Soon Riddhima started telling all about Mumbai and how much she missed the gang. And in no time they reached the Gupta Mansion. The Gupta mansion was a two story house with a seperate garage for cars and a beautiful lawn covering the area before the house. Armaan and Kavya parked the car in the garage and went inside. The inside was decorated with white walls, bright paintings and glassed decoration peices. The living room was comforatble and casual with a Tv, stereo, cordless, family photos, bean bags and what not! Since the Khanna's would settle down in the evening after all the cleaning and setting is done in their new house, till then they would stay with the Gupta's. It was decided that the Gupta's would give a feast to the 3 families the next day. Naina along with the other mums, was gone shopping as she needed to decorate the house and the dads were discussing politics and what not!! So Kavya decided that they show Laksh and Angad around.

The Mall, was the first place they had shown but before Anjali could force them to stop, they were out of there. They then showed the Khanna boys their college. And then in the end, they went to Gradient.

Laksh: What's Gradient?
Kavya: Adidtya Sharma aka Armaan and Kripa's grand father, he started it. It's a drama institute.
Kt: We are organizing a play very soon, I'm sure you will take part, wont you Ridzie??
Riddhima: Of course!!! What's it about??
Kt: It's about a princess falling in love with her body guard. And I'm playing the princess.
Anjali: No way!! I am playing the princess!
Riddhima: I just arrived, I think I should get play the princess.
Kripa: OMG! No fair .. I spent a whole week of sleepless night thinking about the plot.. I think I deserve to be the princess, thank you very much.
Kt: But you are the director.
Anjali: And the writer. Besides you also get to be the servant.
But each girl had different opinions, that were being forced onto the others.

Gradient was a large, beautiful, white building with green, glass windows that matched the perfectly mowed grass and the huge trees surronding it. The building was divided into 3 sections. The first one was on the extreme right for students that were taking Music or Art(any subject of it) , as an profession. The other section was in the center for those people who take the 3 months courses for some subjects, like painting etc. and the third section was on the left for people who wanted to hold shows, or exibitions or any event to showcase their talents. Kavya turned towards the left. When Angad and Laksh, entered the bulding, they saw a beautiful dark brown desk with a tidy pile of papers, a register, a telepohone and stationary kept on it. Behind the desk was a lady in her 50's, sitting on a comfortable looking chair. The gang greeted her as "Hina aunty" and moved towards an unbelievably huge room. On the front wall of the room was a large stage, that was to be set by the gang. While, all the other areas that were at the moment, filled with boxes, paints, two large sofa's, a day bed, a radio and a huge stereo, were to be at the time of the play occupied with the seats. If, you went back stage, there were two dressing rooms on each opposite side. Both of the dresssing rooms were connected to the costume room. Next to the dressing rooms, were the bathrooms and a huge store room, which marked the end of the back stage. Opposite to the stage room was another large room, where the audience recieved drinks and snacks.

Even after reaching Gradient, the girls didnt stop fighting.The girls sat on one sofa and continued arguing. Kavya and Armaan were getting annoyed but were also aware of Laksh and Angad's presence, and the fact that they (the khanna's) were amusingly staring towards the girls, which added to their (Armaan and Kavya's) annoyance, but they never said anything.
Untill, that is when the girls got a little far by starting a fight using the cushions of the sofa.
Armaan: Enough!!!! None of you plays the princess.
Kt: But, who would then play that role.
Armaan: I'm sure we'll find someone.
Anjali: But what will we do then??
Armaan: Don't worry, theres a long list of characters.
Riddhima: So this is how you guys welcome me!!!!
Armaan: ??? Fine you know what bring a pen , paper and bowl. Lets end this thing once and for all.
The little boy(who was supposed to play the little prince) standing near Kavya, ran obediently , got the pen, papaer and bowl and did what he was asked to.
Kavya: Write the names and we'll pick one out and NO ARGUMENTS!!!

The little kid, scribbled on the paper and after tearing it into many pieces, he folded each of them and then placed them inside the bowl. He handed the bowl, to Kavya, who handed it to Kripa.
Kripa: No way! I suck at this.
She passed it to Anjali.
Anjali: You try!
She shoved it to Riddhima.
Riddhima:Kt ?
Kt : Na na.
Not taking a no for an answer, Riddhima kept it on Kt's lap.
Kt looked at Laksh seated beside her.
Laksh: Well??
Kt: You do it!
He smiled at annoying beauty and took the bowl from Kt. Accidently, when there hands touched, Laksh felt as if Kt had said something. He looked up to see her praying. He smiled. Silly girls. He thought. Fighting over a stupid role!

