Nupur woke up to see the time was 7...never in her life had she been so punctual. Even today if it weren't for Mayank she wouldn't had woke up at that hour of the morning!!

She wasted no more time and hurriedly got ready and rushed downstairs where Ridhimma was having her breakfast. She greeted her:"Morning!!"....her face with a slight surprise and she asked Nupur:"Itni jaldi?"

Nupur answered:"Haan Di...actually humein ek presentation ready karni hai at a very short notice toh aaj kal office mein kaam bohat hone wala hai. Shayad aaj raat ko main late ho jaon..."

Ridz gave a mischievious smile:"Oho...waise itni dedication....job k liye ya phir...?ahem ahem.."

Nupur smartly answered:"Mayank k liye..."and then she said intentionally:"Waise bhi di, mujhe tumhari tarha pretend karna nahi aata saying that I don't care for people when I actually do!!"

The smile on Ridhimma's face faded away. She replied in an angry tone:"Problem kia hai Nupur?Tu ek hi topic baar baar kyun pick karti hai?"

Nupur:"Kyunki yeh ek topic tumhari life se related hai..Di, tum nahi jaanti k Armaan.."

She took his name and Ridhimma just lost it...This was more than enough. She got up and said:"Bas!!Dekh Nupur..yeh meri life hai so you just stay out of it..."

It was only when Nupur got up with a shocked expression on her face and a tear in her eyes when Ridhimma realized what she had just said...she wanted to explain Nupur but Nupur left before Ridhimma could say anything..

In the office:

Mayank was so occupied with his work that when there was a knock on the door he said without looking up:"Come in Nupur!!"

As if he knew it was her. The feeling he got when she was around her was so special...so beautiful...but undefinable!!

Nupur came in. Her mood upset after the argument with her Di this morning. She sat there on a chair just opposite to Mayank's and was lost in her thoughts. Mayank hadn't seen her face and just said:"Nupur, tumhein nahi lagta humein khud construction site par jaana chahye so that things will be more clear to us?"

It was only when he didnt get a response from Nupur did he look up..For the first time, looking up at that face which was so-unlike-Nupur....looking at a face of a stranger girl in whom he was trying his level best to search Nupur. Nupur who was still lost in her own world didn't seem to realize when Mayank got up from his own seat and settled beside her. A tear dropped down her cheek as she thought of her past...For some strange reason, he hated to see that drop in her eye..he hated to see her that way..When Mayank himself recovered, he shook her. It was then that she came back to reality. For a moment or two, she didnt know what was happening and just then Mayank asked:"Kia hoa?"

Nupur wiped off her tear and said:"Umm...kuch nahi!!Let's get to work!!"

She tried getting up from her seat but Mayank held her hand and said:"Betho Nupur!!"

Nupur settled down..

Mayank asked again:"Kia hoa?"

Nupur looked at him for a moment and then looked down and said:"Mayank..yeh...yeh zindagi aisi kyun hoti hai?"

Mayank:"kaisi?"

Nupur:"Kabhi kabhi..itna andhera ho jaata hai k...k..door door tak kuch nazar nahi aata. Hum sach nahi dekhte. Aur..aur tab kisi ka saath mehsoos nahi hota!!"

Mayank looked at her confusingly for he had no clue as to what was she referring to but all he knew was she needed some soft words and so he said:"Nupur..agar andhera na ho toh roshni ka ehsaas kaise ho?Aur jahaan tak sach dekhne ki baat hai toh sach dekhne ya naa dekhne se nahi chupta. Sach toh ek din saamne aa hi jaata hai..Aur raha sawaal saath ka..toh koi aap k saath hai yeh mehsoos karne ki zaroorat nahi hoti..Bas khud par bharosa rakhna hota hai k chahe jo ho jaye..woh aap ka dost hamesha aap k saath hai.."

Nupur looked at him in surprise. Those few words said it all. A new hope settled in her that may be one day things were going to be better.

N:"Thanks alot Mayank!"

M:"Thanks kis liye?Actually, mere office mein aaj subah Nupur Bhushan ki jaga koi stranger aagayi thi toh socha usse bhaga kar Nupur ko wapis le aaon!!"

When Nupur's smile broadened at this, Mayank continued:"Oh!Great!Matlab Nupur is back!!"

Nupur:"Haha...hmhh...toh ab kaam karein?"

That day passed on to be so very hectic. The two had lunch and dinner together..where they discussed Nupur''s favourite topic--movies and SRK...

Mayank had known Nupur even more closely that day and Nupur had known that after the two people she had come across in her past, Mayank was the third one who could make her smile even in the hardest moments. That night when Mayank was dropping her back home, the tired sweetheart had fallen asleep and when they reached her home..Mayank was too mesmerised by the innocent beauty to wake her up..she was somebody who was a perfect actress...an actress who pretended to be so very happy but inside she was dying!!He had decided that he was there to support her..Mayank said to himself:"Pata nahi k aaj tum kis ki baat kar rahi thi Nupur. All I know is k yeh baat tumhein takleef de rahi hai toh mujhe pata lagaana hi hoga k woh kia baat hai...main yeh toh nahi jaanta k main tumhari life mein itna interest kyun le raha hoon"He looked at her:"Bas itna jaanta hoon k tumhein kisi bhi takleef mein nahi dekh sakta..!!"

She then woke up and after a sweet farewell to meet next day morning on time, the two parted..

Nupur was too sleepy to speak to Ridhimma that night. So early in the morning when Ridhimma got her and said her a sorry, she completely understood. Ridhimma was a little taken aback because when Nupur lost her temper it took her quite some days to come back to her normal self and Nupur knew that it was Mayank!!No-one else but just him who had indirectly explained all of it to her..!!

Ridhimma reached at the hospital and she was informed she was to meet her new batch of interns today..it reminded her of her first day of internship and her first meeting with....!!!!!!Her mind refused to take his name!!

R:"Pata nahi aaj kia hoga..main...gosh...life mein kabhi itna nervous nahi hoyi.."

Just then a voice came from behind:"Itni khoobsoorat ladki ko nervous hone ka koi haq nahi hai.."

She turned around and smiled at the handsome stranger..

It was Armaan...him and only him....

He walked towards her and was a little more close to her than usual!!

R:"Jee?Aap?"

A:"Jee haan..main...Armaan Malik.."he gave out a hand to her..

R:"Ridhimma Bhushan.."she smiled accepting that hand...that touch was still so vivid in her mind..it was eternal...

A:"Dekho..I know k aaj first day hai toh sab nervous hote hain but you know what sirf talented log hi itna nervous hote hai.."

They shared a laughter...

She came back to reality wiping off the unknown tear in her eye!!

One of her interns was a little late and there she started:"Itna late...mujhe late comers pasand nahi hain.."

Just then a voice came from behind:"Abhi itna bhi late nahi hoa hai Ridhimma..."

Her heart skipped a beat...She knew this feeling..she had always loved it but she hated it today for it assured someone's presence....no!!it cant be him...she kept on telling herself...but when she turned around..she knew it was him!!Armaan Malik...
