Part-1
Into the moonlit night, gazing at the moon was this one beautiful young girl standing with a lamp in her hand.. Waiting for someone on a cliff..
A place were she usually comes.
No sooner did the thundering of clouds began she quickly draped herself with a beautiful maroon shawl and ran downstairs. By now it started
drizzling and she was rushing towards her destination.. As soon as she turned the other way this young lad bumped into her..
Person: I'm so sorry.. i..
And this was the moment where he saw those deep, passionate beautiful eyes'. Lost in them he couldn't utter a word'no sooner he blinked his
eyes and she turned the other way and just disappeared in the fog' He chased her, but she vanished away completely.. He wanted to have just
one look of hers but all in vain' Standing there all alone his eyes were still searching her, just than there was a low voice that called out his
name'. "Raj' hey Raj, kaha ho tum? Car thik ho gayi"
He turned and returned back to his car, where his friend Arav was waiting for him..
Arav: kya hua, kaha the tum?
Raj was still lost, thinking about those beautiful eyes' He once again turned around... his eyes still searching her'
Arav: hello' Mr.Malhotra... Will you please get in the car? We are already late'
Raj just smiles, gets in the car and they drive off speedily' On their way back Raj was still thinking about that girl, while Arav failed to understand
Raj's sudden changed behavior. After about 20 minutes they reach to a huge old mansion like house. Both Raj and Arav had a wide smile as soon
as they stepped out of the car. Arav looked up at the window, the lights were still on..
Raj: yeh jagah to bikul nahi badli' itne saal guzar gaye but even today everything is still the same'
Arav: lagta hai wo ab tak hamara intezar kar rahi hai..{points towards the window}
Raj: I think we've had it tonite Arav! Lets rush in!
Raj and Arav pulls out their bags and other stuff and steps into the house...
It was an extremely old place' A huge living room' the floors were covered with very old but extremely beautiful and elegant looking carpets.
The paintings on the wall, the lampshade the classy flower vase and those beautiful silk blue curtains'everything was perfectly placed in there.
Just towards the right were these huge staircases..
Raj walked in and went straight upstairs while Arav followed him' Raj stood outside the door' Lights were still on and it was almost midnight.
He tried to peep in and after a minute was about to pass by just than a voice came out straight from the room.., "Yaha tak aa gaye to ander
nahi aaoge?"
Raj smiles and steps into the room' Those white and blue netted curtains were flowing as the breeze came in straight from the windows..
A lady was sitting on a rocking chair there reading something. She was about 65-67 years old but still looked elegant. As Raj stepped towards
her she smiled, kept the book on the table next to her and turned to Raj.. Raj touched her feet and than hugged her.. She smiled and gently
took his face in her hands and kissed him on his forehead and hugged him again.. She was overwhelmed with joy to see her grandson after 20
years, her heart full of happiness, her eyes full of tears' Raj than looked at her'
Raj: yeh kya? Lagta hai mujhse milkar aap khushi nahi hai'
Devyani: {hits gently on his arm} aaj itne saalo baad apni dadi ki yaad hai tumhe? Ye bhi nahi socha ki main tumhe kitna yaad karti ho'
Raj: ab to aa gaya hu na.. Aur iss baar apko hamare saath delhi aana hi hoga dadima..
Devyani: aaye nahi ke jaane ke baat karne lag gaye?
{just than devyani feels someone's presence outside the room, Raj realized that Arav was still standing outside the room watching the two of
them..He quickly asks him to come into the room and introduces him to devyani}
Raj: Dadima ye mera dost hai.. Arav Mehra. Ye bhi hamare saath yehi rahega'
{arav comes forward and touches devyani's feet, taking her blessings.. devyani smiles and tells him to feel at home.. devyani was a very emotional
but an extreme jolly person. A very extrovert personality, who always believed in living life on her own terms and desires and taught Raj the
same. This was also one of the reasons why Raj was so close to her. For once he may overlook his parents but not Devyani.
It was late night and so after dinner Devyani asked Raj and Arav to take some rest so they both go to their respective rooms'. Arav too
immediately connected with Devyani.. and later the three of them behaved like long lost friends'
Raj was in his room trying hard to sleep but no use' He finally got out of bed and decided to listen to some music.. He than took his I-pod,
and sat beside the window listening to his favorite music.. He than looked down, there was complete silence, not a whisper either on the streets.
But the atmosphere there was just amazing, extremely calm and serene' just the perfect holiday spot where Raj always wanted to be.
Just than a strange thought came to his mind and he suddenly remembered about that girl.. He couldn't forget those deep eyes' He just
smiled'
Raj: {to himself} I think Mr. Raj Malhotra you definitely need some sleep now!
{he than goes back to bed and tries to sleep}
Next morning..
Devyani came to Raj's room.. Raj lay in bed with his eyes closed, one hand was loosely bunched under his chin, the other lay outside the covers..
Devyani smiled and sat beside him and gently placed her hand on his forehead. Raj smiled and gently opened his eyes'
Raj: good morning dadima
Devyani: abhi tak so rahe ho? Mujhe laga tum yaha ghumne aaye ho, per tum to ab tak so rahe ho
Raj: {smiles} kaafi waqt baad itni achi neend aayi'
Devyani: acha ab uth jao, Arav ko dekho..wo apne office chala bhi gaya
{quickly gets up}
Raj: chala bhi gaya? Per office aaj hi?
Devyani: ha, keh raha tha kuch report karna hai, jaldi aa jayega
Raj: per dadima use bhi yaha ka kuch pata nahi hai..phir wo
Devyani: ha uske office ki gadi aayi thi..chalo tum fresh ho jao main breakfast lagwa deti hu..aur ab sona nahi'.
Raj: jee dadimaa'.
Saying this devyani leaves, while Raj freshens up' He than haves breakfast and decides to walk down to the market place as he'd heard a lot
about it. He takes his camera along to capture all those moments. After an hour he leaves for the market. He walks down the streets, watching
the kids going school... some playing near a little pond.. he stood and clicked pictures, than at a distant were some shops that had some kind of
traditional garments.. He decides to have a look at some, though took nothing for that moment. He than turned the other way and from a
distant he could make it that it was the same place where a night before he'd met that pretty girl. He decides to walk down there'
He starts walking in that direction' No sooner did he passed by that street there was a huge blast. People around panicked and ran for their life,
while rest were dead on the spot. Raj was completely shocked. Those kids who were playing near the pond just a few seconds before were
vanished and only blood was left all over.. Raj had never witnessed such a horrified scene before. All he could see was dead bodies. This was
the most dreadful scene he had ever experienced.. He than heard people weeping and wailing for the ones who passed away right in front of
their eyes. Some looking out for their family members' while some were still in the state of shock, while some tried to help the injured ones with some sort of medical aid. Raj just stood there and went completely blank for the moment. He couldn't believe what had just happened. A man than came to him asking
about a child, but Raj was quiet. He than saw a child who was injured and his hand was bleeding, Raj quickly ran towards him and helped him out.
He tried helping the injured ones there, in the meanwhile the police force was there, the ambulances were up, doctors were up, and residents close by also were helping in every possible way to the ones who were injured. Raj than realized that he should inform about his well-being to Devyani and Arav and so he heads towards home but he had to take the other way as the same way was than sealed by the police force. As he turned the other way he felt someone closely passed by him'. Someone actually running to the affected area. She ran and was looking out for someone, Raj just watch her go.. He than realized that she was the same girl who he had met the last night. Meanwhile a police officer came towards Raj and started interrogating him'