He held it out to Armaan. Armaan picked up one folded piece and gave it to Kavya.
Kavya: Before I read it, no arguements and anyone whose name comes out has to do this role!!
All the girls nodded.
Kavya unfolded the pice without looking and when looked at the name written, he first gave the little kid an annoyed stare and then hid the paper behind his back.
Armaan: What is it?
Kavya: Ahhemm, I think we should pick another one, it's blank!
Armaan: At least show na!!!
Kavya: No dude I'm telling you it's bl-.
Armaan had already taken the paper out of his hands.
Armaan: Hah!! And the lucky one is.................... Kavya!!
Girls: What??
All the boys starting chuckling, except Kavya.
Kavya: Yeah yeah ..very funny! Now lets try again! And where is that kid?? I thought I told him to write the girls' names only.
Armaan: You didnt!
Kavya: I did.
Armaan: No! You said names...not girls' names.
Kavya: What ever choose.
Armaan: Why?
Kavya: Dude! Not now!
Armaan: Seriously, if you play the princess, then the girls wont fight and the play will have a hint of comedy too!!

After alot of trouble the cast was decided. (Note the play is a modern one, with modernized royalities!)
Armaan=Bodyguard.
Kavya=Princess.
Anjali=the royal cook.
Kt= the royal maid/servant.
Kripa=the royal assistant.(of the Princess)
Riddhima= the royal doctor.
=King
Tulsi(since she is a housewife and doesnt have guests either.)=Queen
the little kid= little prince
=royal advisor/minister.
And some other people play the other Lords, Soldiers, Bodyguards and Messengers.

Kavya: Shit! No king and no royal advisor/minister.
Riddhima: Well..I'm sure Angad and Laksh could do fit in the roles?
Laksh took a step forward and rasied his neck.
Laksh: Ladies and Gentlemen, honour your King.
Angad: I choose to be the royal advisor/minister.
Kavya: cool!
Armaan: great all set!! reheasals began at 11 am. tommorrow! But for now,lets all head home.

When they arrive, the parents are ready to leave. Kripa and Prerna follow Armaan into their car, as The Virani's get inside their(virani's) car.
The youngsters couldnt wait to meet their new friends again, so the night went slowly.

Great part

The rehearsals begin.
Armaan: The first scene is where, the King and Queen are seated on their throne, and they command the maid to call the Princess. Soon the Princess will enter, with the royal Assistant behind her (who will repeat the King and Queen, when,everytime the Princess greets them) , and the Princess greets the royal Couple 5 times. The royal couple reply and greet the Princess. After a little chit chat , they tell the Princess, about a young Prince, who has asked for her hand -

Kavya: What!?!?! Her hand? Why does he want her hand?
Armaan: Her hand as in ask her for marraige! Any ways, so the Princess agrees to meet this Prince. Their marraige is actually meant to be a compromise between the two Kingdoms.. In scene 2, she will hear the loyal servant singing a love song, making her realise, that she cannot marry without love but first lets do the first scene's rehearsals! Cool?
All: Cool!

Laksh(King) and Tulsi(Queen) are seated in two chairs with a small table in between with a bowl of Apples placed in the center. The stage is not set but the rehearsals take place on it. Soon, Tulsi(Queen) commands Kt(royal maid/servant) to call Kavya(Princess). Kavya, enters the stage in his usual fast and manly strides, leaving Kripa(royal assistance) behind. He greets the royal Couple once and walks towards the Apples.

Armaan(who at the moment was directing the play):Cut! Dude! Walk slowly , like a girl, gently. And greet the Couple 5 times. And stop eyeing those Apples, you monster!
He grabs Kavya hair , and friendly kicks him towards the stage.

Again, the play starts and again Kavya, enters in the same way, greets the Couple 3 times and then forgets his lines.
Kavya: Long live the Royal Couple.
Kripa: The Royal Couple.
Kavya: Long live the Royal Couple.
Kripa: The Royal Couple.
Kavya: Long live the Royal Couple.
Kripa: The Royal Couple.
Kavya: Long li.... (he eyes the Apples and forgets his lines).

Armaan: Cut!!!!!!!!!! Dude! For the last time stop-
Kavya: Ok! Sorry! One last try.

The scene goes perfectly fine except Kavya's pace and his manly walk. The girls decide, that he should wear heals, thereby creating a chaos in the costume wardboard and boxes. None of the sizes fit him. Finally they manage to find him a pair with heals. Now the girls are teaching him to walk. Riddhima holds the right hand, Kt the left hand , Kripa is behind him and Anjali in front. Kavya unstabley takes an unbalanced step and steps on Anjali's toe. Anjali shrieks, and unconciously moves forward,and holds Kavya's shoulders as she falls over him, Kavya trips and falls on top of Riddhima, Kripa and Kt. Anjali is shouting of because of the pain where as Kavya is staring at her, for the first time noticing the her ocean deep eyes. As the boys push him off of the other girls, reality strikes back to him and he gets up and helps Anjali get up too.

Kripa: I think, that even this huge pair is a bit tight for you.
Kavya blushes."A little." He replies.
Kt: To the mall!!!!
Kt stands up.
Armaan throws himself on the sofa.
Armaan: No!!
Anjali: Got a better idea Romeo??
Riddhima: I got one! Why dont I-
Kavya: No! You guys dont start again!
Riddhima: Looks like Kavya likes being Juliet!
Kavya rolls his eyes.
Kavya: If you think that ur little jokes will get you that role... you are wrong!!

