The Law of Satoshi - Episode 1 - Pg.1

The wind flew through the house. 4B, Heaven Villa, Majestic Street, Heaven was the address of God. Two people arrived outside the villa. A boy with dark brown hair easily amazed at the sight said, "So Mr. K, is this the house of God?" His partner who had grey hair and was casual even after seeing the huge mansion replied with a nod. The boy did not jump or move but instead his eyes filled with fear. Of course he had to be tensed, he was going to face God! "So have you met him before?" the boy asked with curiosity. "Look Satoshi, I may be your history teacher but to know our history is none of your business" replied Mr. K as he started walking towards the door.

Satoshi followed his teacher to the door. The mansion stood tall, with its wall painted white. The gate was made up of some metal and in front of it was a patch of grass. Satoshi walked behind Mr. K partly appreciating the beauty while keeping a sulky mood. Mr. K knocked at the door. "Do you knock the door in heaven? Sheesh! Heaven is not at all advanced" said Satoshi trying to offend his teacher. "Yes we do. It is a religious custom." Mr. K still faced the door trying to avoid him. Satoshi was so obsessed in laughingthat he did not notice that someone had opened the door.

"Ah! Welcome Kenji. Takeshi has been waiting for you" said the butler of the house. "Satoshi are you coming?" said Kenji with is eyes fixed on him. The butler guided both of them to upstairs to a room. "Takeshi, seeing you after a long time" shouted Kenji to the man sitting on the chair. Satoshi and Kenji sat down on the chairs facing the table. In the table lay many papers, which looked very important. "So he must be your warrior" said Takeshi to Kenji. Kenji nodded giving more respect than before. "Is he God?" Satoshi whispered to Kenji. But instead Takeshi replied, "Of course I am. But I don't look like one do I?" "Not with those trousers, a flower patterned shirt, a hat and cool sunglasses!" replied the boy. "Satoshi! Remember whom you are talking to" scolded Kenji. "Stop!" just a word from God and Mr. K sat back leaning on the chair. Mr. K's behaviour made it clear to Satoshi that Takeshi was a superior person. But was he really God?

"What are you thinking my boy? Whether I am God or not? You can test me" Satoshi nodded his head with suppressed eagerness. He took hid his hand behind his back and asked "How many fingers am I holding behind my back?" "None" God replied confidently. "You are wrong mister" said Satoshi as he removed his hand. He was taken back at the sight. His hand had turned into a foot. Satoshi gasped while Mr. K smiled. "Are you confirmed now?" asked Takeshi with a grin. Satoshi nodded his head slightly showing respect to the ruler of the universe. "Now coming to the point" said Takeshi "the battle game" "The Battle game!" exclaimed Satoshi.

"Didn't you tell him about that Kenji?" Mr. K sat quiet. "Very well" he continued "I shall explain it to you." Satoshi leaned forward. "To choose the God amongst heavenly beings I, God grant the permission to chosen heavenly beings to give powers to students between the age of 13 and 15 from Hazel's Graduation School. Your teacher Kenji is a chosen heavenly being. The students will fight each other here at heaven in a selected place called the battle zone. The last standing person is the winner and his God candidate, the person who has given him the powers, will be chosen as the God." After Takeshi completed the lecture Satoshi seemed more eager and excited.

"You will be allotted a guide" Takeshi continued "who will help you navigate through the battle zone. The guide will not have any powers and will be a student from your school of your age. She will have the map and all the navigation instructions will be added to her brain." Mr. K looked at Takeshi who immediately responded by handing over some papers to Kenji. Kenji filled the details and handed it over to Takeshi. "Well your choice of power has been granted" said Takeshi cheerfully. "Wait! Don't I get to make a choice?" interrupted Satoshi. "No!" replied Kenji as he walked out. Satoshi followed him. Takeshi's smile gradually disappeared when another candidate appeared.

