Chapter 2
After Nupur Bhushan left the classroom, Mayank approached Ms. Aha. He sat down in front of her.
"Can you please-?" Mayank asked.
"Mayank first and foremost," Ms. Aha started. "I'm pairing you up with Nupur to help her."
"Help her?" Mayank asked. "How am I supposed to help her?"
"Mayank Nupur had not always been like this," Ms. Aha started.

Priyanka, joined by her bestfriends, Kareena and Katrina (🤣), walked towards the cafeteria.
"I can't believe I'm paired with THAT Shahid Kapoor," Priyanka said, disgusted. "Man he is such a pest."
"I know," Kareena and Katrina said in unison. "What a pest."

"Nupur used to be the topper of Excel College during her first and second years," Ms. Aha said.
"And why is she like this now?" Mayank asked.
"Because of her parent's divorce," Ms. Aha said. "It affected her very badly. She alienated herself from the world, stopped worrying about her grades and failed the final exams of her second year."
"WHAT?" Mayank bellowed.
"Yes, but we knew she deserved another chance so we made sure she passed the second time she wrote her second year exams," Ms. Aha said. "And that is the year you joined Excel."
Mayank was silent. He didn't know how to respond.
"So she is a year older than me?" was the question he asked. He felt really silly after doing so.
"No," Ms. Aha said. "She never wrote her 11th grade. She was double promoted. So she is, the same age as you and your batchmates."
"Oh," Mayank said. "And what exactly do you want me to do?"
"I want you to bring back the old chatterbox Nupur," Ms. Aha said. "The one who everyone loved, the one who topped the college."
"But why me?" Mayank asked, curiously.
"Because you are the only one who can bring her back to life," Ms. Aha said. "The most stubborn student in the whole school only can do this."
"Ms. Aha I'm not too sure," Mayank said, confused.
"I've full faith in you Mayank," Ms. Aha said. "And I know you will love the old Nupur."
"Huh," was all Mayank managed to say before he left the room.

Shahid sat with his best buddies Imran and Ranbir and sighed. He couldn't imagine working with that snobbish Priyanka Chopra. She was the most beautiful, stylish and arrogant girl in the college. He absolutely detested the thought of working with her.
"So unfair man," Shahid said.
"Unfair?" Ranbir asked. "She is the hottest chick in the whole of Excel."
"And the most snobbish," Shahid said.
"So what?" Imran asked. "She is hot man."
Shahid couldn't understand how superficial his friends could get. He simply didn't want to work with Priyanka, simpy didn't.

Mayank spotted Nupur at the cafeteria counter ordering something. He went close to her.
"Hey," he said enthusiastically.
"Hello," Nupur answered coldly. "Chhotu I want a full-milk coffee with cream on the side."
Nupur walked off from there and sat at her regular table. Mayank noticed that that was the side of the cafeteria where most loners sat.
"Chhotu I also want the same thing," he said, pointing at Nupur.
Chhotu prepared two full-milk coffees with cream on the side and gave them to Mayank. Mayank went to Nupur.
"Are you the waiter?" she asked, taking her cup from him.
"No, I'm Mayank Sharma your project partner," Mayank said, taking the seat opposite her.
"Thanks for the coffee, you may now go," Nupur said rudely.
"Nupur lets discuss the project," Mayank said politely.
"I'm not interested in discussing any bloody project," Nupur said. "So buzz off creep."
"Nupur listen," Mayank said through his teeth.
"I said buzz off creep," Nupur said, calmly this time.
Seething with anger, Mayank grabbed his coffee, threw it in the trash can and left the cafe.
