Ok phirse late!! And I don't think this part is one of my best but lets see what happens. I have the weirdest idea in my head and its bound to be cute but you never know how things turn out. Well most of you guys have been loyal readers since the start and I really appreciate that. Please comment/criticize as I know for a fact I am going a little nuts with this FF!! Thanks!!

Muskaan - Chokri?

Muna - Yeh aap ke liye. Specially Rahul uncle se!

Muskaan immediately smiles and takes the gifts in her hands.

Muskaan smells the flowers with a long sniff and closes her eyes. She had started to calm down and then these arriving now in the hands of the cutest kids was perfect. How could she stay mad at him when he did such cute things?

She looks at the flowers and sees a note. As she reaches for the note the children look at each other as they were startled that she would soon realize that the flowers were not meant for her after all.

Part 18

Muna tries her best to try to snatch the note away but Muskaan was too engaged in trying to read the note that she just swatted away any of her attempts. As Muskaan opened it up Muna looked back at her friends with concern.

Muna whispering - Bhaago!!

And the girls went running down the hall back to their unit. Atul was trying to stop them but then thought otherwise.

Atul - Musibat gayi!! Yeh aaj kaal ke bache bhi na..

Atul looks at Muskaan who is muttering the letter out loud.

The Note:
Pyare Uncle Ji!
I hope you recover well from your hernia operation.
Enjoy these flowers now and the chocolates when you heal.
Love.. aapki batheeji.. Sonali

Muskaan - Sonali? Kya?

She looks confused and finally looks up to see that the girls have fled the scene.

Muskaan angered again - Is piddhe ko toh.. main abhi hi dekh loongi!!

Atul muttering - Rahul toh gaya!! Bechara! Kaisi pathni mili hai.

Muskaan - Kya bola?

Atul - Nah..nahin.. kuch nahin. Bas tu kitni achi si pathni hai, bol raha tha.

Muskaan - Haan. Toh theek hai.

........................................

Back in the peds ward. The girls come running in.

Rahul is busy on the phone still trying to order the flowers.

Muna - Uncle.. uncle..

Since Rahul was not paying attention to her, she took the phone from him and hung it up leaving Rahul staring at her in bewilderment.

Rahul did not seem pleased anymore. He was tolerant of her for too long already.

Rahul - Muna!! Yeh bohot ho gaya! Phone kyun rakha?

Muna was actually taken aback by his authoritative voice.

Muna - Uncleji. Ho gaya!

Rahul - Kya hogaya?

Muna - Umm.. humne woh.. phool dediye aapki chokri.. I mean... aunty ji ko!

Rahul - What? Kab?

Rahul all of a sudden realized he was definitely not doing his job well today. The kids had left the ward for who knows how long and he had no recollection of it.

Muna - Abhi abhi. Wahan se aa rahe hain.

Rahul - Oh really? And?

Muna - And.. umm..

Rahul - It worked?

Muna - Umm.. has gayi!!

After all she did smile when she received the flowers. Muna just omitted the part about the card and how they stole the flowers and the chocolate.

Rahul sighed with relief and sat back.

Rahul whispered - Has gayi to phas gayi!!

Muna and her girls suddenly became unsettled and their faces turned pale.

Muskaan - Oh really, Dr Rahul?

Rahul had his back turned to the door and he looked at the kids terror filled faces and then his face did the same. He cringed and closed his eyes as he turned around and peeked through by slightly opening one of his eyes.

Muskaan - Zara bahar aa ke baath kar sakthe hain, Dr Rahul?

Rahul - Umm.. of course Dr Muskaan!

The children started screaming pushing each other.. as each of them wanted the prime location right by the door to watch the spectacle.

Muskaan grabs the card.. - Yeh kya hai? Sara din.. mujhe pareshan kar raha hai.

He was surprised at that comment.

Rahul - Pareshan? Hmm.. ok.. tujhe pasand nahin aaya?

Muskaan - Pasand? Kisi aur ke phool dethe hue tujhe sharam nahin aathi? Aur yeh Sonali kaun hai???

Rahul - Sonali kaun?

Muskaan throws the paper at him.

He looks at the paper and then back at the ward and sees Muna shrink away after he gave her a very disappointed look.