On the way to the mall, Kavya is driving and Kt is in the front passenger seat, and Anjali is sitting on the back seat, but her head is sticking out in the front and is in between, Kt and Kavya. Both the girls are deciding on which shop to go on , making Kavya take numberless turns.

While at the back, there is an awkward silence. Kripa, being the quiet girl she is,was busy looking outisde the window. Riddhima, suddenly, feels a little uncomfortable in front of Armaan. Laksh is busy text messaging his friends in Mumbai.While, Angad and Armaan are talking.

Angad: Are they always like this??
Armaan: Well, Kt is like that, but not Kripa and Anjali, probably excited since Riddhima is here.
Angad: Ahan! I always thought girls in Shimla, were the quiet, shalwar kameez type but these girls are quite, wild.. I guess.
Armaan: O. Ok!
Armaan didnt like that comment.
Armaan got annoyed and returned back to his reserved mode. He had, five minutes ago,thought of Angad to be a mannered guy.But it turns out that he was as a matter of fact, kinda, like a flirt. Armaan found that out when he asked Angad what Angad liked about Mumbai and he replied "girls!" .
To be true, Armaan was annoying, irritating and talked alot with his close ones and people he thought he could open up to but what he was not was a flirt and he always respected women. He hated flirts! His dad, had caused him to respect women due to his actions and his rude behaviour towards Prerna, and it was one of the only things, he actually thanked his dad for.

So he decided to not let these "Mumbai Boys", get friendly with the girls of his gang. Ok, maybe the girls were wild but he knew that they were also innocent.

Kripa: Armaan!?!?
Armaan came looked up at Kripa, who was out of the car, like everybody else.
Kripa: Kya hua??
Armaan: Kuch nahi! Lets go!
Kripa: Ok "Romoe"!! (She imitates Anjali).
Armaan looks at Kripa. He gives her hair little pull and rans away. Kripa rans three steps after him but then decides not to and starts walking. Riddhima joins her.
Riddhima: Why in a hurry.
Kripa: Nope! Just messing around with Armaan.
She and Riddhima look at Armaan, who was sticking his tongue out in Kripa's direction.
Riddhima: Did he just?
Kripa: Yes! He does that alot!
Riddhima laughs, and Kripa laughs alittle too. But Riddhima laughed a little too much thinking about his weird action. But Riddhima stopped when she saw, Kripa giving wierd looks to her and to Armaan.
Riddhima: Yeah rite!
Kripa purposely didnt stop.
Riddhima: Stop that!!
Kripa: OK!!
She said as if she didnt care.
Riddhima was glad that Armaan hadn't noticed any of this. But she still explianed to Kripa, why she was laughing, again and again untill Kripa finally told her that she (Kripa) was joking.
Riddhima: I knew that!
She pretends to laugh knowingly and cover up.
The girls enter the shop to see that Kavya was no where insight.
They looked back and saw him behind Armaan. The girls ran upto him.
Kt: Come on ! Watchya waiting for??
Kavya: I am not going to go inside that shop.
Riddhima: Oh come on!
Kavya: No!!
Kripa: We'll cover you up.
Armaan: And I'll go with you.

So it was decided. Inside the shop, Anjali and Kt, went to find heals for Kavya, where as the guys and Riddhima and Kripa covered him when he tried each shoe. He could hear, the boys chuckling and the girls giggling but he ignored them because he really wanted to help Prerna.

By the time, they were done, it was time to get ready for the feast the Gupta's were giving.

By 7'O' clock, the males and the mothers were ready. Shanshank was wearing a black suit with a white shirt and a black tie. Mihir was wearing a blue shirt underneath a black siut with a black tie. Padma was wearing a beautiful white sari, while Tulsi was wearing a gorgeous blue one. Dilip was wearing a black suit with a peach shirt underneath and similarily Naina was clad in a peach sari. Prerna was wearing a pretty lime green sari. By 8pm, the neighbours and the peoiple invited had started to arrive.

Armaan and Kavya were helping the servants. Armaan, wearing a red shirt on dark blue jeans and Kavya, wearing a black shirt on dark blue jeans, along with Laksh, who was wearing a dark brown shirt underneath a black suit and Angad who was wearing an orange shirt, had all managed to grab the attention of young girls.

The girls soon enter, commenting on each others dresses.
Riddhima comes out wearing a red churidar pajama and a beautifully embroidedd red kameez.
Anjali is clad in a gorgeous black Paityala shalwar and a black kameez with thin golden embroidery on it.
Kt flashes out wearing a long brown kameez with thin white and golden embroidery and a brown coloured capri.
Kripa enters wearing an orange coloured shalwaar, and a bright orange kameez with simple golden work on it. (All the girls have their specified coloured duppata's )
