DM gets out his mobile and dials a number and he starts talking to Kanji on the phone and asks him to come to the factory tomorrow, he needs to talk to him about current living arrangements.
DM: Tickche Kanji Bhai, I will see you tomorrow at the factory at 9.00am, Jai Shi Krishna.
DM has a determined face to settle matters once and for all 😳
DM goes to Moti's room and knocks on the door, Moti turns round and looks at DM, DM walks in and stands there in front of Moti.
Moti: Nanka, you here?
DM: You came to talk to me but left without saying what you wanted to?
Moti: Woh Santuri, told me to get out of your room, this girl is the limit, today she told me soo much, Itni Gandhi ki bhatt (all disgusting talks) Nanka if you had been there you would have cursed yourself for marrying such a Niche Choti Jhatti Laki with NO respect for elders nor any respect for herself. No Nanka, this girl has gone too far, you do something about her and put her in her place before she forgets it. She has such a foul mouth and before she ruins our family name and honour, she is just a fraud, you must send her back to where she belongs back to her Nanaji, back to her real world, she does not belong here and you don't need her. Put her back in her real place.....
DM: She is in her place?
Moti: Meaning?
DM: She is in her place, Santu Dharamraj Mahiyavanshi, Dharamraj Mahiyanvanshi's (pointing to himself) Dharam Patni, D'Pur's Ki Malikin and Malkin of this house, Mother of my children, Daughter of Baa and Bapuji, String that binds my family on the Mahiyavanshi Necklace, person who cares for others more than herself, respects all relations to her who are elder, younger, richer, poorer, living and the dead. What more can I ask her to do, how else can I put her in her place, I don't know any other, you tell me?
Moti: So thats it, you're not even going to listen to what I have to say and what your Patni just said to me?
DM: I heard what was said, I came back out the bathroom to get a towel when I walked in to your confrontation with Santudi, I was standing there listening, I was standing there and I was angry with her, I couldn't control how angry I was with Santudi, I was standing there, standing there wanting to shake her, standing there thinking what is wrong with her (Moti has a big grin on her face and DM watching her reaction) standing there listening to my sister and wife, standing there listening to my sister insulting my wife, standing there not saying anything, not know what to say to my sister, standing there thinking why my sister can't see me happy, standing there thinking is this what my wife has to go through whenever I'm not there, standing there thinking why does she go through this for me, standing there hoping she doesn't break and fall to the ground and then standing there proud of her she proved what her existence is here in my life! She spoke, she finally spoke and she spoke what her heart felt. Elder's need to respect those younger too, also gain respect from them. I see no insult to Santuri's saying?
Moti: Your taking her side, that Santuri Ki side?
DM: Yes today I am, I am siding with the truth, today my eyes have been opened wide and I see clearly, I always turned a blind eye when it came with you, Motiben, today you disappointed me in many ways not only as a sister but also as a mother, you took care of me when our parents passed away and my children when Subhudra died, for that I can never thank you enough but at the end of the day we are family and family stick together like I have always been there for you all your life supported you in good days and bad days, I always shared my happiness and sorrows with you but all the years I had been alone, empty, I was just a working walking machine, I was just a walking dead soul just living each day as they came not caring much about my other responsibly such as family, yes I was here but was I really here? In presence yes but not emotionally nor did I interact with my children, who craved my love and attention which I never gave to them that they rightly deserved, all my feelings were locked up in my heart sealed in a box, my heart felt heavy but yet felt empty, something was missing. Santu came along and unlocked it, she has the key to my heart. There are days when you need your emotional shoulder, your strength and sometimes your weakness, the person who sees your world in your eyes and you theirs, that person who you can tell your deep and inner thoughts and feelings to, talk to that person who can comfort you in many ways, emotionally and physically, that only a wife and husband can do and be. My relationship with Santudi is that relation is which what I have described, Motiben I can't express to you how much Santudi means to me she is my world and I can't live in this world without her. That is why I couldn't let her go to prison just to protect Birwa, that sacrifice I couldn't allow that is why I fought for her and she is here with me today. There is an age difference but what is age when you understand eachother and the responsibilities that go with marriage and where there is love there is no crime in love and age. Santudi was at the legal age of marriage and I never forced any relationship on to her, it took us time but we got here in the end. We believe the saying that god makes someone for us at birth and how, where and when we meet, no one knows but it's the person who creates us only knows and the fact is Santu was created for me and me for her and how hard someone tries to break this bond it won't break, it is our unbreakable bond and one which I will not let break!