Muna stuck out her tongue at Rahul and he opened his eyes wider surprised with the situation he was in.

Rahul sighed and looked back at Muskaans anger filled face and sighed again, knowing he was in for it this time. He immediately looked away from her strong gaze and apologized under his breath.

Rahul mumbled - Sorry!

Muskaan - Kya? Sorry?

Rahul - Haan.. mai

Muskaan cuts him off - Yehi khaddar reh gayi thi. Kis had thak bar gaya hai? Aur woh bhi bachon ko isthimal kar raha hai in bathon mein?

Rahul - Maine..

Muskaan cuts him off again - Chup.. nahin sun na.. Mujhe patha hai tu kya kehna wala hai.. ab tu chup hi reh nahin toh..

Rahul had finally had enough. He didn't like to be threatened. He felt like he was being disciplined in school or by his mother and he did not like it at all especially in front of everyone.

Rahul - Dhant rahi hai jaise meri maa ho. Kya main kuch keh hi nahin saktha? Main chup hoon magar samaj math ke main kuch nahin kahoon ga.

Muskaan - Toh keh na.. keh de jo man ke raha hai.. Mujhe patha hai tu kya kehne wala hai.. tere pe toh barosa hi nahin..

Rahul was going to cut her off because that was all he could take. He did not want her to continue and say something in the moment that she could not take back. But before he could speak another voice from behind her rang through.

Dr Keerti - Dr Muskaan!

Muskaans mouth dropped open and Rahul cringed.

Dr Keerti - Bohot dher se sun rahi hoon aapki bathein. Come to my office right now.

Muskaan trails Dr Keerti to her office. Muskaan looks back at Rahul and puts her hand up as if to slap him. Rahul follows a great distance behind and stands outside trying to read their lips. Muskaan looked upset and like she was trying to explain but Dr Keerti was not taking it. Then all of sudden Muskaan looked astonished as to what Dr K said. And she screamed 'Kya?' which could have been heard down the hall.

Rahul was concerned and intently trying to figure out what was happening in there. It appeared that she was in even more trouble with Dr Keerti and that would not bode well for him at all, especially since this happened bacuse of him. He was going to suck it up and walk in there to explain when he gets paged over head to report STAT to the Peds ward!! He only contemplated for a split second and then turned to run toward the ward.

He runs in completely out of breath and sees that it was a false alarm. Muna was just playing sick laying in the bed with everyone around her bed and starts laughing when he comes in.

Rahul angered - Ok thats it! No more shaytani! Tujhe patha bhi hai ke yahan kitne log sach main beemar hain aur tu yeh... Had ho gayi hai!!

Muna starts feeling sad after getting lectured.

Muna - Par uncle.. aap..

Rahul - No more uncle. Its Dr Rahul. Clear?

Muna finally cowering - Haan.. Dr Rahul...

Rahul - Ab se tere saath ek orderly baithe ga har waqt.

Rahul goes out to find Muskaan again. And so does Muna after stomping on the orderlies foot.

Muna thinks - That was easy!

Rahul goes in the direction of Dr Keertis office as Muna goes the other way and actually finds her first in the cafe by herself looking quite sad.

Muna - Aunty?

Muskaan irritated - Kya hai? Oh toh tum ho.. Kya hua? Ab main 'chokri' nahin hoon?

Muna - Oh woh to maine aise hi.. aunty.. aap naraaz nahin hoiye. Woh phool maine chori kar ke diye the aur aapke boyfriend ko kuch nahin patha tha unke bare main.

Muskaan - You dont have to make excuses for him. Mujhe patha hai woh kaisa hai.

Muna - Nahin kasam se. Is sandwich ki kasam se. Aur mujhe sandwiches bohot pasand hai toh sach ke rahi hoon.

Muskaan took her word for it as it sounded genuine. Now she felt even worse and starts crying. Muna was actually going to try to comfort her but then she spotted Rahul and goes running. Rahul spots Muskaan finally and goes to her.

Rahul - Muskaan?

Muskaan has her head low and did not look up. But Rahul hears her sniffle and he immediately pulls a chair near her and sits down. He wants to put her arm around her but is in doubt of how she would react. With sincere concern he finally resolves to just touching her hand gently which she surprisingly does not pull away from.

