Nupur is waiting outside anxiously jabbering to herslf 'pata nahi is samrat ko ab kya chahiye! (pausing) ander jaakar dekhu kya? (cancelling the idea) nahin! Kuchh der aur intezar karke dekhte hain, shyad baat ban bhi jaye!' she looks at the the door for a second then starts fidgeting once again.

Inside the room

S: mujhe jawab chahie gunjan,(losing temper) answer me God dammit!

G (after some shaky breathing, trying to compose herself): hum ,,,,,hum sirf dost the, sirf dost.

S( breathing in): aacchhaa? Thik hain, is sawal shyad tumhe kuchh hard lagraha hain, hain na? chalo ek asan sa sawal se hi shuru karte hain,,, ek baat batao, main kabhi morena gaya tha?

G (being not able to find the relation gets confused): ye kaise,,,

S (snapping): sirf ha ya na me jawab do. It's an easy one, so please sirf ha ya na me jawab de sakteho, right?

G (finding something fishy about it decides to deny) shakes her head in negative.

S (disgustedly falls back): lie! Jhuth pe jhuth! (showing the receipt to awestruck gunjan) to ye kya hain? Main agar morena kabhi gaya hi nahin to ye mera drawer me kya kar raha hain?

G (gulping): wo actually wo kya hain ke

S: kya hain gunjan? Bolo? Ruk kiu gayi?

G (composing herself): pichhle holi hum sab dostone milkar morena me manayethe. Shyad us samay ka bill hain wo.

S(feeling dumb for his overreaction):uhm! Aachha!? I m so (he freezes as something strikes him) ek minute, baat agar itna simple hi hain to tumne mujhse jhuth kiu kaha? (gunjan mutters something like she was just concerned about his reaction so she lied')oh pls! (snaps samrat,then comes closer to her again, this time almost pleads) pls gunjan, agar hamari vich kuchh tha to pls mujhe batado ,har waqt ek naye sawal khade ho jaate hain,,,jaisa ke main khud sawal ban chuka hoon!cant bear this pressure anymore,(gunjan looks horrified n melted at the same time) in sawalon mujhpe bojh ban kar khadi hain, Pls gunjan, help me out of this! pls!

G (looking determined once again): mujhe jo kehna tha main keh chuki hoon, samrat, isse aage mujhe aur kuchh bhi nahi kehna.

Giving her a one long, disgusted look samrat leaves. Gunjan breaks into tears.

At the Sharma dinning table

Mm : pata hain mayu ? mujhe kucchh din se ek baat bahat disturb kar rahi hain.

M: kaunsi baat?

Mm: nupur

M: nupur? Kya matlab?

Mm: dekh ,,,hum ab tak kam ladkiyan nahi dekhi, lakin har waqt chahe ho hamare yaha ho yaphir kahi aur, hamesha nupur kuchh na kuchh (looking at mayank's protesting gesture, she adds) nahi utna major kucch nahi wo tiny-little things karti rehti hain jiske liye baat shuru honese pehle hi khatam ho jate hain, to mujhe laga shayad uska isme dil na lag rah

M: waisa kucchh nahin hain maa! Tumhe usko samajhneme galathi huyi hogi, aur hume to khush hona chahie! Jo rishta itni chhoti chhoti baton se hi tut jaaye wo rishta ka kya fayda?

Mm: baat me to dum hain! Shyad mujhe hi koi galathi..aneway nupur ko keh dena kaal shamko mujhe aakar mile kuch naye tasvir

M (desperately): maa, mujhe tumse is vaareme kucch baat karna hain.

Mm: aacchha? To bol na?

M: actually (her cell rings) rehne do na maa, pick mat karo.

Mm (picking up the call whispers): important hain, haan guptaji boliye? (she listens to him for while and get tensed) kya! Aap wahi rukiye main abhi aa rahi hoon.

M: kya baat hain maa? Zada pareshani ki baat ho to tum ruko main chala jata hoon, tumhe itna tension

Mm (interrupts him with a smile): mera ek foreign client ke sath meeting preponed ho gaya hain. Bahat bada deal hain! Haath se nahin jaane dena chahiye, koi yension ki baat nahin hain mayu!

M: apna khyal rakhna ma, aur dawai waqt pe le lena!

Mm leaves smiling.

