A Mistrusted Trust
Prologue
Trust... a short, one syllable word is so easily said at times but hardly understood the meaning of. What do you expect from a person when you say the three words, blindly, "I trust you!"? What more can you expect than just a smile of assurance which tells you that you can rely on them? Why is this small word...so weird? It's so hard to gain, yet easier to loose? This little word can either leave a person satisfied on the inside or just tear apart their soul once it changes itself into mistrust.
She sat down infront of the long, oval shaped mirror and stared at her own reflection. Who was it? She didn't seem to recognize herself for the first time. She took out her shaking hand and brought it closer to the mirror. "Who are you?", she said out loud, touching the cold surface of the mirror. A tear rolled down her pale cheek but she wiped it harshly. "Who are you anyways?", she mocked realizing the bitter truth. Who was she? A NO ONE! She was nothing to anyone! Nothing! A voice shouted inside her as reality downcasted upon her. She fell to the ground and hugged her knees, crying silently.
He drove aimlessly through the dark streets, unaware of his surroundings. His hands reached to apply the break unconsciously as he recognized the sight infront of him. Sighing loudly, he loosened his tie and fell back on his seat. It was the most peaceful place he has ever been to...his only favourite destination. The moonlight sparkled over the lake's surface, making it glow like specks of diamonds. He closed his eyes as he felt the damp breeze touch his cheeks. The lone drop of tear silently escaped his eye, as he allowed it to fall. He missed them...but they might never come back, never!
