An interesting way for Maaneet to meet. Lolz... So Dev dead and Maan doesn't wanna follow family biz like Geet. She's already got into his head. Well, the champagne bottle too for that matter. ROFL
This one looks like a Mills and Boon to me. When I saw the name and the intro of ur story, I actually thought that it was inspired by that very story. But as I read on, it was different.

Geet just seriously needed to get out of Vegas. She could obviously do with some change. A change of the surroundings might just distract her from her disturbing thoughts. With that she called up Jenna.
"Hey Jen….what's up?" asked Geet.
"How about angry?" Jenna replied in an angry tone.
"Look I'm sorry…I know I've been acting all weird lately but I promise I'll make it upto everyone. It's just you know right….it's been going crazy with me…and that's why I been outta touch with everyone. Please understand sweetheart!" Geet explained herself.
"Yea yea alright…I forgive you" Jenna finally gave up. How can someone even stay angry with Geet. She just had her ways.
"You're the best Jen…I love you." Said Geet enthusiastic all of a sudden. "Guess what plans I made for the weekend?"
"What?" Jen asked.
"We are going to L.A.!" Geet exclaimed.
"L.A.? Why L.A.?" asked Jenna.
"I just need to get away from here. Plus the Lakers are up against the Celtics this weekend…I would never miss it for anything…..got tickets for everyone… Just call up everyone and ask them to come over at my place by 8….we're leaving today from my place….and I hired a dang Limousine" Geet was super excited.
"A Limo! Wow…you sure always know how to do it in style girl…I'll see you then." said Jenna.
"Hello" Maan answered his phone.
"Whaddup Maan?" Phil asked on the other end.
"Just bored….trying to plan something for the weekend" replied Maan sounding bored sitting in his office room.
"Don't sweat man…I have some superb plan ready for the weekend already." Phil said.
"You planned something? I'm not in the mood to spend an entire weekend at a strip club Phil" Maan said rolling his eyes.
"Oh come on mate….it's not always a strip club for me alright!" Phil tried to defend himself.
"Remember the last time we went somewhere and you planned the whole damn trip? Might I remind you we had to spend an entire night in a friggin' hospital…..and why? Because Mr Phil Matthews' stripper friend broke her leg while trying to do a pole dance! So what is it this time?" Maan retorted.
"Okay I admit last time was a bit over the board but this time we're going to L.A. Celtics playing the Lakers" Phil explained.
"Now that's what um talkin' about….I am so in" Maan said super excited all of a sudden.
Boston Celtics and L.A. Lakers, that was a game not to be missed. Maan was always a basketball fan. Being the best basketball player in his school team, he knew the game well. Born and brought up in Boston, he grew up to worship the Celtics. It was as if his life was dependant on every Celtics win. Talk about crazy.
Later that weekend:
"There's no bloody space for parking!" a frustrated Maan said banging his hand to the steering wheel of his Audi R8, trying to find a place to park his car somewhere near the Staples Center, Home of the LA Lakers, Downtown Los Angeles, California. Last he'd come to Staples Center was for a U2 concert with his ex-girlfriend, Kate. Kate and Maan dated for about three months when he realized that being good in bed didn't mean she was a good girlfriend. Everytime he thought he'd found that one person, he was wrong.
"There's a free space…go go go right now before someone else takes it." Phil said.
Finally after parking his car he got into Staples Center. The match was almost about to begin, making his way through the crowd he somehow managed to get to his seat.
And BOOM! His seat was right next to Geet. He saw her first. She was wearing a Lakers jersey with a fitted jeans and screaming. Finally after all this time, he sees the person responsible for his sleepless nights and that too wearing a LAKERS JERSEY. That was a sign, he figured. She is a LAKERS and he a CELTICS. That was probably the worst match ever. But then he looked at those long legs clad with fitted jeans and he changed his mind. Lakers or not, it was worth it.
But what if she asks him about that night? He did not have an answer to that. If he told her the truth that he remembered everything, she would question, and he does not have answers to any of her questions. Heck he didn't even know why he acted that way himself, let alone answer her questions. So he set his mind in not telling her he remembered. That might just give him a chance to know her better.
"G this really hot Asian dude is sitting right next to you. I swear he is so totally hot." Jenna whispered in Geet's ear.
Geet turned to see who Jenna was talking about and BAM! She saw him. Her wildest imaginations were coming back to her. There stood her half-naked-drooly-body guy staring at her with a grin that made him look totally kissable. She smiled back not knowing how else to react under such circumstances. Excitement about the match all gone, and suddenly she was thrilled to finally meet the mystery man of her life. Maan Singh Khurana, she remembered his name. How could she forget how those lips moved while saying that name.
Coming back to reality, she turned to Jenna and whispered almost out of breath as if she'd been running. "it's him Jen."
"Who?" asked a confused Jenna.
"Half-naked mystery guy" Geet answered back.
"OH MY GOD! He's totally hot." Jenna exclaimed.
"Shut it loser. He might hear us. You're gonna embarrass me woman!" Geet told Jenna keeping her voice as low as she could.
She just checked me out. Maan thought to himself. He thought it was going to be really easy with this girl. What he couldn't achieve in their last meeting, he'd finish it up with this one. Sitting beside her, he cleared his throat, which made her look at him.
"So hi!" Geet said sounding uncertain.
"Hey"…long pause… "so here we are" Maan replied.
"I actually never thought we'd ever meet or something" Geet flushed.
"Yea…I kinda like thought the same thing…I mean after what happened….." Maan said and Geet cut him off mid sentence, "What happened? Nothing happened right?
"I didn't mean it that way…I mean it was just…you know right…weird occurrence that morning" Maan wanted to say more but he couldn't seeing the poor girl all red. God, she was cute.
The game started. Both Geet and Maan were diverted into watching the game. Till now the Lakers were leading. Geet was all smiles. Screaming and jumping. If Lakers keep on playing this way they sure were going to win. On the other hand Maan was angry. What the hell was wrong with the Celtics today? They weren't playing up to the mark. And to top it his mystery woman was on the other side. This sure couldn't get any worse.
"So have you always supported the Lakers?" Maan asked to keep his mind off the scoreboard.
"Yea…I'm like the numero uno fan of them…what about you?" Geet said
"Born and brought up in Boston…need I say more?" Maan replied.
"I see…I guess today's just not your day…" Geet said sarcasm clearly notable on her tone.
"Game's not over….how about a bet?" Maan challenged.
"Sure mister…I'm all game…bring it on" Geet accepted the challenge.
"So if the Celtics win you have to go on a date with me…time, date, venue…I decide" Maan put forth his conditions.
"Deal. And if Lakers win…you're gonna have to hang out with me a whole day wearing a Lakers jersey!" Geet said with a cunning smile.
"You got it!" Maan accepted.
With that they shook hands.
