~Tum aaye toh hawaaon mein ek nasha hain,
Tum aaye toh fizaaon mein rang sa hain,
Yeh rang saare hain bas tumhare.~
AB TAK KI KAHANI- After the accident Nupur was taken to a different hospital. Actually some local people had called for the ambulance. When they realized Nupur was most injured and had severe head injuries, they sent her to a specialized hospital far from the city. Her duppatta and mangal sutra were taken with Mayank and SaJan to the other hospital.
This made Mayank and SG think she is dead. In reality Bauji had gone to her hospital and decided to shift her to Dubai for better treatment and care. There the doctor informs him that Nupur has lost her memory partially. She remembers everything up to the point of deciding to move to Mumbai.
Bauji who doesn't want Nupur with Mayank tells her a lie that she never went to Mumbai, instead she had moved to Dubai with him. According to him Gunjan had continued living in Morena.
Mumbai had always been the city of her dreams and she had always dreamed of a life there. Most of her life she had lived a life of fantasies, dreams and Bollywood. As a kid she wanted to become a famous Bollywood actress and she was mighty good at it too. But as time passed she got over that childish whim and decided to pursue teaching instead. Teaching was a great medium for communication, her major forte.
"Why wont you let me go to Mumbai?" Nupur asked, frustrated.
"I have explained to you time and again that I don't want my daughter in that godforsaken city!" Bauji said.
"I'm old enough to take my own decisions Bauji!" Nupur exclaimed. "I have a professional degree and the opportunity to teach in one the most prestigious institutions in the city. I am going and that's final."
Nupur had always paid heed to her father's likes and dislikes but she felt that it was time that she took control of her own life. Nupur Bhushan was going to Mumbai, and she was going to love it there.

Life had become monotonous and boring for Mayank Sharma after the death of his beloved wife, Nupur. She was a breath of fresh air, the flicker of light in a dark room, she was his everything. He missed her dearly, and her death had left such a gaping hole in his heart that it would never be filled.
He had hesitantly gone back to Excel, as a professor this time. He taught Media Law, one of his favorite subjects. It had been taught to him by one of his favorite professors, Deodhar Sir. He was successful at his job and his students appreciated his work.
Communication was not his forte and he wondered whether Nupur would have made a good professor. Actually she would have. With her lively and animated talks, Nupur would have been every student's favorite professor.
He smiled at the thought of Nupur teaching. How he despised god for doing this to him. His love, his wife, his life had been snatched away from him, so cruelly and terribly. Not wanting to feel the numbness and pain he diverted himself by making notes for a certain chapter.
"Mayank Sharma," a voice said.
He looked up and saw Indira Shergill, Samrat's mother and the Principal of the college.
"Mrs. Shergill," he said at once.
"There is a new philosophy teacher arriving from Dubai tomorrow," Indira said. "You will have to monitor her class and give consent on her teaching here."
"Consider it a done," Mayank said with a slight smile. "What's his or her name?"
Just then Indira's phone rang and she excused herself to receive it. Mayank sat back on the staff table and continued with his notes.

That night, dressed in a pair of black slacks and a white loose shirt, Nupur made her way to the Dubai International Airport. While waiting for her plane to arrive, she logged onto her laptop and played her favorite movie Dil Waale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge. She actually mouthed the dialogues out too.
After 2 hours the attendant announced that all passengers flying to Mumbai via Air India 234 should get ready for boarding. Nupur shut down her laptop, packed it and headed for the boarding.

That night, like most nights, Mayank couldn't sleep. He simply tossed and turned in bed hoping that Nupur walk into the room in her pajamas and sleep next to him, give him a tight bear hug and tell him she loved him and would always be there with him. Tears stung his eyes as he realized all this would never happen. His Nupur had left him lifeless and soulless. He didn't want to live. He hated this dark life of his which didn't have any light in it.

But it's said that the sun sets for it to rise the next day. Sadness would set one evening and happiness would rise the next morning. It was a natural cycle of life.