Outside the villa Mr. K stopped and turned back. He caught Satoshi by his shirt and crouched a bit. Suddenly He jumped up in the air. Soon Satoshi realized that he was far above the ground. He turned up and looked at Kenji who now had wings. Satoshi's eyes widened. Soon they were back on the ground but somewhere else. "What is this place?" asked Satoshi. "This is the Amity Square." "Wow!" exclaimed Satoshi looking all around. He then turned his gaze towards Kenji. "This is a place of peace and harmony. Nobody is allowed to fight here" said Kenji. "But why are we here?" asked Satoshi looking at different objects.

Kenji turned his eyes towards some shops and signalled Satoshi to look at them. "We a here to buy something?" He questioned Kenji but was distracted when he saw a group of students practicing martial arts. "Kenji, you said no fighting is allowed. But they are fighting." "That's the match practice square. People practice over there to master their martial arts skills. Get it Satoshi? Now let us buy some Zai's" "What are Zai's?" "Zais are talents which help you stay in the battle game. Whenever you lose a fight, you lose a talent. And if you lose al your talents..." "What? What will happen Kenji?" Kenji gave a big smile and calmed down. Seeing this Satoshi felt that the outcome would just be something small. Kenji continued "...you will just lose your place in heaven and you will disappear. Not just that it will erase everyone's memories and they will forget you." "Kenji!" Satoshi let out a loud scream that filled the whole of amity square.

Kenji sat down in the corner and started sobbing. "Look on the bright side kid; you can become the assistant of God. And you can have a blank talent, a talent that will be anything you choose – it can be the girl charisma talent, it can be the talent of intelligence..." but before Kenji could complete his sentence Satoshi shouted "I am ready!" "This kid is crazy about girls. Anyway, he is the only one bold enough." Kenji thought as he walked to the shop. They stopped there and made a few purchases. On their way back Satoshi asked "Key Kenji, you did not tell me what is my talent." "It's a surprise!" Kenji exclaimed as he ran away.

That night Satoshi could not sleep at all. His eyes were fixed on the moon that was visible from his window. He could hear the howling of dogs. He let out a sigh and closed his eyes dreaming about tomorrow. Thoughts like "What if I lose?" and "Girl charisma talent as a prize. Whoa! Girls will be crazy about me" ran in his mind. But he forgot about his guide.

The next day he reached heaven through the key Kenji had given him. He rushed towards Kenji but was surprised to find another student standing beside him. It was Sakura Ai, whom Satoshi had hated from nursery. "Why is she here? Is she also taking part in the battle game?" asked Satoshi avoiding Sakura. "Yes" replied Kenji calmly. "What? What power does she have? Some tiny-mini power. Ku-chi-ku-chi-ku" said Satoshi as he troubled Sakura. "I am your guide" "What? Sakura Ai, my battle game guide! No!" exclaimed Satoshi very dramatically. "Satoshi, stop behaving like a kid. She is the most intelligent student" explained Kenji while Satoshi sobbed for having bad luck and Sakura raised her head in pride. "And..." continued Kenji "...no one would believe in my story." "So that is why you made me that dweeb's guide! I am quitting."

Kenji repeated the list of consequences that he had told to Satoshi. Sakura fumed in anger while Satoshi made fun of her. "Hello everyone! The battle game is about to start in fifteen minutes. Power users, stay with your guides. You all will be transported to different places. This tournament continues everyday from noon to midnight." All God candidates left the grounds. A huge portal sucked in everyone. "Where are we?" asked Satoshi to Sakura who had fallen on the ground. "Cape Junction." But the answer did not come from Sakura. It came from behind.

"And that's the place where I am going to crush you." Satoshi was surprised as he had found his first opponent. Sakura looked at the opponent with her eyes wide. He turned his hand into a hand of steel and punched Satoshi. The impact caused Satoshi's nose to bleed. At the sight of blood Sakura fainted. "Sakura!" shouted Satoshi in despair.

With Sakura unconscious and himself unaware of his power how will Satoshi win the tournament? And what about his opponent. The fight continues next time on the Law of Satoshi.
