Hello guys, i finally wrote the next part, so here it is:
PART 5
"Ridzy I'm so happy that you are transferring to my college, I've already found an apartment for us, all we need is another roommate and then we'll be all set!" Nikki was gushing happily on the phone.
"I'm really excited too Nikki, after high school ended we never saw much of each other, but I'm really glad that we'll be in the same college now, even of it is only for a year."
"Yup, and we will have a blast, trust me Ridzy you'll love it here."
"I know, the only thing I'm worried about is all my credits transferring over, and getting used to the new college in my last year of grad school."
"Don't worry, main hoon na, I've been in this college for years now, you'll know about all the nooks and corners within a week, plus all the gossip," Nikki smiled widely, thinking of how nice it would be to spend so much time with her best friend again.
"You and your gossip Nikki," Riddhima said shaking her head at her friend's favorite hobby, "k I need to finish my packing now, so I'll see soon."
Nikki hung up the phone and started moving her stuff in the apartment. Earlier she used to live with a group of girls, but she decided to move out and share an apartment with Riddhima now that she was coming here. "I really need to find another person to share the apartment with us, because Ridzy and I cant pay for the rent all by ourselves", Nikki thought'I'll call Abhi, I told him to find someone, but that lazy guy is probably still sleeping right now, uff kya karun main iss ladke ka?
"Kya hai," Abhi muttered sleepily into the phone. He hated it whenever people called him early in the morning' people cant even let me sleep in peace, now who is calling me for the past half hour and doesn't get the message that I'm sleeping and don't want to be disturbed'
He was rolling over in his bed, with the phone next to his ear and his eyes ready to drift into a deep slumber when her voice woke him up completely. "Oh Nikki, it's you, is everything ok, why are you calling me this early?"
"Early?? ABHUMANYU MODI its one in the afternoon, people are finishing their lunch and are half way through their day, and you're still in bed!"
Abhi moved the phone a foot away from his ear because if he held the phone any closer, Nikki's loud voice would permanently damage his eardrums. Taking a deep breath he gathered the courage to talk to his girlfriend, "Nikki, sweetheart, who said im in bed, I was just going to call and ask you to go out to lunch with me."
Abhi was hoping that Nikki wouldn't catch his lie but she was too smart, well that was why he loved her so much, she was one short, smart chic. "Yeah right, I know you were out partying all last night, and that too without me," Nikki pouted on her end of the phone.
"I literally begged you to come Nikki, but you were too busy with packing and shopping for your new apartment, oh and I found a roommate for you," Abhi was sure that this would get her mind off of his crazy sleeping patterns, and it did.
"Really Abhi? Thanks a lot, who did you find?" Nikki inquired about her future roommate.
"Well, she is a typical desi girl, is completely into Bollywood movies and all that, but she is nice. I've only met her once, she is a friend of Rahul and Armaan."
"Ok, I trust you, but she isn't too loud or annoying right?" Nikki's biggest pet peeve was loud and squeaky voices, and couldn't handle it at all.
Abhi had a nervous grin on his face, and chose to let Nikki find out about her roommate once she met her herself, "Umm, no, she is a very quiet girl, and her name is Muskaan."
Nikki believed that Muskaan was a quiet and shy desi girl, and it wouldn't be a problem sharing an apartment with her. After thanking Abhi for finding Muskann, Nikki hung up and started setting her things in her room. She roughly organized her items, and took a look around her new apartment and her new room'wow, I'm so excited, once Ridzy and the new girl come we can even paint the apartment and work on its interiors to give it a personal feel' and at least in this apartment we all will have our personal space and there won't be any annoying people, Nikki grimaced, thinking about her previous apartment which had 5 girls and one of which was the very famous, Suman Lata Dalmiya'. Ugh how I hated that girl, she was sweet but toooo annoying'. in this apartment I'll find peace at last'.
Riddhima was driving for the past 5 hours and was only 20 minutes from the apartment when she got stuck behind a really slow mini-van. After the stress of changing college in her last year, transferring to a completely different state, packing at the last minute, and driving for hours, the last thing Riddhima needed was to get stuck behind a slow driver. She reached for her cup of coffee, realizing that it was empty, she took a deep breath and hoped for some superhero to drop her on her new bed in her new apartment. She needed sleep. A lot of sleep.
Another five minutes passed by and Riddhima was trying to listen to music to sooth her frustrated nerves, when suddenly a car whizzed by and passed her. Riddhima didn't see that coming and was even more shocked when she noticed that the black infiniti went off the road and on the gravel to pass her and the minivan. Getting inspired by the black car, Riddhima checked her rearview mirror, looked around to make sure that there wasn't a cop, and sped on the gravel to pass the turtle-like minivan.
Finally she smiled widely and pressed on the accelerator, enjoying the speed. "Finally out of the 5 mph zone created by the minivan," she sighed. Feeling the breeze in her hair, Riddhima felt excited for the first time all day about moving in with Nikki and attending UW Madison, even if it was only for a year.
As she maneuvered through the parking lot, she saw the black infiniti parked near the building in which Nikki had rented their apartment. Riddhima parked next to the infiniti and amusingly watched a girl with curly hair trying to climb a tree to grab a paper. Riddhima thought it must be some extremely important paper and decided to go help the girl.
She looked through the parking lot and saw a long stick of wood lying near the dumpster. She picked up the stick and offered to get the paper out of the tree that was stuck between two branches. As the paper came flying down, the curly-haired girl jumped to catch it and gave Riddhima a rib-crashing hug. When the girl finally let go, Riddhima smiled, as the girl started talking, "Thank you so so much, that paper was very important for me. I would've died if I didn't get the paper, thanks a lot. By the way, I'm Muskaan, I'm new in this area. Moving in today, in a new apartment, I'm really excited, and again, thank you very much for helping me, you are like Mr.Incredible!"
Riddhima was intently listening to this girl and smiling, "Hi, I'm Riddhima and I'm new here too, I'm moving in that apartment building," she pointed to the building in the corner and said, "by the way who is Mr. Incredible and how am I like him?"
"Oh, jee, tussi desi ho, then I toh am bohat khush to meet you, and don't you know Mr.Incredible, he wears the red suit, the superhero," Muskaan looked at Riddhima as if not knowing Mr.Incredible was a crime, "don't you know the movie, where he saves the cat stuck in the tree? Well, he saved the cat's life, and you saved mine, so that is why you are like Mr.Incredible jee." Muskaan smiled, hoping Riddhima understood and remembered who Mr.Incredible was.
Riddhima started laughing hearing this, "So you were talking about a movie, I thought you were talking about an actual person," Riddhima continued laughing.
Muskaan was confused at why Riddhima thought this was so funny, but started laughing with Riddhima because she didn't know what else to do.
When Riddhima calmed down, her curiosity increased and she asked Muskaan what was so important about that piece of paper. What she heard next brought tears in her eyes, tears of amusement; she started another round of laughing, but this time much harder than last time.
In between her laughter, she asked Muskaan, "Seriously Muskaan? You were going crazy over that paper because it was the newest picture of Shahrukh Khan!? And you were labeling me as Mr.Incredible because I saved your life," her stomach started hurting after laughing for that long, but she continued, "I saved your life, by helping you get SRK's picture out of the tree?! And you were trying to climb that tree to get a picture? A picture Muskaan? Of an actor?!"
Riddhima's laughter didn't stop and increased with each passing moment as Muskaan told her the importance of SRK in her life, and how immensely she loved him.
