Gurukul judges battle over favourite contestant

This is not the first time that judges have been at loggerheads over a contestant in a talent show. Earlier, Ismail Darbar and Adesh Shrivastava battled each other on Zee's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Now, Ila Arun and Javed Akhtar are at loggerheads over a contestant on Sony's Fame Gurukul.

The youngster in question is Gurukul student Shamit Tyagi. Confirming news of her fall-out with Akhtar, Ila says, "I have been having arguments with Javed saab. We are sitting here to judge talent. The students at the Gurukul are not related to either of us.

This is a responsibility that we have to take seriously. We cannot let personal likes or dislikes mar our judgement."

According to Ila, Akhtar never approved of Shamit and always discouraged him. "Our opinions don't match at all! I feel Javed saab always tries to go against my judgement.
