an elder brother Uday whereas though Nupur was the only child, but not a pampered loud baby. When Nupur shifted to Mumbai, her father expanded his hotels in Pune and shifted to Pune, he wanted to stay with Nupur, but Nupur didnt wanted as she spend her 12-13 hours in hospital.
So he stayed back in Pune. Nupur's mother expired when she was in 14 years old, due to heart attack. That was the time she decided to become a Cardiologist. Her father supported her. Thus she became an Cardiologist.

Nupur and Gunjan came out of the airport with Nupur's luggage, she was suppose to stay for 2 months as the wedding was suppose to take place merely in 2 months''So how is jiju? I dont know even his name, its too weird." Nupur asked Gunjan teasingly, ''He is good, waiting to meet you, you know what I havent told him anything about you, not your name, but I chatted a lot about you." Nupur stopped on her way, and looked at Gunjan, "Meaning?" "Gunjan kept her hands on Nupur's shoulder, and told, ''Meaning, when i started talking about you, he was interested in knowing your name, and I wanted to irritate him a little Bit, so I told when you'll come, you will tell your name by yourself and you too should ask his name by yourself, thats your punishment." Gunjan took the trolley from her, "Oye hoye irritating jiju and all, kya baat hain ji" Nupur said.Was she acting or was it her real side which she lost while making her carrier., "He loves you na?" Nupur asked out of blue, simply, "Sea is never large, but sight of our viewing is much larger. Nobody's love is less but our expectations are much larger.He is reserved types" Gunjan said dramatically. Though they didnt shared much with each other, whenever they meet, they pulled each others legs for sure. ''aay haaye!," Nupur exclaimed. Both laughed and made their way to the parking area.

"Where is the car? I am so tired Gunjan" Nupur was tired , not of her journey but the old flashbacks irritating her. The moment she stepped out of the airport, she felt the heat of Delhi, Though it was afternoon, the heat was not due to that. She felt the old memories overcoming her mind. She quickly wiped it off from her brain, "Nupur, well he is suppose to come to take us home, he will come, he had some emergency so he went.Lets go and sit over there." Both walked towards the chairs outside the airport and took the seat. "So what are th plans for tonight?" Nupur asked Gunjan, taking out her mobile from her handbag. "There will be a small party in the evening at home." Gunjan said checking her own messages and fidling with the mobile. Nupur froze at the moment hearing party. It was again going the same way, may be.

NUPUR
Party, Why am i getting the old memories back? This was the place, Delhi, where I attended the first official party of my life. In my college, my first year...

Hey Nupur, get ready fast. Dia came in our room, wearing a salwaar kameez we are suppose to go to Hostel Opening party I glanced at my watch on the study table, it was 9:30 pm, night time, and I used to sleep by 10:30 this time, its actually a Hang out party Diya or rather a ragging party It was called HOP , the first party, where all seniors rag the juniors. I was scared, because I knew since I didnt sing, I will be asked to dance. But I loved dancing and I was no more scared, because it was suppose to happen. Dia, is it compulsory , I wanted to read the dissection part of upper limb,And I didnt wanted mayank to give any chance to impress the teachers again during second dissection. We have to share the same table. Nupur you know its compulsory , now wear any salwaar and get ready. Salwaar, I sighed. Getting ready in salwaar that too at night and then dancing. I felt like joining Medicine is a crime, but the more higher education, the more you have to pay. Already so much tensions of studies and to add on it parties at late night. I got ready wearing a purple salwaar with long sleeves and hair tied in a loose ponytail. We both entered the overblinking hall, all juniors were there. Seniors whistling, grinning like idiots, screaming, making sounds like animals left out from zoo, it was rather a fishmarket. It just irritated the minds more. It was hard to believe that this was called the creamy layer of society, why? Just because in future they all will be doctors. Doctors! All doctors had to be like that? I wondered. Then I saw him, wearing black pants and a white shirt, talking with senior girls or rather getting ragged . But they were impressed by him. He was a charmer. May be a flirt I thought.

Hey you no. 63, Oh freak! The seniors called me again, So can you dance? I was scared to hell. I called all the God's name mentally to save me from the , raggers. I looked at Dia, she showed me a thumbs up and I was relaxed. I closed my eyes and said yes. I was all set to perform a classical Bharatnatyam . But then Hey you 62, come here and join your partner And all again made that sound. That was the first time ever in my life i used all the English badwords. Why the hell they wanted him to be with me? And to add on it, why couldnt he refuse...

Within no time, the slow music started, he offered me his hand, couldnt he simply dance like a bollywood hero. Duffer! I thought.

"Baahon ke darmiyaan" I placed my hand on his. The song was my favourite, I had so many dreams I wanted to dance with my special someone on the same song, It was special for me. But because of Mayank , I had to dance, that too infront of all, around hundreds of people.
"Do pyaar mil rahe hain"We were not close. He was acting like a perfect gentlemen. Just pretended to dance.I initially looked in his eyes, he smiled, a smile of assurance. I didnt look up again into his eyes, they were mesmerising...
"Jaane kya bole man, dole sunn.... ke badan, dhadkan bani jubaan" He twirled me around, I closed my eyes and just moved to the beats. The song stopped, after some time.
I thanked god, for ending the song. The hall was filled with whistling and clapping and I was left embarrassed. Hell embarrassed again!

That party changed my life in the other way.

"Nupur... Nupur.." Nupur jerked out from her thoughts, when gunjan screamed in her ears. "What happened?" Nothing. Nupur murmered. The memories were rushing to her, she wanted to forget them , but they had become permanent long term memories and were stored in the memory system of her brain. "Lets go" Gunjan asked her to get up. They both went to the parking site.
"Nupur, here comes my fiancee" Gunjan said excitedly and went and hugged him, Nupur looked up and froze, "Dr. Mayank Sharma,the Cardiologist " Nupur was shocked. She couldnt believe her fate , for bringing her at the same point from where she left. . Nupur didnt knew what to say. Her past was standing infront of her as her sister's future.
