armaan, riddhima and muskaan sit in the first row and armaan announces that, these will be their permanant places. riddhima somewhere feels happy, but does not understand or tries to understand the vital reason for her happiness. as the lessons start, armaan observes how serious riddhima is in studies. he peeps in to her book and observes that, her letters are like pearls and not like rocks.. he thinks about such an unpleasant and rocky hand writing he has.
he gets quite impressed with her mannerisms and soon, the lunch break rings and everyone make their way to the school's dinning lounge. vivek and sam also join them for the lunch but armaan ensures that neither of them have a direct conversation with riddhima.
armaan and riddhima, by now, attained a little bit of comfort together. so, they start talking normally. armaan excuses himself and then, excuses on the behalf of riddhima and pulls her out of the dinning area, making everyone look with a surprised expression on their faces..
riddhima: arey armaan.. tum mujhe kahan leke jaa rahe ho ?
armaan: chalo na.. bataoonga..
riddhima: okay..
he takes her to the corner of the ground, where there will be a little pond, with some fishes in it. he makes her sit on the corner wall of the pond and he sits beside her.
armaan: pata hai, whenever i feel alone, i come to this place and these fishes are my best friends.. they are really cute and the best fishes in this world..
riddhima: hahaha.. fishes and your best friends... hehe.. thats sooo cute..
armaan: i know.. and you know, i did not get you here, just to show these. i wanted to talk to you about something very important..
riddhima: kya ?
armaan: don't think that, i am making you my friend because of your talents or because, all the guys are finds over you. but i somehow realized that, i was rude and wanted to apologize. will you be my best friend too.. ? 😳
riddhima: haan armaan... why not !! i also realized that.. you are not that bad.. you are okay...
armaan: just okay ?
riddhima: okay.. you are the best.. 😆
armaan: thats good.. friends ? 😍
riddhima: yes.. friends... 😛
armaan and riddhima get back to their classes and once after they get back to home, they have the snacks together, while talking about the school's events. Riddhima soon goes to take shower while armaan says he wants to go to the garder for playing..
He plays a lot and gets tiread but finally comes inside all muddy and finds riddhima drinking some chilled juice while watching her favourite movie wake up sid !!
armaan: wake up sid haan !!
riddhima: yup.. my favourite..
armaan: cool.. woh packet kya hai tumhare haath mein ?
riddhima: woh.. muskaan ne mujhe diya tha school mein.. kurkure hai...
armaan: mujhe bhi chahiye..
he will be about to put his hand into the packet while riddhima stops him..
riddhima: nahi... first take shower and come.. see how dirty you are..
armaan: you know something, you are also behaving like mom. dont sleep with her from today. she is teaching you all stupid stuff...
riddhima: yeah.. whatever...
armaan comes back to find the packet empty.. he starts shouting at riddhima..
armaan: riddhima !!! mere liye kuch bachaya kyun nahi ? mujhe abhi chahiye kurkure.. 😭 abhi hi abhi do mujhe...
riddhima: maine toh bachaya.. par woh sam kuch der pehle aaya tha.. usne kha liya..
armaan forgets about kurkure and thinks about why sam came there..
armaan: sam.. saala ghar kyun aaya ? maine toh usse ghar aane se mana kiya..
riddhima: uffo armaan.. he came to give you your book you forgot in the school...
armaan: joh bhi hai riddhima.. dekho.. tum baaki ke ladkon se door raho.. especially sam aur vivek se.. woh log tere ko line maar rahe hai..
riddhima: arey.. tum aur muskaan ho na mere saath.. ab chalo home work kartey hai...
armaan: HOMEWORK ?? Armaan mallik ke history mein nahi hai yeh home work naam ki behooda cheez.. agar mein homework karoonga na, teachers suicide karenge shock ke wajah se... uhhuhahahahaha [in his signature style]
riddhima: armaan, but it is not good you see.. please lets go and do it.. if you think i am your friend and if you value me, then come...
armaan: chalo... par mere room mein nahi.. mein concentrate nahi kar paoonga... agar saare video games mere saamne hai toh..
riddhima: okay. take your books and come to my room..
armaan: fine..

