MONICA AFTER VOTED OUT:

Monica bids adieu to Fame Gurukul!

It's difficult enough to see your dreams being shattered, but perhaps it is doubly so when your one great chance to attain instant fame is abruptly stalled. This is exactly what happened with Monica Gadgil, who was voted out by her fellow participants last night.

Monica Gadgil: the end of a journey...but still a long way to go!

Here is what she had to say about life after Fame Gurukul --

On missing her friends-
I am going to really miss them. I had so much fun being with them. It was a short time, I know, but it was precious

On Fame Gurukul-
Life will go on. It was just that I was hoping that I would stay in the Gurukul for some more time. I was learning a lot of things and it will always be important to me.

On life after Fame Gurukul-
I am trained in classical music, now I want to learn the other genres of music so that I become a complete singer.I am going to of course concentrate on playback singing.

While she is talking to us, we know that she is close to tears. Inside, we could here the other contestants having their lunch and relaxing and we quickly wrap things up.

And as we prepare to leave, we know that this is the Monica we will always remember -- sitting in a room, contemplating her future...knowing, that for her, this journey to fame...ends here!

NOW SOME JODIES:

Qazi and Sandeep: Superstars in the making?

Fame Jodi is what each one of the remaining contestants of Fame Gurukul aspires to be..but wait on they have other plans at the back of their mind as well. While Qazi Tauqeer would like to become a 'superstar', Sandeep Batra would like to become a playback singer. Qazi travelled from Srinagar to Mumbai and became a hot favourite with the Indian audience in no time and Sandeep got a chance to enter the Gurukul just when it was ready for the much thought about twist in the Fame Gurukul tale.

Kavita Shyam went into the sets of Fame Gurukul to have a heart to heart chat with the two of them..

Padma Wadkar with Qazi
Tell us about your experience with Fame Gurukul so far?
Qazi: I came a long way from Srinagar just to make it big. It is simply unbelievable how an untrained singer like me could come so far in the competition. I have been saved eight times by the Indian jaanta because jaan lagake perform karta hoon and I know I have it in me to make it to the top.
Sandeep: This has been a great platform to learn and unlearn my knowledge as far as music is concerned. Being in Fame Gurukul needs immense amount of dedication and is not a child's play for sure.

What do you have to say about the tough competition on between all you guys?
Qazi:
I take no tensions and believe in myself completely. I work hard on my singing and perform with a lot of passion. I do my best and leave the rest on the judges, audience andAlmighty.
Sandeep:
We are monitored through out the day and have to constantly try to give our best shot. People don't understand what we go through,we hardly sleep at times and they think we are here to just perform and enjoy ourselves. What goes behind all the performance is sheer hard work.

Are you conscious of the camera which is on for u all 24/7?

Qazi:I am very natural in front of the camera and don't over act or anything of that sort. I like performing and being in front of the camera.
Sandeep:I just try to be myself and am not at all camera conscious. Besides my confidencelevel has gone up.

We are a family???

What changes do you see in yourself after joining Fame Gurukul?
Qazi:When we go out at times, I get to see how much people really like me when they start shouting out my name.
Sandeep:
My confidence level has increased manifold and I am thoroughly enjoying my rehearsals, choreo-sessions, recording and the works .My personality has undergone a sea change and trying o better myself.

What do you feel about the judges and the faculty members and the contestants voting out their competitors?
Qazi:The judges have always been fair to all of us and the faculty has trained us to become something big someday. How I perform now is a result of what I have learned from each one of the teachers and the remarks of the judges. I vote for the contestants purely on the basis of their performance and friendship and other such things don't work for me here. I prefer to stay out of the politics anywhere. When the judges fight over a contestant it really bothers me.
(with a grin which the entire janta seems to be smitten with)
Sandeep: The judges and the faculty members have all been so supportive, I am thankful to all. I think the contestants vote intelligently without any biasness.

Given a chance whom would you like to be a Fame Jodi with?

Qazi: The surprise package that has taken the country by storm

Qazi: Well,it keeps varying but maybe Rex.
Sandeep::-I think I would like to be paired with Arijit but I also get along famously with Rex and Qazi.

If you don't make it to the Fame Gurukul as a Fame Jodi where do you go from here?
Qazi:
I would like to become a Superstar. I have always wanted to become an actor and become well-known. But for now I'd like believe that I am here to stay in Fame Gurukul.
Sandeep: I aspire to become a playback singer and make it big in Mumbai in the future.

Rex and Arijit: On Love and Life and Fame!

Sleep, homemade food, telephone calls…these are a few of their favourite things!

Rex and Arijit: Let's see who's better!

No. I am not talking about aliens from outer space…I am talking about the life and times of perhaps the most sought after performers on telly today! They have turned overnight from being the boys next door to men who are celebrities in their own right. Life, for them could not take a sweeter turn…but there are things that they yearn for…moments that they are denied…moments that have made them stronger. Ananya Sengupta met up with Fame Gurukul's awesome twosome, Rex D'Souza and Arijit Singh..and here is what they have to say!

