~ Part 3 ~
The roof is buzzing with laughter, Suraj and Birwa splashing eachother with water, it's extremely hot day so Santu is allowing them to play whilst she hangs out clothes to dry on the roof. Santu sees a stain on DM's kurta and takes it off the line and goes and cleans it off. She brings it back looking at the kurta clean and perfect, thinking this Kurta looking great on Malik and lovingly hangs it back on the line when she is brought out of her thoughts with cold water splashing on her back 😲 Santu lets out a tiny scream and sees that naughty Suraj is spraying her with the hose, Suraj begins to chase Santu and Birwa drenching them head to toe. Santu catches Suraj and hugs him grabbing the hose and hosing him down.
Distant eyes watching and taking in the scene, making his heart pound stronger for this woman. He watches with fascinated eyes, the way she moves and interacts with the children. He does not know why she fascinates him so much, maybe it is her pure innocence, loving aura he can feel, her smile is beautiful as sunshine and her warm laugh touches his heart in a way he never knew anyone could do. Watching her run here and there, noticing her wet clothes slightly pressing onto her body. Curious, he wanted to get up closer to her, to stare at her face into her eyes, maybe touch her face, run his fingers from her forehead, down her nose and to her mouth, feel her rosy plump lips, wondering what it would feel like to kiss those lips. He has watched her for days, he notices that men hide and look at her but never dare act upon their feelings as the man who lives in this big house frightens them, like he owns her. He thinks, I'm not scared, I want to meet her! 😈
Bapuji is hurrying up the stairs trying not to drop what's hidden in his hands, he hastily takes a big bite out of the somosa and begins to munch with joy. The set of beaming eyes move back and stay unnoticed.
Bapuji: Hmmmm, yummy yummy for my tummmmy 😍
He's about to take another bite when he gets splashed, the cold water hitting Bapuji's face makes him scream dropping the package in his hand.
Bapuji: Ahhhh 😕 wo meih' Vasudha, I was only taste testing, the rest are for the children!
Santu and the kids start laughing, the colour from Bapuji's face has turned red with fear and shock thinking his dear lovely wife has caught him red handed.
Bapuji: Phewww its only you three, I thought it was your Nani.
Suraj walks over and picks up the package and sees its Somosas'his eyes light up and goes to take a bite, when Bapuji snatches them off him leaving Suraj annoyed 😡
Suraj: Nanniiiiii ... Nana is eating ...hmmmmm
Bapuji stuffs a Somosa into Suraj's mouth and tells him to be quiet.
Bapuji: Do you want me to get into trouble! If your Nani finds out, she will make me eat that rabbit food and no treats! I am literally starved, deprived...
gulping thinking about the vegetable cooked without much masala, the plain boiled rice and the rice cakes with no flavours'NO DESERT!!! Bapuji looks at his somosas and goes to put one in but before he can take a bite, Santu pulls away the somosa and the rest in his hands and Bapuji pulls a childish face to Santu rubbing his stomach
Santu: Bapuji, you know you are not allowed these fried food which increase your cholesterol or sweet treats increase your BP. What did the Dr say last time ' that it could lead to a heart attack! 😭
Bapuji: But Santu - what do Drs know?
Santu: No buts Bapuji, I love you a lot and want you around for a long long time. You cannot forget you have daughters who need you! grandchildren to teach your tricks to and more importantly a wife who cannot live without you!
Bapuji: See I can never get away with the one treat or two, it like your Baa, it's as if she has a sixth sense specially when it comes down to food and now you also spoiling my fun and guilt tripping me 😒
Santu puts down the Somosas and hugs Bapuji, he's like a big round teddybear, Santu could remember her biological father, her memories from when she was around 6 or 7 were happy ones but never got a chance to have this bond she has with Bapuji her adoptive father. She loved and missed her father but Bapuji would take that emptiness away, he treated her as his own there was no difference between Subhadhra, Surekha and Santu, he classed Santu equal and as his youngest.
Santu: Bapuji you know why Baa scolds you day and night? Because she loves you a lot, Baa looks after you well and feds you well so you stay in good health, if I let you eat these somosas and anything happens to you, Baa will never forgive me and I will never forgive myself, it's for your own good. Even Malik wants to eat what he likes but if I don't watch his diet, only god knows what could happen, that's why I make sure he has a balanced diet and that is what Baa has been doing all her life watching and taking care of you.
Listening to Santu's sweet telling off, Bapuji smiles and he forgets about his binge eating and strokes her head and gives her his blessings 😳
Bapuji: I understand dear and promise to try to control my eating, I give you permission to tell me off at anytime but will you do me one favour?
Santu: Ji Bapuji.
Bapuji: Lets keep this as our secret no need to tell your Baa, she will just get angry at me and then I will have to suffer her annoyance, silence for many days. I will eat whatever you give me and not cheat ' agreed.
Santu: Agreed.