Rahul - Kya hua?

No answer.

Rahul - Sorry! Meri waja se Dr. Keerti se dhaant lehni pari.

She takes a deep breath, sniffles and finally looks up at him with her puffy moist eyes and tears streaming down her cheeks. His face drops and he looks at her with all the concern in the world. He is a bit startled when she pounces right into a hug, still sniffling.

Rahul even more concerned now - Kya hua? Batha toh sahi!!

Muskaan whimpers out - Sorry!

Rahuls eyebrows rise in astonishment! She said sorry?

Rahul - Mujhe lagtha hai maine kuch suna nahin. Phirse bolna?

Muskaan - Umm.. sorry!

Rahul - Sorry kyun?

Muskaan - Maine aise tujhpe itna ghussa kiya.

Rahul - Oh.. woh.. its ok. Aadat si par gayi hai.

With that response, she over-dramatically starts crying again.

Rahul - No.. umm.. main to aise hi. Chal, main toh bakhwas karta rehta hoon. Chup ho ja. Itna tamasha aur woh bhi yahan pe acha nahin lag raha.

Muskaan pulls away slightly to give him her threatening glare.

Muskaan - Tamasha? Tujhe tamashe ki pari hai?

He just smiles.

Rahul - Not really but i wanted you to stop the natak filled crying.

She finally smiles at his comment. He knew her too well. She tries to get out of the embrace that she started but he gave resistance.

Muskaan - Ab chod de! Yeh bhi toh tamasha hai na?

Rahul - Haan toh.. tu toh meri pathni hai na?

Muskaan sternly says - Rahul!!! Let me go!!!

Rahul nuzzles by her neck and whispers - Subay se ghussa kar rahi hai. Ab thoda pyar bhi ho jaye.

Muskaan - Haat! Kankajoora kahin ka..

She pinches his side hard which finally causes him to let go.

Rahul - Ouch!

Muskaan face is a mess now that she was crimson red and she had semi moist tears still all over her cheeks which he promptly tried to wipe away only to be swatted away by her.

Muskaan - Kya kar raha hai? Sab dekh rahein hain.

He finally realized where they were. In the cafeteria still with many people watching.

Rahul - Oh.. umm.. toh chalein.

Muskaan - Kahan?

Rahul - Kahin private!

Muskaan - Private aur tere saath? Na.. baba na. Aur waise bhi hum hospital main kaam karne aaye hain. Ghar ja ke sab aur baathein dekhen ge.

Rahul gets intrigued with this comment.

Rahul - Ghar ja ke? Toh abhi chalein..

Muskaan hits him - Rahul, tu bhi na!! Bada besharam hai!!

Looks at her exasperated face and wants to behave.

Rahul - Kya? Ok ok.. toh kya karein?

Muskaan - Khanaa kayein. Badi bhook lag rahi hai.

She orders a bunch of food for them both and they start eating.

Rahul suddenly realizes that she still did not tell him why she was crying to begin with.

Rahul - Toh batha na, kya hua?

She sighs and clearly becomes upset - Oh woh..

Rahul - Batha na? Itna tense kar rahi hai.

Muskaan - woh.. mujhe .. jab yeh night duty finish ho gi ...

Rahul - Toh kya? Aur duty?

Muskaan - Nahin .. woh.. umm.. anger management ke course ke liya bejh rahi hai.

He cracks up laughing and in the process all his drink comes spitting out his mouth.

Rahul stil laughing - Kya?

Muskaan - Haan..

Rahul - You mean counseling?

Muskaan - Haan.. Kya main itni bhoori hoon? Tu bhi toh mujhse itna hi ladta hai!!

Rahul - Nahin.. bilkul nahin. Tu hi toh shuru karthi hai.

Muskaan getting angry - Haw! Main? Ab tu hi toh mujhe shuru kar raha hai.

Rahul - Dekha. Phir se ghussa. Tujhe yeh classes chaiye. Maybe tab tujhe apne husband pe taras aayega.

She looks down sadly.

Rahul - Ok.. dekh main bhi toh jaoonga tere saath na.

Muskaan - Kya? Tu kyun?

Rahul - Of course tu ja bhi hogi main bhi tere saath.

That does calm her down a little but she was still not happy.
