| Sleep, homemade food, telephone calls…these are a few of their favourite things!
Rex and Arijit: Let's see who's better! | No. I am not talking about aliens from outer space…I am talking about the life and times of perhaps the most sought after performers on telly today! They have turned overnight from being the boys next door to men who are celebrities in their own right. Life, for them could not take a sweeter turn…but there are things that they yearn for…moments that they are denied…moments that have made them stronger. Ananya Sengupta met up with Fame Gurukul's awesome twosome, Rex D'Souza and Arijit Singh..and here is what they have to say! What do you miss the most when you are here? Rex: Sleeeeep! We have to get up early to be ready for practice. (They exchange a look that can be only deciphered as 'let's run away from here and go to sleep!' look). We try to take naps in between the sessions…as we sleep for five to six hours as they wake us up early! Arijit: Yes, it's called a catnap! You should sleep for 15 minutes…and when your turn comes…rub your eyes and off you go! (They burst out laughing) Rex: I also miss food…home made food! Specially non-veg - because it was Ganapati, they didn't serve non-veg for some days…but since I was the top student I was allowed to go home…and I ate chicken then. (He says smacking his lips and giving that "you missed it" look towards Arijit, who takes the bait and accuses him of not getting some back for him. Rex retaliates by pointing out, "arre mujhe khud ko aur chahiye tha! Arijit: I miss fish!
So are you a Bengali, Arijit? Arijit: Yes, I am… Rex: But you are a Singh! Arijit: So what? Rex: Even I like fish… (…and the giggles continue….)
Tell me aren't you missing your girlfriends? Rex: I have broken up…but Arijit misses his girlfriend too much… So you don't miss her… Rex: No, No I do…we know about each other's feelings, but since we belong to different castes, her mother is not very happy about this…I miss her…I talk to her when I am allowed to! Arijit: I miss her very much (he says this with a forlorn look on his face and Rex starts to laugh) Do you keep her photograph... (Arijit just smiles and I presume, that he does) There was an unpleasant incident that happened last week… Rex: Yes, it was, but nothing is deliberate…we feel bad each time we have to vote friends out…I never liked it… Arijit: I hate to do it, but it has to be done. This week has been the worst time of my life! It was a miscalculation on my part. I never thought Shamit bhaiyya will be voted out….and in the final instance, I would have lost all credibility if I had changed my opinion…we shouldn't be forced to vote… Ok…let's talk about you celebrity status…you people are big… Arijit: I don't know about myself…but Rex is definitely BIG! (They have a good laugh over this comment) But, frankly, I feel it only when we go out of Gurukul, and once we are in it's ordinary life again! I don't think we are celebs… Rex: Me too! We can't walk or talk like celebrities…although people have started to recognize us…if they blow me a kiss…then I do the same…it's fun…but that's about it! Both of you are major cry babies… (Rex laughs out loud and so does Arijit) Rex: All those who have left the Gurukul were friends, some of tjhem were very special, and I will never forget them... Arijit: Mee too….
What after Fame Gurukul? Arijit: I want to become a music director! Rex: I want to learn classical music from Prashant sir and Padma mam…I want to learn the nuances of music! (Both the guys then, are called for the shoot, and as they pose for a quick snap, I wish them best of luck…and hope that they come out winners all the way! Arpita and Ruprekha: Bong brigade in Fame Gurukul! |
| These Bong beauties have mowed down all competition….and regardless of the outcome of the show, both of them are definitely here to stay! Ananya Sengupta met up with the two ladies in Fame Gurukul to find out what they are up to! Arpita: mirror mirror on the wall...tell me all!
| What is the one thing that you miss being away from home… Arpita: Fish curry! Friends and my family Ruprekha: Fish! My parents had come down…but they couldn't get any food in…it's not allowed you know! (Ruprekha, who has reduced considerably since she joined Gurukul, looked ravishing in an orange salwar suit) So do people recognize you in your hometowns? Arpita: They have started recognising us in the streets…. Ruprekha: In my locality in Kolkatta, people have put up screens to watch my performance. You know, whatever happens here, good or bad, it will be common knowledge for all! (Both are a little worried as their hairs are being done and both complain that the knots are too tight and are hurting them) Nowadays, it is important that you not only sing well, but look good as well…. Ruprekha: sing me a song?
| Arpita: It is a wholesome package! It doesn't harm anybody to look good! Ruprekha: And it feels nice when you look good! When we are on our own, we hardly take all this trouble! One by one all your friends are leaving…any insecurities creeping in? Arpita: That is what will happen in the show…we knew this before we started doing the show…I feel bad losing them, but you see, this is a competition and we have to draw a line between friendship and rivalry… Ruprekha: It is sad, but what can we do! We have to vote friends out…that is all that there is… (It's difficult to talk to them as they are being ushered in and out of the room by desperate floor managers and executive producers and we realize that the show must go on…and we will only be in he way! But we manage to squeeze in one more query) So if you don't be part of Fame jodi…what's next? Arpita: I want to do playback singing! Always! I am hoping that people have seen me perform and I will get work! Ruprekha: I am not sure, but I might move to Mumbai!
| HOPE U ALL GUYS LIKE IT.... sorry if posted again...
