Its been really long since my last update...so here's one...
Part-21:
She tiptoed as silently as she could into Bui's room where Bui was resting on the arm chair with closed eyes. Making sure Bui didnot see her, she went behind her and placed her soft fingers on Bui's eyes...
Bui:"Hmhh...aagayi Bui ki yaad?"
She smiled to herself and kept silent for she still wasnot sure if Bui knew or not.
Bui:"Aaj bhi wahi bachpan ki aadat...arey tujhe kia lagta hai?k Bui ko pata nahi chalega k..."
She stopped and taking her niece's hands in her own and lifting them from her eyes said:"K..uski Ridhimma aayi hai?!"
Ridhimma reluctantly came in front of Bui with the same dissappointed face that she used to have as a kid...she complained:"Kia hai Bui?Mujhe kabhi surprise nahi dene deti...?!"
Bui smiled and said:"Tu bhi toh kabhi koi naya surprise nahi deti...ye toh tu bachpan se karti aa rahi hai.."
R:"Lekin aaj aap k liye surprise hai.."
B:"Acha?Kia?"
R:"Aise nahi bataongi..aangan mein chalo aur khud hi dekh lo.."
Bui knew it was no point asking Ridhimma again. So she got up and went to the compound of the house as Ridhimma told and Ridhimma followed.
When she had come there, for a moment or two, Bui was quite a little curious at this 'suprise' of Ridhimma. When she couldnot see anything, she turned to Ridhimma and said with arising curiosity:"Kia hai?Batana...yaha toh kuch nahi hai...koi nahi hai.."
Just then she heard a voice from her back:"Sach mein koi bhi nahi hai kia Bui?"
As the voice questioned her, after a moment's confusion, Bui knew who was it?!It was her Armaan. She took just a moment to realize that there was a different glow on Ridhimma's face that was long lost ever since her engagement was broken and now had returned. As Bi turned around, Armaan saw the lady he had loved just like his mother...she was the one who had pleaded Ridhimma not to leave Armaan.....she was the one who had always went against her own brother just for the sake of her nieces whom she loved more than she would have loved her own daughters...be it for Gunjan or Ridhimma...and Armaan respected her even more for this goodness in her...
Bui walked slowly towards Armaan...her face clearly expressing the happiness she felt that finally Ridhimma would be happy again. She cupped his face and said:"Mera Beta..."she said proudly:"Tu aa hi gaya na...tab hi toh aaj dekh...Ridhimma k chehre ki chamak hi alag hai...."
As she said this, Armaan's gaze lifted from Bui's face to that of Ridhimma's. He cutely looked at her and she looked down feeling shy. He looked back at Bui again and smiled and she kissed him on his forehead and then wiping her tears said:"Main abhi aati hoon.."
Armaan so knew this was just an excuse to hide her tears....tears of both happiness and sadness. After a little while, he looked at Ridhimma and started moving towards her and Ridhimma felt uneasy. As he got closer to her, she tried to hurry and leave but then he seemed to be faster at that. He caught her hand but then left it the very next moment when he heard the enthusiastic:"Di!!!!" from Nupur who hurried to her sister and hugged her tight...so glad to have her sister by her side...Armaan and Mayank met a little casually but in no time forgot that they had just met.
Mayank teased:"Ridhimma...tum toh yahan ho samajh aata hai...par Amraan..??ahem...ahem....dil ka rishta...bonding....I understand!!"
Armaan replied back:"Wo kia hai...aaj kal humse chote humse bhi do kadam aage hote hai...toh un k footsteps follow kar rahe hain...I hope you understand that too.."
They smiled and then Mayank said:"Lagta hai Nupur ne aap logo ko thode galat time pe disturb kar dia..."
At this Armaan placed his hand around Mayank's shoulder and taking him a little away from the sisters said:"Kahan yar..?!CBI agent hamare peechey laga rehta hai....bohat dukh bhari dastaan hai...."
Mayank made a sad face and said:"Sach mein yar...ye Mogambo kabhi leave nahi leti kia?!"
Ridhimma's "ahem ahem" distracted their conversation and then after a little while of convincing them that it was just an "all-boy" talk, the four got into serious conversation. Nupur told them that Samrat was Mayank's college friend and Mayank explained to them that he believed that Samrat was in Shimla and hence the idea of reunion!!!
The next few days were some of the most busiest days of Mayank's life. Gathering a batch that had graduated four years back was no easy a task. But finally the big day arrived...