Samrat's place

Samrat is punching his punching bag like hell, recalling each and every bit of memory (first meeting, his hatred, her care, their frndship, their fight, her helping head, her tears n now her denial) he can remember since his amnesia. He hits the bag as hard as he can then dial a number from his cell.

S: I wanna meet you at dinner tomorrow, tarana.

Nujan's room

N: ek mauka tha wo bhi tune gava di gunjan? Tujhe ho kya gaya tha?keh kiu nahin dia use saaf saaf ? shayad use yaad bhi aa jata?shyad

G(wiping off her tear): shyad di, shyad, koi guarantee toh nahi thana?

N:iska bhi koi gurantee nahi tha ke wo explode kare! Jabke wo aisa mood me tha ke shyad wo kuchh aisahi

G: maine tumhe sab kuchh bataya na di? Tumne kabhi ye socha hain ke Ye chhote-mote sawalon ka load hi agar usse sambhala nahin jaraha to itna bada sach uska kya haal kar sakta hain?

Nupur looks like she is gonna protest but bu she doesn't

G (putting her head on nupur's lap): tumhe meri fikar hain di , mujhe pata hain,itna pyar jo mujhse karti ho tum, main bhi usse utnahi pyar karti hoon di, kya mujhe uska thodisi bhi parwa nahin ho sakta?

Nupur keeps mum with her watery eyes.

Next evening at mayank's

N (browising the girls pictures): auntie bura na mane to ek baat puchhu?

Mm (browing her portion): haan beta! Puchho na?

N(hesitating a bit): is terha ki ladki kya mayank ke liye sahi hoga? Ek taraf wo hain itni shant, reserved, down to earth ladka aur dusre taraf ye ladkiya, mujhe kehna toh nahin chahie phirbhi, (she tries to wear off her hesitation) jo main kehna chahti hoon wo hain mayank aur in ladkiyame shayad hi kucch common hain.

Mm: actually nupur, baat ye hain ke, jaisa tumne kaha, mayank khud bahat hi reserved hain to uske life me jobhi ladki ayegi uska open hona, chulbuli sa hona, thodi zyada bolti huyi hona bahat hi zaruri hain. Aur ye sab kuchh aur sath me aur bhi kuchh qualities hain jo tumhe main already bata chuki hoon, anyway jo main keh rahi thi, agar mujhe ye sab baat kisi ek me chahie to kuchh chis me to compromise karnahi hoga.

N: par wo sab to ek normal middleclass ladki me bhi toh hosakta hain na?

Mm(smiling): pata hain beta? tum jaisi keh rahi ho bilkul waise hi ek ladki meri nazar me bhi thi, meri mayank se bilkul alag hote huye bhi similar to the core, jab mayank ne pehlibar kisi ladki se dosti ki to mujhe laga ke baat kucch aage bhi badh sakti hain (sighing, then smiling at nupur's awestruck face)lakin ab jab sal bit gaye phirbhi tum dono wahi ke wahi reh gaye(she shudders) mujhe samajh me aagaya ke mera wo sapna sapna hi reh jaayega,,,haan nupur main tumhari hi baat kar rahi hoon,,, anyway,,,ab jab tumhe mere mayu aur mayu ko tumhe us hadh tak pasand hi nahin hain toh main kya kar sakti hoon haan?

N (still in shock): aun..aun..auntie

Mm: koi baat nahin hain beta, auntie ko bilkul bhi bura nahin laga,,, ek terha se ye shyad aacchha hua, ab mujhe ek nahin do do beti milnewali hain. Ek to tum ho hi aur dusri mere mayu ki honewali (she winks at her, then something bugs her) nupur beta tum photos dekhte raho main abhi ayi . (n she hurries off to another room)

At the diner

Samrat n tarana are sitting facing each other.

S: maine decision le liya hain tarana (he smiles pathetically) ab koi confusion hi nahi raha, isiliye faisala lene me aur koi problem bhi nahin hain

T (examining his every expression, prompts as he looks lost in some painful thoughts): I am listening.

S (as if he is fighting with some1, breaths heavily twice then looks at her with utter determination): will you be my girl?

Back to nupur

Auntie gets in to the room then finds nupur hiding her face in her hand, all the pictures her spilled on the table.

Mm: nupur beta, kya hua? Tum ro kiu rahi ho?