riddhima and armaan meet in her room. riddhima, soon, will be engrossed in her project work but all of a sudden, stares at armaan and gets shocked at what she is seeing.
He started dissecting the pen, while Riddhima stared at him in eww.
Riddhima: Oh my god armaan !! What the hell on this earth are you doing ?
Armaan: Yaar.. Riddhima.. I know ki tum kaafi brainy ho.. So, issiliye, mein tumhe apna idea explain karta hoon.
You see, I want to dissect this thingy and may be, this might take me to a new invention and will make me more popular.
Riddhima: Armaan, agar tum aise pen ko thod te hue time waste karoge, toh future mein kuch nahi bachega. So, I guess, tumhe pehle apna project work finish karna hoga..
Uske baad. I guess, you can work on anything or be any scientist.
Armaan: Okay fine. But after the project, shall we go out and play basket ball. Please.. I am getting bored. Please..
Riddhima: Okay !!
Armaan finishes the work and soon, they go to the basket ball court, which is loacted in the backyard of the mallik mansion..
Armaan will be surprised to see riddhima scoring more goals than him.. He will loose the game but does not take it to his heart and mind..
Riddhima: sorry..
armaan: sorry kyun ?
riddhima: tumhe bura laga hoga na...
armaan: arey.. why bura yaar.. mein actually khush hoon.. because, i have a very good player.. wherever we go, we will be a team na.. so, chalega.. both of us are gonna rock.
riddhima: yup.. we will..
The next day, all the teachers appreciate armaan and they give him a great round of applause for finishing his work correctly in time. From that day, Armaan starts to concentrate on studies because, he enjoyed getting appreciated and riddhima kept helping him. Muskaan also starts to do combine studies with them and the trio turns to be the best in everything but armaan still keeps sam and vivek away from riddhima.
3 YEARS LATER...
Armaan and Riddhima became the real best friends.. Not just because they named them as best friends but Dill Se.. They became really close and they spend each and every moment together except for a few hours here and there... Nothing in this world matters to them. All they matter is each others happiness. Armaan, who used to study for appreciation, got involved into the dreams of his career and now has a great focus while, riddhima strengthened her goals and is more targetting towards the promises made by her to padma. armaan, in these years became her emotional support.
They never bought their future as wife and husband anytime.. nor they forgot that they are engaged. those thought actually did not matter much to them.. only friendship and each others happiness in the main point.
Today is Riddhima's birthday and armaan has something special planned for her.
He peeped out of his door, and noticed that, Riddhima's room's door is open. So, he makes his way inside.
He saw her sleeping and noticed that, she looked so cute in that pinky white furry night suit. She was hugging a teddy, which is in blue and white, and which looks like an angel.
He did not feel like waking her up but he had to.
Armaan: Basket.. Basket.. RIDDHI..
Riddhima: Ammu.. Please.. Sone do na..
Armaan: Oh no. Please wake up dear. Please..
Riddhima wakes up at last, with a cute frown on her face.
Riddhima: Kya hai ammu ? Sone kyun nahi dete ?
Armaan sits in the back of her and places a cute little diamond pendant on her neck.
It is a silver teddy bear, catching an ice cream.
Armaan whispered in her ear..
Armaan: Happy Birthday BASKET !!
Riddhima: Ammu.. You remember ?
Armaan: How can I forget my pyaari shona's birthday ?
Riddhima hugs him as tight as possible... and whispers, "I love you Ammu"
Armaan: I love you too basket.. Ab chalo mere room mein chaltey hai..
They used to say I love you to each other but it was just a friendly gesture.. But will it turn to be love more than friendship, or they are going to part ways because of their concentration on their career ?
