WHOA...and I cannot believe it took me this long to get here...Ravs, my dear, this is freakin' awesome...!! Just my kind of thing, and I'll tell you why...six letters : ARMAAN...the character you've built around him here is something I have never come across in any fics I've read so far, which aren't many, but I have a feeling most people would cringe before they ever thought of putting him in a mould like this one...and you've done it...and absolutely brilliantly...which is why I LOVE this, and I LOVE you for doing it...!!
The opening scene...gave me goosebumps, it was so real...I could see the veiled figure, sense the lust and the adrenaline that drove Armaan on...in both scenes with Riddhima...you can sense his desire to devour...and at the same time, what he also craves, albeit momentarily, is response...so ironic in its own way...only adds more dimensions to his character...
I mean, I'm kind of at a loss after that Ravs...the effects are still wearing off...what blows me away is that this Armaan is not just another orphan turned gangster, clear-hearted though he may have been once upon a time...you've given him an interiority that goes beyond the stereotype, at least in this part...which is why I am so totally excited to see how you build him from here, because I have a feeling Riddhima won't be the limp, unconscious body crumpled on the floor for too long...and when she comes to, maybe that tinge of guilt he felt might grow into something more...and I don't mean just love...it could be so much more than just that...
Also, special mention to the title...really goes with the theme...and the overall feel of the first part itself...and ironically, the image it opens with is one of void immediately followed by light...angelic, divine light...in one gasp, lost to the empty, sea-breeze heavy night...and the dark appears to extend from Armaan's outside to his inside...his life, his job, his emotions...everything is in the shadows, indistinct, confusing...much like the love he's always been seeking, but never found...something close to parental affection, raging, near-blind lust with an intense want of a response...a tinge of guilt for the first time in eternity, which also seems to come out from the dark recesses of his once innocent soul...so that's the first part of the title captured...now, I await the manifestation of the Amour, and how it connects with so much of the Aphotic in this fic...
Ravs, please, pleeease don't leave this one hanging until you loose the plot...lol...hope you'll update in good time...will be waiting for your PM...
