Part 6
Milind was about to kiss her, when his cell started ringing. And the moment was lost. Milind immediately moved back in shock. One look at his face and Prachi knew that he regretted it. She slowly closed her eyes, in order not to cry.
Milind looked at her one last time, and then he turned and picked up the phone as he angrily ran his other hand through his hair.
He got off the phone a few seconds later. He looked at Prachi, and she was standing there as if nothing had happened.
"I have an emergency at office." He finally told her and started walking towards the other side of his car. "When are you leaving?" she asked him in a hurry, fearing that if he left now she might not meet him for a week.
Milind stops and looks at her "Tonight."
"Can I come with you?"
"To New York?" he asked her shocked.
"No, now." She said "To office." She clarified.
Milind continued to look at her, thinking about her request.
"Please."
Milind sighs. Prachi smiles as she says "Thank you." and immediately gets inside the car. While Milind stood outside and wondering why he was behaving like this today. Was it because he was sad about leaving Prachi? But it was for a week, and he was going to be back soon. But then, ever since they got to know each other, this was the first time, they were going to be away from each other. Milind sighs again, and slowly gets in the car and without saying anything, he starts driving.
Milind was sitting in his office and reading some file, while Prachi sat opposite to him and watched him. Milind has been juggling between his office and studies. And she knew that was the main reason why he made her do all his class works. He had no time. He was responsible for the hundreds that worked for him, so every spare second he got, he worked. But this was the first time she has come to his office. Just watching him work was giving her so much joy. Suddenly, he looked at her, and she smiled at him. He returned her smile, though a little hesitantly at first.
There was a knock at the door, Milind bid the person to enter and his manager, Gupta walked in.
"Good morning, Sir"
Milind nodded, and returned his attention back to the file. Manager looked at Prachi, confused and shocked at first then he smiles as he bends his head down slightly as in greeting her "M'am."
Prachi smiles at him. Out of the corner of her eyes, she notices a moment and looks at Milind and sees him signing some papers.
"Is there anything else?" Milind asked him as he closed the file he had been reading all this while.
"No, sir."
"Okay. I will be leaving for NY tonight and will be back in a week. Contact me if there is any kind of emergency."
"Yes sir."
Milind gets up and looks at Prachi "Prachi?"
Prachi nods and gets up. She smiles at the manager, as she exited with Milind.
They were in the lift, when Prachi looked at him and excitedly said "I love your office."
Milind looks at her in shock at first, and then slowly realized that he had never brought her here before. On more than one occasion Ayesha had come here, but never Prachi. Now seeing the excitement on her face, he regretted never bringing her here before.
"Where are we going now?" Prachi asked him excitedly.
"College."
Prachi makes faces, Milind couldn't help smile tenderly at her "Where do you want to go?"
"Hmmmm…. We will go shopping, I am sure you will need new clothes."
"Okay." He agreed for her sake.
Prachi was so excited about the shopping, that Milind decided to entertain her and tried on every shirt, T-shirt, jeans, pants and jackets she shoved on him without a word of protest. Then, once she was satisfied with his new wardrobe, Milind asked her to shop for herself.
"What do I buy?" she asked him confused.
"Whatever you want." he says with a loving smile.
"You select something for me." Prachi sweetly asked him.
"I never shop for myself, and I am gonna shop for someone else." He says outraged.
Prachi looks disappointed. Seeing that Milind feels bad and says sweetly "Why don't you wear a few dress and show me, and I will tell you whether it suits you or not?"
"Okay!" she agrees excitedly.
"Milind, how is this?"
Milind looks her up and down, twice "Okay."
"Just okay?"
"No..no.. good."
"I will try something else?"
"Yeah sure. Try as much as you want."
"Milind, how is this?"
Milind looks her up and down, twice "Good."
"Just good?"
"No.. no.. very good."
"I will try something else?"
"Yeah sure."
"Milind, how is this?"
Milind looks her up and down, once "Very good."
"Really… am I looking fat?"
"No…no."
"I will try something else?"
"Sure."
"Milind, how is this?"
Milind looks at her "Excellent."
"Really… you sure?"
"Yes."
"I will try the other color?"
"Yeah?"
"Milind, how is this?"
"Nice"
"That's it?"
"No…. really very nice."
"I will try something else?"
"Yeah? (a little worried) Really?"
"Milind, how is this?"
"(Yawn) Very good."
"Do you think so?"
"(Double yawn) Of course."
"Should I buy this one or the blue one that I wore be4 the last one?"
"Yeah sure (Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn)… you try another one, I will wait."
"Milind, how is this?"
"Perfect." He says a little drowsy.
"Really?" she asks him irritated.
"Yes, I think you should buy it." Milind nodded his head.
"I don't think that is possible?"
"(yawn)Why?" he asked her confused.
"Because, I came wearing this." She said pissed.
"Oops." And all the sleep left him. He looks at Prachi and she was glaring at him.
"Sorry, Prachi… you know, shopping is not my cup of coffee." Milind said guilty
Prachi pouts.
"If you want, you buy the whole shop, but don't ask me to check out another dress, please I beg you." Milind said making cute faces at her.
Prachi starts smiling "I will take this blue and that red one."
Milind smiles happily "Excellent. Now can we leave?"
"Yeah, but after we pay for it."
Milind grins. They walk towards the counter with everything they picked.
After they had an early dinner, Milind took Prachi home, and she helped him pack. And she insisted on going to the airport with him.
They were at the airport. Milind and Prachi walked towards the entrance, then he stopped and turned to look at her and he slowly touches her cheeks, and smiles "Bye."
Prachi trying to fight her tears nods "I will miss you."
"I know… and I will miss you also."
Suddenly, Prachi hugged him. And he hugged her back, tightly.
"Listen Prachi, it's high time. Once I come back, we need to talk." He told her.
Prachi moves back and looks at him, then slowly leans up and kisses him on his cheeks. Milind slowly kisses her on her forehead.
"I have to go." Milind says in disappointment.
"Will you call me?" suddenly, she asked him.
"I will try… but I might be really busy… if I don't, you will understand ri8?" he asked her hopefully.
Prachi smiles reassuringly "Don't worry."
"I had a great time today." Milind told her as he tried to stall for time.
"Me too."
Then there was nothing left to say so Milind left. Prachi walked out off the airport and was about to take a taxi, when a car came there and Varun came out of it.
"He left?" Varun asked as soon as he saw her expression.
Prachi nods.
Varun walks towards her hugs her and asks her "Are you going to be alright?"
Prachi hugs him tight and nods as she tried to fight back the tears.Precap