What do you miss the most when you are here?
Rex: Sleeeeep! We have to get up early to be ready for practice. (They exchange a look that can be only deciphered as 'let's run away from here and go to sleep!' look). We try to take naps in between the sessions…as we sleep for five to six hours as they wake us up early!
Arijit: Yes, it's called a catnap! You should sleep for 15 minutes…and when your turn comes…rub your eyes and off you go! (They burst out laughing)
Rex: I also miss food…home made food! Specially non-veg - because it was Ganapati, they didn't serve non-veg for some days…but since I was the top student I was allowed to go home…and I ate chicken then.

(He says smacking his lips and giving that "you missed it" look towards Arijit, who takes the bait and accuses him of not getting some back for him. Rex retaliates by pointing out, "arre mujhe khud ko aur chahiye tha!

Together We Stand...

Arijit: I miss fish!

So are you a Bengali, Arijit?
Arijit:
Yes, I am…
Rex:
But you are a Singh!
Arijit: So what?
Rex: Even I like fish…
(…and the giggles continue….)

Tell me aren't you missing your girlfriends?
Rex: I have broken up…but Arijit misses his girlfriend too much…

So you don't miss her…
Rex: No, No I do…we know about each other's feelings, but since we belong to different castes, her mother is not very happy about this…I miss her…I talk to her when I am allowed to!
Arijit: I miss her very much (he says this with a forlorn look on his face and Rex starts to laugh)

Do you keep her photograph...
(Arijit just smiles and I presume, that he does)
There was an unpleasant incident that happened last week…
Rex: Yes, it was, but nothing is deliberate…we feel bad each time we have to vote friends out…I never liked it…
Arijit: I hate to do it, but it has to be done. This week has been the worst time of my life! It was a miscalculation on my part. I never thought Shamit bhaiyya will be voted out….and in the final instance, I would have lost all credibility if I had changed my opinion…we shouldn't be forced to vote…

Friends forever!

Ok…let's talk about you celebrity status…you people are big…
Arijit: I don't know about myself…but Rex is definitely BIG!
(They have a good laugh over this comment) But, frankly, I feel it only when we go out of Gurukul, and once we are in it's ordinary life again! I don't think we are celebs…
Rex: Me too! We can't walk or talk like celebrities…although people have started to recognize us…if they blow me a kiss…then I do the same…it's fun…but that's about it!

Both of you are major cry babies…
(Rex laughs out loud and so does Arijit)
Rex: All those who have left the Gurukul were friends, some of tjhem were very special, and I will never forget them...
Arijit: Mee too….

What after Fame Gurukul?
Arijit: I want to become a music director!
Rex: I want to learn classical music from Prashant sir and Padma mam…I want to learn the nuances of music!

(Both the guys then, are called for the shoot, and as they pose for a quick snap, I wish them best of luck…and hope that they come out winners all the way!

Arpita and Ruprekha: Bong brigade in Fame Gurukul!

These Bong beauties have mowed down all competition….and regardless of the outcome of the show, both of them are definitely here to stay! Ananya Sengupta met up with the two ladies in Fame Gurukul to find out what they are up to!

Arpita: mirror mirror on the wall...tell me all!

What is the one thing that you miss being away from home…
Arpita: Fish curry! Friends and my family
Ruprekha: Fish! My parents had come down…but they couldn't get any food in…it's not allowed you know!

(Ruprekha, who has reduced considerably since she joined Gurukul, looked ravishing in an orange salwar suit)

So do people recognize you in your hometowns?
Arpita: They have started recognising us in the streets….
Ruprekha: In my locality in Kolkatta, people have put up screens to watch my performance. You know, whatever happens here, good or bad, it will be common knowledge for all!

(Both are a little worried as their hairs are being done and both complain that the knots are too tight and are hurting them)

Nowadays, it is important that you not only sing well, but look good as well….

Ruprekha: sing me a song?

Arpita: It is a wholesome package! It doesn't harm anybody to look good!
Ruprekha: And it feels nice when you look good! When we are on our own, we hardly take all this trouble!

One by one all your friends are leaving…any insecurities creeping in?
Arpita: That is what will happen in the show…we knew this before we started doing the show…I feel bad losing them, but you see, this is a competition and we have to draw a line between friendship and rivalry…
Ruprekha: It is sad, but what can we do! We have to vote friends out…that is all that there is…

(It's difficult to talk to them as they are being ushered in and out of the room by desperate floor managers and executive producers and we realize that the show must go on…and we will only be in he way! But we manage to squeeze in one more query)

So if you don't be part of Fame jodi…what's next?
Arpita: I want to do playback singing! Always! I am hoping that people have seen me perform and I will get work!
Ruprekha: I am not sure, but I might move to Mumbai!

HOPE U ALL GUYS LIKE IT....

sorry if posted again...