Baa is standing at the door listening, tears in her eyes 😭 happy and proud of Santu looking after Bapuji so well and knows she can rely on Santu's help to get her husband back in good health Bapuji kisses Santu's head and goes in search of Baa. Santu takes the kids in to be cleaned and ready to go to her Nanaji's house for dinner.
Later in the Evening
DM comes home and gets freshened up for their dinner at the village, he calls Santu to get his Kurta he asked to be washed in the morning. Santu walks out to the roof and collects the clothes but notices that DM's red kurta is not there, confused 😕 she walks back into the house and asks Champa whether she took the Kurta for ironing? Champa says she never went out to the roof today nor anyone else. She goes back to the room and gives DM a different Kurta saying his Kurta has vanished from the line. DM changes his clothes and suggests his Kurta unattached itself from the line and walked off, maybe we'll see him at the village on a date laughing. Santu giggles and tells DM to hurry up, they are late. She sees the time shocked 😲 and starts rushing asking DM to do up her necklace whilst she puts on her earrings, he does so and moves his hand in front of her straightening out the necklace and it gave him an opportunity 😉 to put his arm around her waist and lean in to take a deep breath of her freshly washed hair and perfume on her neck ☺️ Santu feels DM's mooch rubbing against her neck, his hands caressing her waist more, his fingers press firmly on her and feeling her skin.
DM: You look beautiful tonight but whats this 😲
Santu: What Malik?
DM moved his hands around her waist and hips concerned, DM's touch makes her feel full of life but stares down to see what DM is talking about. DM looks towards a clueless Santu.
DM: You've lost a lot of weight, see! What is all this hey?
Santu: Malik, its
DM: What Malik? How I did not notice, too busy in everything, did not realize my wife is shrinking away, you're not looking after yourself, your not eating properly from what I can see, too busy looking after everyone else that you forget yourself right! How can you let this happen hey! Answer me, I want a good explanation! 😡
Santu: Malik, its nothing, just...
DM upset and angry 😔 lets go of Santu and sits on his chair and kicks off his sandal 😆 puts his foot up on to the coffee table and leans on the handle of the chair. Santu can clearly see DM hurt and angry. Santu did not realize how much weight sees lost and seeing herself in the mirror it was clear and visible 🤔 she remembers lecturing Bapuji about eating healthy and how it would affect Baa if anything happened to him and she realized that her neglecting her health, this is affecting DM, clearly angry at her and himself for not paying attention to her but more on the other problems Santu walks over to DM and stands behind him putting her hands on his shoulders massaging him. It felt nice but DM brushed her hand away and carried on starring forward 😡 Santu sighs, he's very upset. She goes in front of him and kneels down and sits in front of him, he turns his face the other way angrily - Now what? Santu thinks, after thinking she stands up, DM waiting for her to say something, Santu walks round and sits down on his knee and cuddles into him. She looks up can see DM pretending to ignore her 😆 Santu smiles and lifts her hand and caresses his face.
Santu: I'm sorry Malik, please forgive me, I made a huge mistake, I won't do it again. I got busy and ate a bit here and there and didn't eat my full meals and I realize the mistake I made 😔 I've hurt you I didn't mean to, I will make sure I eat on time and until I'm full 😃
DM: If it means that I have to hand feed you then I will, you should be gaining some weight not losing it, do you not care about yourself? 😡 Care about me or my feelings? Do you know consequences of what could happen to you if you lose weight drastically and not eat properly, what pain you could go through? Any pain you feel I will feel it hundred times more but you don't care, your Santuri who is only here to work work work - there's Champakali, Thoral, servants to help with work, why do you feel you have to do everything yourself? you lost your brain? your Malkin of this house or did you forget?
Santu covers DM's mouth from speaking anymore, she has mixture of feelings, remembering her position in his life, this family and home, no status whatsoever when she first came here, she was treated like a servant and now, how times have changed seeing moments flash, happiness ruling every sadness she experienced and DM too, that the painful days are forgotten, the unwanted, to the can't live without, to always be beside me but she thought to get to where she is today she would go through all that pain again to have never of tried or to not get her deserved and rightful love of DM and his family DM was a complete different person, no longer the cold man he once was, his ego is still there but to his love it loses every time 😳 DM looks up to Santu whose looking sad, he did not mean to upset her, moving her hand away from him, he holds her hand in his and with the other he wipes her single tear running down her cheek and hugs her in return she buries her face into his neck 😍 and whispers sorry and allows her hot breath to touch his neck, they remain sitting there and from the window the man is watching and listening to the activities in the room and he feels angry on DM for neglecting Santu 😡 A knock on the door brings them all back to their senses, the man vanishes and Santu gets up from DM's lap and opens the door, Birwa walks in and tells them to come down, the car is ready to leave.
SANRAJ make their way to their car, DM tells the driver he will drive, wanting to spend some time alone with Santu. Santu sits in the front passenger's seat, DM closes the door and makes his way round to the driver's seat when he thinks he can see movement in the bushes, he closes the door and makes his way towards the bush 😕