Moti: Nanka, what about Subhudra?
DM: Bas Motiben, you know my feelings for Subhudra, Subhudra is my past and Santu is my present, future and she is and always will be my jeevansati. Today I hope you have learnt what your brother's life meaning is and my world is only complete with Santudi in it, if you respect me in any ways then respect my wife Santu, these comments you make are very hurtful and disrespectful not just to Santu but to me. That is why I have made a decision as people in this family need to know their place and what a husband wife relationship is and the only way to show this is if husband and wife are together and I will tell everyone my decision tomorrow.
Moti: Nanka, meaning....?
DM walks out the room, leaving Moti standing there not letting her ask any more questions, she is not a child but a grown women, Moti just stands there and stares a DM's shadows disappearing in the corridor left stunned and in utter shock all she could do is hold the chair for some support as today she truly lost her brothers support 😕
DM goes back to his room and finds that Santu has fallen asleep, tired from her hard days work. He locked the door and just laid there next to her stroking her face and putting his arms around her where she belongs and he falls asleep listening to her slow and steady breathing which gave him the peace he needed knowing she was there with him and when he was to wake up tomorrow she would be there still in his arms and another day for them to face together and she would support him when he needed it as tomorrow there is going to be a change for the Mahiyavanshi household something that he should have done years ago may be the situation would never have arisen with finger pointing and the jealousy but knowing he would have his support beside him, he knew he would be able to do what he is about to do 😊
NEXT DAY
Sanraj prayed at Mandhir, DM filled Santu's manng with Sindoor and they took the Pandijit's blessing who wished them a long and happy married life. Santu smiled as this is all the blessing she wanted a long and happy married life. DM gave the Pandijit some money and asked him to buy mitai to share with the villagers as they are about to take on the biggest consignment to date and this is only due to his hard working villagers and the blessing he receives from them 😃
DM drops Santu off at Nanaji's house and tells her that he will send car to collect her about 12noon and to be home for when he gets back at lunch, Kanji Bhai is coming and relations will be made amends today and he needs her there beside him. Santu smiled and pressed his hand for her assurance before getting out the car 😳
DM's office @ Mahiyavanshi Diamond Works
Khanji: Jai Bugwanni (ohhohohohooo Kanji music enterance) 😆
DM: Kanji Bhai, Jai Shrikrishna, (DM hugs Kanji and Kanji DM) ow, bess bess (come sit) I am glad you came as asked and am even more happy that you are taking excellent care of my factory in Jumkumbaria. Kanji Bhai, you are fulfilling all your responsibilities but I ask for you to fulfil one more responsibility, a responsibility that has been left forgotten and.....
Khanji: Dharamraj, is it about Tarulatta? That relationship is dead, we are both changed people, too many misunderstandings and all the years have passed, you sent her to me over a year ago but as soon as Santu left the house, Taru never came back and to be honest I don't want her back....
DM: Then why are you still married to her? Why in all these years you haven't given her chutta cheda?
Kanji: Dharamraj, I still love the women I fell in love with all those years ago but we have a son and that is the only reason.
DM: You can make her back to the same Taru when you first married, I know Motiben, she somewhere deep, deep, deep inside her has that love hidden but afraid to express it as she thinks she will be hurt again. You now both know you didn't betray eachother but it was actually our Father who planted the seed of hatred and betrayal in eachother, so....
Kanji: Dharamraj, past should stay the past...Taru has her own life and I have mine.
DM: Kanji Bhai think about it, I won't force it upon you but you say you respect all women and their honour, where is my sister's, where is my BIL's honour when my sister is sitting in my home without her husband all these years? You understand marriage and you took those marriage vachans when you walked around the holy fire so fulfil them. I don't want to see my sister alone and lonely for the rest of her life, she craves this relation and sometimes it worries me that her craving and jealousy will one day destroy all relations in my home and you also being part of it. Once you have had time to think, please come home at lunch time and we can move forward from there.
DM gets up puts his hand on Khanji's shoulder and walks out his room. Kanji looking at DM's family picture sitting on his desk and also the picture of Sanraj together happy, Kanji thought to himself I have neglected my responsibilities Dharamraj is right and today one day I will have a photo like this on my desk. I will take responsibility and I know just how 🤪
