Hey everyone.....sorry for the wait. I know its hard for you all and I do apologize but have been crazy busy on my side.

Will try n do frequent updates and thank you all for your lovely comments. I don't get an opportunity to reply to you all but appreciate your comments as they make my day. So please keep them coming and without much ado....here is the next part.

PART 12

A shocked Maan did not want to believe the words coming out of Naintara's mouth but unfortunately, he had heard the truth. Anger coursed through him and he felt like throttling the people who would stoop so low for money. He tried to control his anger but before he could move away, he heard his brother replying.

"Naintara……Maan virji will kill me or make me take care of that girl for that child's sake…..he will ruin everything….all he wants is control….of the Khurana empire and me…..and I won't let this happen….so just let's get rid of her" Dev agreed with Naintara's idea and Maan's heart shattered into a million pieces.

He could not believe that the brother he had so lovingly raised thought so low about him. His dadima had always warned him to be careful from Dev as he showed more genetic qualities of his mother rather than his father but Maan had refused to listen.

He had always believed that his upbringing would win but today, in this hospital, he had lost. He had lost his brother to money. He closed his eyes in pain and the fight suddenly left him.

He knew for a fact that however hard he tried now; Dev was never going to make his wrong a right. He had ruined Geet's life without a second thought and did not deem it as a mistake. He had left Geet at the mercy of the unkind world and she was fighting each step of the way to make her life.

Suddenly, the image of a scared Geet running for her life from her brother and goons appeared in front of him. He had helped her then by saving her life just for humanity's sake but after that he had pulled the stops to make her life difficult for her.

Long hours and mean behavior was all he had dished out to her but that had not stopped her from working hard or smiling that beautiful smile. Maan shook his head to clear the image of a smiling Geet from his mind.

The smile made her hazel eyes light up and her serene face glow. "Stop it" he gave himself a mental kick.

"Sir…..excuse me" the nurse interrupted his thoughts and he looked at her with a start.

"Shhhhh Dev" Naintara hushed her husband as soon as she heard the nurse addressing someone and Dev too looked out curiously.

"Yeah….sister…..I was actually looking for my brother…..Dev Khurana" Maan spoke a little loudly as he knew that the occupants of the room must have heard the nurse addressing him.

"Oh yes Sir…..he is here" the nurse pointed to the room, Maan knew Dev was in and he nodded his thanks to the nurse and moved to go inside the ward.

Anger and bitterness coursed through Maan but with a huge effort he plastered a concerned look on his face. There was no way he was going to confront the two without knowing what they were up to.

"Dev…..are you alright?" he asked his brother harshly and Dev looked at him surprised. He had never thought that his brother would come to see him in the hospital.

"Yes bro…..am Ok…..in a little pain but nothing I can't handle" he replied with a small smile and Maan nodded, completely ignoring his wife, who was staring at Maan with hatred in her eyes.

"Maan virji" she stressed on the last part and Maan looked at her with an expressionless face.

"What kind of people do you hire?" Naintara asked and before she could complete her rant, Maan replied, "Those who can do the work they are hired for" in an acerbic tone.

"Work…..they raise their hand on the owner and make false allegations on him….is that the work they are hired to do?" Naintara asks, ready to get Geet fired and taken care of.

"Tell me something Naintara" Maan turned towards her and folded his arms across his chest, "Do people do that without a reason?" he asks and Naintara takes a step back in shock and Dev's mouth opens in shock too.

"See dev….I told you….. did I not? He would believe that tramp rather than his own brother" Naintara pointed to Dev and her insulting Geet sets his teeth on edge.

"Choose your words carefully Naintara" Maan warned, "They may come back to haunt you."

"Oh please….I know what I am saying…..but I always knew you would help Geet …..as you have a weakness for helping anyone who comes to you with tears in their eyes" she snapped and Maan's eyes turned fiery.

"You are mistaken Naintara…..the last one I believed was you……I have learnt my lesson never to trust any woman who acts helpless…..but tell me one thing…..how did you conclude I was on Geet's side?" he asked and Naintara gasps.

"Have you fired her then?" she asked with a small smile and got a shrug in return.

"Why fire her? She is good in her work and moreover, she is not the one who hit Dev" Maan replied and that angered Naintara.

"It is because of her that Dev…..your own brother his here…..and you say she did nothing?" she asks.

"Ok fine…..Dev" Maan turns to Dev, " Did Geet hit you or threaten you?" he asks and dev nods a No.

"Then tell your wife to look after you and stop worrying about who I hire or fire in my office" he advises him and Dev sends a pleading look towards Naintara who looks away in anger.

"Well you get home soon and rest…..I will see you later" Maan closes the conversation and walks out.

He couldn't believe the gall of Naintara….she was trying to get Geet out of his office. It would actually be a good idea to get Geet a job somewhere else so that at least she would not be in Naintara's face all the time , Maan thought.

Then the image of Brij manhandling her and promising to kill her flashed in his mind and he refuted the idea immediately. It was best she stayed where he could keep his eyes on her. There was no way he was going to throw her to the wolves.

He reached the Gynecologist's office and knocked to enter. He saw Geet listening to the doctor and murdering her dupatta and he knew immediately that she was nervous.

"Hello Mr. Khurana…..please sit" the doctor addressed him and Geet looked at him in surprise.

"Doctor…he …he doesn't need to" Geet tries to get him out but watches in shock as he comes and takes the seat next to her and her heart almost stops when his hand covers her and he presses gently on it.

"Geet….no need to be so mad…..I need to hear what the doctor says" he smiles to Geet, the smile not reaching his eyes but conveying their intention to Geet who nods slowly and looks away from him.

"Mr. Khurana…..I am amazed that your wife has never shown herself to a doctor till now…..moreover she has no prescription for the vitamins she needs, is underweight and under rested…..this way her body will not be able to retain the baby for long" the doctor delivers and Maan nods understanding.

"I am not his" Geet starts when Maan quells her with a look.

"I am sorry doctor….this will not be repeated…..please prescribe what you have to and I will make sure that she gets the rest and the food….on time" he says and the doctor nods and hands him the prescription and tells them to visit her back in two weeks so she can monitor any improvement.

"What do you think you are doing?" Geet snatches her hand from his, which Maan had been holding in front of the doctor.

"Just what the doctor advised" Maan replies and Geet snorts in anger.

"Oh really……now you are worried about me…..may I ask why?" she attacks him, tried of his high handedness.

"Sure…..the reason is that I believe you" Maan looks into her eyes and replies and Geet forgets to breathe.

O wow he knows the truth now yay me wooo and he believes her now! Yes yes o how great! Can't wait for more more more continue soon pleease keep it up hun x
