hello everyone i am new to IF.
I am writing a short SS on Mayank and Nupur... Hope u like it...
Kabhi Kabhi pyaar mein itna dard miltha hein
Jeena bhi Dushwaar hotha hein
par zindagi mein aage badna hi accha hein
aise hamsafar ka haath thaamna accha hotha hein jo zindagi bhar
us gham ko paas na aane de....
Ek aise hi kahani Ria ----- Mayank ----- Nupur ki
First two parts revolve around Mayank and Ria( Mayanks first love )
. Nupur is yet to come in his life...
Part 1:
"Its easy to say move on..but for the one who is going through the pain, a lifetime seems too small to get over it..you will know what i am referring to only if'.. interrupting him Samrat said "it is all about how you look at it..for a lazy laggard..even a 100 Metres looks like a daunting task.but for someone who is ready to make a conscious effort, like an athlete, it looks like a 5-10 sec job".. "hmm..", mayank groaned as if he is accepting Samrat's words.. "so you think i not making an effort??" mayank said with a questioning face.. "you are the best judge of your life.. think yourself Mayank" Samrat replied... Mayank took a pause as if he is introspecting. "Samrat, you tell me what should I do? Those thoughts never seem to cease haunting me. I am still unable to come to terms with what has happened." "Mayank, those thoughts are still chasing you only because you are letting them to. Avoid everything that bring back those memories. Keep yourself occupied with something. Why don't you renew your interest in guitar?" Samrat ended. Mayank lost in deep thought analysing what Samrat has told. That was the lengthiest conversation so far they had after mayank got discharged from hospital after undergoing pshychological treatment for attempting a suicide for his failed love affair. Doctor suggested evening walk in fresh air for mayank.. so they daily take a walk in the nearby park for sometime.. the daily conversations used to be mostly either filled with silence or short conversations..
Mayank and Samrat are siblings..Mayank is the youngest one. Being the youngest, he has always been pampered by everyone in the family. The siblings are more like friends and used to share the thoughts and feelings. Be it a friend's birthday party or a outing with friends or a movie, Mayank used to always accompany wherever Samrat goes. Even kalyan's friends became good friends of Mayank. But the suicide incident was really a shock to the Mayank's family. Father, Nanda, is a bank manager and mother, Leela, is a professor at a local engineering college. The parents given the children the liberty to think and act on their own, they believed it would make them independent in their respective lives. Complementing their parents thinking, the children never took advantage of the freedom at their disposal, they always acted with prudence. Probably that incidence might had shook their confidence in their children and instinct .
Those were Mayank's college days, he was in his degree 2nd year. Mayank is just an average student in studies, but a jovial and fun loving guy. He used to maintain good rapport with everyone. Everyone liked Mayank for his peppiness, outgoing and No-Nonsense attitude. It all started when Mayank started his bike and speeding away to his college. Confidence is the thing which takes you to the top and overconfidence is the thing which lets you fall down. With the blind assumption that the road will remain the same, Mayank was maintaining the same speed .. But he was not sure what life has for him on that day, he suddenly felt his speed dropped to zero and he was on the ground with his bike far from him, courtesy the pot hole on the road. Luckily he was not injured much. He was getting up and moving close to his bike, it was then he heard a female voice. "Are you ok?", it sounded concerned. Looking back, he saw a girl on her way to college with books in her hands. He said "thanks, I am fine'. They exchanged smiles and resumed.
He saw the same girl few times on the same road but never spoke to her. One day, he went to a movie and bumped into this girl. They smiled at each other and started talking. During the conversation he came to know her name is Ria and studying degree 2nd year in a women's college. After few days, he went to her college with his friend to meet his sister. When his friend was talking to her sister, Mayank felt like strolling in the campus. He somehow felt someone is watching and nearing him. Before he could realize who it was, Ria smiled and asked "hi, how come you are here??" . "Yeah, I was missing you so much so I thought better see you", replied Mayank playfully. Looking at the Ria's changing expressions, he said "Jokes apart, I came here with my friend to see his sister". Mayank's friend interrupted their conversation and signaled him to let's leave. That night, he received a Good night message from Ria , yes they exchanged the phone numbers during their morning rendezvous. Since then, they used to meet during Sundays or whenever they felt boring at homes. He felt a sense of comfort and solace in her presence and she found a trust, caring, concern and assurance in him. You never know when love strikes you. You realize only after it struck you. Love is when you look into someone's eyes, and see everything you need. They found that someone in each other. They never felt its required to express their feelings. After all, few things are better expressed when they are unexpressed.
