Part 9

It was around 5 'o' clock that we decided to return. I promised Sweety that I will keep in touch with her. I knew that it might be unsafe, but I couldn't help it.

We came back to Mumbai in the same speed as we had left it.

Atul chose the wrong profession. He should have been a formula car racer.

We reached the office building and the employees were suitably worried where the bosses and their P.As had disappeared.

I heard one of them saying,

"I was going to report a complaint.P.As had kidnapped their bosses."

I couldn't help laughing later. It had been other way round.

Bosses had kidnapped their P.As.

We resumed back our duties.

I was shocked as how the three had quickly immersed themselves in work,as though we never had any interruption.

Guess they had a lot of practice regarding this.

"Did you notice?" Rahul asked when we reached home.

"What?" Anjie questioned back.

"The three were so happy and content in Lonavala. Did you guys notice the picture in the house?"

"Which picture?" I demanded.

"Of the them with bua. There were three more." Rahul informed.

"Where? I did not see any picture."

"How would you? You were busy with the little girl. She was cute though."

I was taken aback. Rahul had seen me?

"Yes, I had seen you. In fact all of us were watching you both. Bua had tears in her eyes. She was saying that the girl never mingled with anyone. She was shocked at how effortlessly you were talking to her." Rahul answered as though he heard my thoughts.

"Anyways, I was saying that, were even Riddhima,Atul and Muskaan orphans? They semed as though they had lived their whole life there."

I pondered over that. Were even they orphans?

Nah! From what I had found out was that they were always under parental care from the time they were born.

Their possibility of being orphans was ruled out.

"No, I don't think they are orphans. Maybe bua is their relative and....they might have spent some time there and gotten attached to that place." Anjie voiced some of my thoughts.

That was possible. Not everyone suffered the same fate as us.

A few days later....

"Armaan, today we have to attend a meeting with the foreign investors. I didn't want them to come in our office so I was thinking if we could the meeting in some conference hall?" Riddhima said.

"Sure ma'am. How many people are there?"

"Umm 7 I guess. Only the main people are coming. They wanted to discuss something."

"Ok. What time? I make the arrangements."

" Actually they have just landed today and they intend on leaving today itself. So is evening 7 pm fine?" She asked quietly.

"Ma'am, why should I have a problem? You'll be taking your secretary right?"

I had also found out that Riddhima Gupta never took her P.As to any meetings. It would be the secretary who would fill in that time. I always wondered why?

"Er, Armaan Lucy isn't well. So I gave her a leave. Can you come with me?" She asked hopefully.

I thought for a minute.

I was going to discuss some plans with Rahul and Anjie today.

"Sure ma'am. Why are you asking? You are my boss. Your wish is my command."

She gave me a big smile. I grinned back.

It would be helpful anyways to know if any changes were going to be made.

It would all add up to our plan.

We left for the meeting as planned.

The meeting went well. But it was quite late when it was finally over.

We both had been called up many times by our best friends to ask what was keeping us so late from reaching home.

We assured them we wold be home as soon as possible.

On our way back the engine showed its way.

And the driver went in search of water.

Riddhima was getting worried.

I calmed her saying that it was all fine. But she shocked me by saying,

"I'm not worried for my ownself Armaan. I'm worried for you. Your family must be waiting for you."

Am I a girl? Or a damsel in distress that my family must be worried about me? I should be saying all this to her.

She went out to see what was taking the driver so long.

A few rowdies came out of nowhere and tried getting close to her. And it started raining too!

Totally filmy! But with a twist to it.

I rushed outside and saw.....

Riddhima was beating the guys black and blue. And soon the guys were unconscious.

I stood there with my mouth open.

My,my was she superwoman or something?

She did not need my help at all!

She saw me standing frozen and shocked with my mouth open.

She came up to me, closed my mouth and grinned.

"I am a black belt in Taekwondo."

The driver returned and we reached home.

I had still not gotten over the shock.

When Rahul asked me I told him everything.

"And you only stood there watching your black belt boss beat the pulp out of the rowdies?" Rahul demanded.

I nodded absentmindedly.

Anjie burst out laughing and even Rahul could not control himself and chortled in harmony with her.

I had come to know another side of Riddhima Gupta.

How many more shades were yet to be unveiled?
