Everything was a blur to him as his knees gave up and darkness engulfed him.
He forced his eyes open, but could only see a total blur, he felt everything spinning suddenly a loud bang echoed in his ears as he felt a searing pain in his head, he tried to force his eyes open again but it felt like letting them remain close,a sudden weight filled in his heart as something warm trickled down his ear and into his neck and then he felt(moved) no more.
What felt like hours later he opened his eyes and stared around, he stood up not feeling at all, like he was numb all over, he stared around and found nothing but whiteness, like it was thick fog all around him.
He raised his hand to his head, but again felt nothing, like he was air.
Shock gripped his heart as Nora gazed at his eyes standing few steps away.
"Nora" he whispered.
"Now you really have a choice" she whispered back.
"Please Join my world" she pleaded with her eyes.
"where am i?" he asked surprised, nora simply smiled.
I never turned into a ghost afterall, but then he thought
"What am i?" he asked again
"U r on a level of consciousness where I can help u join my world" she paused and asked hopefully "Do you wish to-"
"No" the answer came to his lips before he gave it a thought "I want to go back to my love chashmish, I want to be with her..where am i?" he asked again.
Nora seemed to be disappointed, she shook her head.
"Alright" she whispered stepping back.
"wait" samrat's voice cracked and everything around him was a sudden blur again, he felt a throbbing pain in his head, as cold wind hit his face, something was flapping with a painfully high speed near his face and that's when he heard the voices.
"Wake Up Samrat please"
He felt the pain in his head intensify as the passed moments flashed in his mind.
When he had first seen Nora..near the curtain smiling at him, radiating…glowing.
"Am so sorry Guys, the lights fell on him, I cant understand how" a man was speaking sounding quite depressed.
He felt nora's smile floating in his mind, like she was actually there infront of him.
"We know" another boy spoke.
"We wished to scare him and now he has scared the daylights out of us" a girl was saying.
"this was such a bad idea" another girl said her voice cracking.
He was getting bothered by the rambles, what were they saying and who were these people? His mind didn't dwell in tht a second longer as nora's face came back to him, the loving gaze with which she stared at him in the garden.
"This prank backfired on us, we didn't knw it.." another boy rambled on.
He tried to tune them out thinking of the stars that twinkled in the sky, nora had made that happen..It was beautiful…Nora was beautiful
"Well I don't like to say it now, but he's gonna b famous -" the same man was speaking
"-will u cut it, for all we knw he could have died" a boy spoke quite harsh.
He creased his eyesbrows, these voices were disturbing him, making his head pain lot more.
He tried to shove their voices away,He thought of the moment when he had talked to nora for the first time, In the basement, he met her gaze again when she was running with him in the corridor, no floating with him, like thin air, like she was a…a ghost.
"He did, no maybe, he wasn't breathing wen we reached him"
"can u guys please stop" a girl spoke.
The girls voice was beautiful, small weak yet musical….It was soft and like honey to him, Nora's image blurred as he tried to open his eyes, to see that girl, to see he knew now to see his chashmish.
"chashmish" his lips moved before his eyes opened.
A tiny relief he felt when the flapping stopped and all the voices too.
It was all dark around he blinked twice as the sight greeted him.
10 faces were staring at him tensed and a few almost in tears, he was in some dim room, with no lights. He realized he was still in the haunted house.
"Sam u alright?" uday asked.
He grunted in response, he didn't feel that he could talk much bcoz of the pain, he felt a little dizzy.
"Ohh thank u lord, he's alive" the man said relieved, and he recalled it was the head.
"samrat" he felt a gentle tug at his hand as he met the eyes he so longingly wanted to see, gunjan's lips twisted as she sat next to him on the bed "m sorry" she mumbled. Samrat sighed as he tried to get up.
"no no" uday interrupted "dont get up"
For the first time he felt uday was right, as he relaxed.
"Samrat" nupur stated "yeh sab humara plan tha, tum hum sab ko itna pareshan karte the ki humne decide kiya ki tumhe maza chakaye, woh musical course woh setup tha" samrat blinked trying to get the meaning out of her words, he had to focus hard.
"aur woh 24 hours aur reward woh bhi-"
"-nupur usse abhi hosh aaya hai yeh sab baad main" mayank said.
"okay"
Samrat felt a lot better he tried to get up again, uday interrupted again but he didn't listen.
Sitting upright at the support of pillows, he finally felt relief spread through his heart as he stared at his friends.
"Guys" he started but his voice cracked.
"here" gunjan offered him a glass of water, he smiled and took it.
Everyone was staring at him while he drank, All of them were smiling now glad to see him alright, gunjan, nupur, mayank, benji, ana, mr grover, He spluttered the water all around as soon his mind registered to them.
"u?" he squeeked.
"yeah we aren't ghosts afterall, just trying to scare u" ana smiled and offered him her hand for a handshake, he took it and nodded politely.
"how did u do all tht?" he asked curious.
"easy tricks, lights had a regulator, the glass burst coz of the chemicals n etc etc u neednt knw the details"
"but the corridor?"
"tht was another setup…chill dude it wasn't real" ana smiled with pink lips, maybe they were highlighting as he saw her in black always.
"why such ahuge setup, just to scare me?" he asked completely finding it ridiculous that all of them were involved just to scare him.
"well we are from mtv channel and u have been shot in the '24x7 scare' show-"
"-and now u r gonna be famous" mr grover interrupted "u r the best we got!" he grinned his usual self.
"Ur frnds approached us" ana replied sensing the questions bubbling inside him.
"Uday ab to tujhe bhoot se dar nahin lagta na?" mayank asked smiling cheekily.
"lagta hai kyun?" uday spoke.
"tu bhool raha hum haunted house ke kamre main hai" uday jumped a little.
"nahin nahin main nahin darta" he amended.
"Where's Nora?" samrat cut off.
"Nora?" ana asked.
"yeah nora ur sister" samrat replied simply.
"Oh" mr grover interrupted "we don't know, u saw her name on the door and we made up a story"
Samrat felt his heart sink "story? But she was there!"
"where?"
"with us in the house" samrat replied
All of them eyed him n then each other a second longer and they burst into laughter.
"now u r trying to fool us aren't u?" ana laughed
"no m saying the truth guys"
"chill sam, we were watching u all the time" mayank said "through the camera's, so u cant fool us"
"so then u saw me in the basement" samrat spoke excitement filling his heart.
"wat basement?" nupur asked confused.
"I went in the basement, its attached to the kitchen and I met nora there, u must have seen"
"ermm is he talking abt the locked room" benji whispered.
"we were wondering the same actually" mayank murmured
"we tried to enter that room u knw to fix camera's but it was locked, how did u manage?" mr grover asked.
"no thts a basement there and nora I saw her grave and" a few of them smiled while others shook their head grinning.
"samrat u need to relax" gunjan spoke her voice trembling."take some rest"
He shut his mouth knowing that they will never believe him.
All of them left the room as he stared around hoping that nora would come and prove him right.
He shut his eyes and nora's face flashed in his mind again, he sighed as he recalled her words.
"So u don't believe in ghosts?"
he shook his head and whispered "I do" slowly he opened his eyes, only to meet her brown eyes staring at him, she was sitting at the edge of his bed.
"GoodBye" she smiled half-heartedly.
And unlike the usual this time she didn't walk away but dissolved in thin air, disappeared while samrat sat petrified at his spot.
Hmm i wanted to show him dead and pair him up with nora
