To her surprise he threw his head back and laughed."riddhima.i may call u riddhima?"
Oh goodness,the way her name rolled off his tongue!.He said it like no one else.Made it sound different and-dared she say it-incredibly sexy.Ofcourse,he did not mean it tht way,it was his accent tht did it,but heaven hel her,the inference was there.
"Yes" she agreed but she didn't look at him.
armaan's male hormones were behaving badly.And it annoyed him because he did not want to be attracted to riddhima.He'd had girlfrnds,yes,in plenty,in the years he'd been alone after his wife had left him.But nothing serious.They all knew it was just a game to him.
But riddhima was different.For one thing she was him employee and it was a cardinal rule of his to never mix business with pleasure.And for another,he sensed tht she wouldn't be into casual affairs.when she met the man of her dreams it would ba an all-or-nothing affair.And wht a lucky man he would be.She had to be every man's dream.Beautiful,smart,capable,interesting.He could think of plenty of adjectives to describe her.Sexy,proactive....he stopped his thoughts right there and tossed the rest of his whisky down his throat which was in his hand for quite a loong time.
moving a bit,he said " Its warm in here,dont u think?shall we continue our talk outside? where there was more air to breathe!
riddhima smiled and jumped to her feet."you have an incredible place here,mr mallik.I'd love to explore ur gardens".
"armaan.please call me armaan,"he suggested softly
"i'd rather not; its a lil too informal for our situation,' she answered swiftly
i cant have u calling me mr mallik when we r on our own.'
ok then!how about SIGNOR DE mallik" she asked cheekily and he was taken by the flash in her eyes.So beautiful,all woman,teasing and flirtatious,whether she knew it or not.He guessed she didn't;shewould probably be horrified if she knew wht he was thinking.how he was interpreting her behaviour.
"tell me about urself" ' i knw very lil ...except tht u have no boyfrnd,' and where do u live?'.
"i share a flat with a frnd in notting hill (i love this place).OR atleast i did,i moved out today.'
I see.Would tht be a female frnd?' the question was out before he could stop it.
"Are u prying into my private life,mr Mallik?'
"i m just very curious.do u have a family? ofcourse u dont have to tell me if u dont want to.But i always take an interest in my employee's private lives.i believe my interest helps improve working relationship.
"In tht case,if it will improve our relationship,the answer to ur question about my flatmate is tht she is a female." and she slanted him another glance to see his reaction.
He pretended not to notice.
Do i have a family? she went on."My father died when i was minne's age.And my mother dies a couple of yrs back; she'd been ill a looong time.But i have a twin sister who has a six yr old and a new baby.I visit her ofter.i love the kids'
All the time she'd been speaking they had been walking along the flagstoned path tht led to the lake.it was his favourite place to sit,specially in the night!He was looking forward to riddhima's reaction.
It was not wht he axpected.when the vast expanse of water came to sight she gave a squeal of horror."Mr malllik,u never told me about this.Its not excatly safe for minne.it should be fenced.
Never before could he remember feeling so horrified.it had never occurred to him tht it could be dangerous!!
It will be done,' he declared."immediately. mujhe pata nahi tha ke aisa bhi ho skata hai!!
riddhima was shocked when she heard him speak HINDI....they lived in london and he spoke spanish!! but she could not believe wen he said some words in broken accented hindi.
"how!! how do u knw hindi"she asked
my mum was a hindustani"he replied in his accented hindi
"oh!! btw this place is beautiful!! she answered "have u lived here for long?"
he didn't answer her question
"why dont u have a boyfrnd? he said instead."a beautiful woman like u,i would have thought u'd have a whole string of them knocking at ur door."
riddhima lifetd her shoulders. ' i m not interested in men.I ma career girl.'
"You intend to be a nanny for the rest of ur life?" he questioned,making it sound as though it was the worst thing she could possibly do.
Why not?' she demanded
'I cannot see it happening,' he declared diemissively."You're too beautiful to become an old maid.Tht is the right expression,is it not?"
riddhima smiled and nodded.An old maid! it osunded so old fashioned and not wht she expected from him.
'One day the right man will come along and u will be swept off ur feet.And before u know it u'll be married with a lot of lil children of ur own to look after other people's children.
'And u consider urself an expert on tht subject,do u?A man who need a nanny to look after his own child."
Riddhima saw him frown and knew she was out of order but for some reason the words wouldn't stop.he'd caught her on a raw nerve.She did want children;she'd thought once tht she'd met the right man,ABHI,to give them to her.And ever since tht disastrous relationship she'd had doubts tht there ever would be a MR right.
"Tell me,Mr mallik,if we r being open and honest with each other,wht happened to ur wife?Did she leave u because of the long hours you work?
the instant the wordz were out she regretterd them.And when he spoke,when he answered her question,she wanted to turn and run.She wanted to wave a magic wand and make herself disappear.This was the worst moment of her life.

sanju man this part was completely brilliant. like jus awesome. armaan and riddhima both lusting towards eachother. and AAHHHHHH i so hate u for stopping on a cliff hanger. women u better update jaldi cuz now i really can't wait to know the truth myself. u r simply an amazing writer. love u muahzzzzz

awesome update... both of them attracted towards each other... its so much fun to read their thoughts!!!! ok so the end left me wanting for more... armaan's past, you really scared me by writing about riddhima's reaction...what happened that made his wife leave this gem of a person???? but i'm glad she did so otherwise how would our lovebirds meet???!!!:P