N (trying to be bz , slyly wiping her face with her palm while removing them from her face): nahi to auntie,,,(her voice fails her this time) nain ro nahi rahi hoon! Main to sirf

Mm (holding her chin makes her to face her directly): kya hua beta? mujhe bhi nahi bataogi?

In reply nupur hugs her n cries like anything.

Back to samrat

T (smiling): why?

S: what?

T: why me?

S (searching for reasons): cause ,,,umm,,,yeah , you are a nice girl, anybody wud be lucky to have you in his life besides we do complement each other very much.

T (smirking): very logical,,, very logical indeed, but where is the emotion? It's all from the brains right? Where is the heart samrat?

S: ofcourse there is heart tarana! Or else why wud i

T(snapping): from the day 1 till now u haven't manage to say the three words tht matter to me samrat! So wats the point? N why some1 like me wud get into a relationship tht isn't based on pure luv? I deserve much better samrat! Can you give me tht?

S (exasperated) : Bolo main aisa kya karun jisse tumhe mujhpe yakin ho jayega?

T : just tell me those three words samrat, looking in to my eyes so tht I cud read yours.

S (gets startled for a while, then recovers, inhaling deeply, looks into her eyes): fine, I'll do it. (gulping once) I ,,,,,luv,,,,,

Mayank's room

M (looking behind seeing mom): selection ho gaya? Laao main bhi dekh deta hoon (he spreads his hand but his mom doesn't reply, he senses something is wrong by the look of her) kya huya maa? Tum mujhe aise ku dekh rahi ho? Maine kuch ghalath kiya hain kaya?

Mm: tujhe pehchan ne ka koshish kar rahi hoon mayank, (she sighs) aaj tak main ye soch rahithi ke main apna beta mayankko janti hoon ,,,lakin nahi,,,mera beta to itna bada ho gaya hain ke mujhe bhi paraya kar diya!

M: maa ye sab tum kya keh rahi ho? Maine aisa kya kiya hain jotumhe ,,,

Mm(ignoring him): mujhe apna beta par itna bharosa tha aur (she swallows the lump) usne mere hi pith pichhe,,,chhi!,,,agar meri bahune aaj mujhse sab kuchh nahin kehta to shyad main kabhi bhi

M (as if some1 punched right on his face): maa! Agar koi bhi ladki ye claim kar rahi hain ke wo meri patni hain to ye sarasar jhuth hain! isme koi bhi sacchai nahi hain maa mera yakin karo!

Mm shakes her head in disgust.

The diner

S: I ,,, luv(suddenly, a familiar specky face gives him a blow, all the scenes races through his head, lost in thought he keeps muttering) I ,,,

T: go on

S: I ,,,(he gives up, looking devastated)I,,, I cant! (he exhales in relief but yet exasperated) I m so sorry tarana! But I cant! I dunno whats stopping me!

T (smiling): may be its luv thts stopping u to luving me. Its luv samrat,the thing is its for someone else.

S: sorry?

T smiles meaningfully, sipping her drink.

S keeps looking at her for seconds then mutters ,'gunjan!'

Mayank's room

Mm: acchha? To thik hain, chalo ekbaar milhi lo tum use (to the girl outside) beta zara ander ana!

Mayank is awestruck seeing the girl at the door step, he mutters , 'nupur!' even forgetting to declare his joy.

Nupur tries to give a shaky smile but doesn't even manage tht too!

Bhushan's garden

Gunjan is taking a stride after a daylong rest. She trips n about to fall when some1 holds her .

G (shocked): samrat tum yaha?

S: yehi to ana tha mujhe gunjan, (gunjan looks all the more confused, as samrat straightens her up but doesn't let go) destiny kehkar bhi to ek baat hote hain na?

G:main kuchh samjhi nahin.

S(getting euphoric like a school boy): mujhe bhi to samjhme nahin aaraha tha ab tak! Tum bhi yakin nahi karogi gunjan!

G: kya yakin nahin karungi samrat?

S (almost shouting): I m in love gunjan! (gunjan's face loses its color) I m truly, desperately, deeply in luv! (holding her arms once again) I dunno how , I dunno why, I dunno when did I fall in luv gunjan! I dunno how did I fall in luv with you!

Gunjan looks bewildered.

S: I luv you gunjan! I really do!

gunjan still cant blv this is actually happening, it can be told easily by the look of her face!
