PART 1
"Mumma, do you really want me to do this?"
"Yes beta. I know that you have toiled hard for getting what you wanted. I no one to stand in the way of your dreams."
"You will never stand in my way Mumma. I love you. How can I leave you like this? Who will take care of you when I will be gone? How will you live with Papa alone when I am gone?" She broke down hugging her mother who was a saviour for her.
Padma, a teacher in a govt. school, she worked hard to give her children, Amit and Ridhima a life that she always wanted to have. But having been married to a man who loved nothing but money thrashed all her dreams. The small fights that she had with her husband, which eventually turned into bigger ones always bothered her. Every night while going to bed she made a resolve that she will give her children the best of everything, specially love that they failed to receive from their father. Her children were supportive of her. She thanked god for blessing her with angels. She wanted Ridhima to go to Delhi and pursue her dreams, knowing fully well that it will do her good.
"You need not worry. After all Amit will be there with me all the time, won't he? I know what you have always wanted and I just want you to get it. I don't want you to ruin your life living here. Please Ridhima, just do this one thing for me. Go and fulfill your dreams... "

Ridhima Gupta is finally off to Delhi. The place where she always wanted to be. Her home town. She was born in Delhi, lived there for about twelve years when her family moved to Mumbai. Her heart always yearned to be in Delhi because that is the place she loved the most. That is where she had spent her childhood. After studying medicine in Mumbai, she wanted to go to Delhi and pursue her internship in the most prestigious hospital- Sanjeevni. But she had a dilemma. Going to Delhi meant leaving her mother. She could not think of this. After witnessing the fights and the furious exchange of words between her parents frightened her. She loved her mother to the core and had the exact opposite feeling for her father. Seeing the fights almost everyday made her decide that she will never live a life that her mother lived. She wanted to stand on her own toes and not depend on anyone else. And for doing this she knew that she had to leave.

Nearing the door of her mother's room, she is happy and sad both. Happy because she is going to fulfill her dreams and sad because she will no longer get to see her mother. But she knew that is what everything wanted so she cheered herself up, her Mumma would not like to see her like this.
She entered her mother's room. Padma was sitting on the bed looking into a photo album, cherishing the memory of the days she spent with her angels, her children. As she saw her daughter coming towards her she closed the album hurriedly and turned to Ridhima.
"So, Ridhima have you packed everything?"
"Yes Mumma. My flight is in an hour. I am leaving." She said looking down.
Padma enveloped her daughter in a hug and whispered in her ear.
"I would miss you beta.."
"I would mis you too." Ridhima said on the verge of tears.
Sensing that Ridhima will again start crying, Padma pulled out of the hug and continued with a wide smile.
"My little angel will finally be a doctor...take care while treating patients. You know I won't like your patients coming to me and say that my daughter didn't treat us but did the quite the opposite..!!"She said grinning.
"That will never happen Mumma. After all not everybody has the privilege of being treated by me." She replied to her mother's funny ways of her making her smile.
"Oh! I never thought you would reply like that."
"Sangati ka asar hai Mumma!"
"Stupid girl! Anyways now, hurry up to your room and get your luggage to the car. Amit is waiting for you. I will just come in two minutes"
"Yes Mumma."

Bidding a final bye to her brother Amit and her mother, she hugged both of them and proceeded towards her flight. Her father had never been there like always. However, she did not regret it any longer.
"Ridhima, make sure you call us as soon as you reach the flat."Padma directed in her usual way.
"You will not go out after dark, is that understood behna?"Amit said. He pampered her sister very much. Even though he didn't want her to go, he didn't show it, he knew she would be definitely happy.
"Now, you two! Stop with her practice of throwing instructions at me, ok? I am a big girl now and can handle things. Instead of hugging me you two are telling me what to do, how foolish of you!" Ridhima replied.
"If that is what you wanted, then..." Padma and Amit said in unison and after a second both of them enveloped Ridhima into a rib crashing hug, such that all the air in her lungs was squeezed out of her body... a small smile playing on their lips....
"Accha accha thike thike...ab hato bhi sahi! Bye Mumma, bye bhaiya...I would miss you." She said hugging them back.
She picked up her purse and walked towards her destination. Turning back for one last time she looked at her mother and bro waving back at her and shouting to take of herself. She blew them a flying kiss each and continued to walk ahead thinking about what her favorite city has in store for her.

So here is part 1. I have set the story in Delhi because I love this city.😊
Please comment on it. I would love to know what you all feel about this. I have started writing the next part where Armaan and Ridhima meet. I know this part may seem boring to you but I had to include this.
Waiting for your comments...😊
