Rex plans to now
formally learn music
He may not have won the Fame Jodi, but Rex D'souza has certainly won over many hearts and offers to perform. Post Fame Gurukul, Rex's popularity has sent several organisers his way with requests to perform at shows.
"I am flooded with offers to perform. But I am forwarding all of them to Sony. I can only perform at shows through the channel," says this singer, who shifted to DN Nagar from Malvani five years ago.
Rex is now planning to concentrate on stage shows. "Sony has promised to arrange several stage shows for me. In fact, I had a show in Ahmedabad two days ago where I performed with Abhijeet Sawant," he says.
Apart from stage shows, Rex says his other priority is 'learning music and he insists that he is not joking.
"I am actually an amateur singer. I used to sing at parties and weddings. Then I joined the Railways' band and Johny Lever's troupe. But I intend to make a formal start by learning the basics of music and then progress to the next level. The next level could be classical singing or any other music," says Rex.
Talking about his experience as part of Fame Gurukul, he says, "I have always been a practical person. But Fame Gurukul taught me a lesson: you must be more than smart and never let your emotional side take over. You must be able to crack any obstacle."
But the most important goal Rex has set for him is to "perform well and sustain the fame".
