As much as i cant stand arpita and rex, they still had valid points like why has qazi always performed with the same genre of songs?! he's never sung any hard songs that arijit or shamit have or even rex. every song qazi has sung has been of same genre and his songs were always easy and he never had to stretch his voice or sing a song in another language. i agree with arpita on only one point... IF QAZI CAN SING A SONG LIKE AASHIQ BANAYA APNE THAT ARIJIT SANG OR KAWA KAWA THAT SHAMIT SANG THEN I WOULD BELIEVE TOO THAT QAZI IS AN AWESOME SINGER who agrees with this?
mistletoe replies:
There are many singers who cannot sing all kind of songs, but that doesnt' make them any lesser than the one who can sing all kind of songs!
Take for example, Kunal Ganjawala...he sings the same kind of songs, the peppy numbers, but still his songs are a rage, right from Bheege Hote Tere to Salaam Namaste!
Even a really good singer like Shaan has his repotiere, he can sing only certain types of songs, the fun, romantic numbers, but he excels in that!
I find all of Adnan Sami's songs exactly similar, be it Tera Chehra, or Mahiya or the song he sung in Lucky......yet his voice is extremely powerful and unique.
Come to think of it, even the Nightingale of India, the great Lata Mangeshwar has never attempted a Cabre song, or a fast-paced Punjabi Wedding song......yet she is celebrated to be one of the greatest voices ever heard!
Versatality doesn't necessarily translate into good voice as well! Arpita could sing a number of songs, but her voice was devoid of any emotion and feel....she only had technique, no soul. Same with Rex, he has an amazing voice, but I personally feel, that his songs do not touch your heart...apart from Qazi, it is only Ruprekha who sings with her heart....her rendition of Chandini Ratein could bring tears to anyone's eyes...it was a flawless performance!
Hence, I fully agree that although Qazi can probably not sings songs like Kawa Kawa, but then no one can sing, Yeh Tara Woh Tara, the way Qazi sang it!
My two bits!

What is the definition of a hard song???
You mean to say that, if Sonu Nigam sings a song like ''Tanhaaye'' from DCH, it makes him a better singer than Shaan who sang ''Woh ladki hai kahan'' from the same movie???
Or similarly if Udit Narayan sang ''Yeh Tara'' from Swades, does it make him a better singer than the guy (can't remember his name)who sang ''Dholi Taro'' from HDDCS?
A song is not hard or soft, easy or difficult, it the voice quality that lends itself to it, that makes all the difference! A good song can be badly sung and a bad song can be well sung!
Everyone keeps saying that Qazi doesn't deserve to be where he is, why do they forget, that there must have been something special in this individual to have made it to the Top 14 in Gurukul, without Audience Vote or Public Adoration, which only began later!
On what basis did the Judges, the Faculty or the Channel chose Qazi to be in the top 14 students of Gurukul, if they think that he is not worth it????
A Diamond is after all a piece of charcoal, before it gets its due value! Qazi has the inherent talent and ability in him to make it very big in life and that is why he is where he is today......he might not be the best singer in Fame Gurukul, but I would say that he has the maximum potential to reach the heights of fame tomorrow. None of the other contestants possess his will, his charisma or his determination! Even Ruprekha will only achieve limited fame, it is only Qazi who seems to have a really bright future!
All the celebrity judges who have come to Gurukul till date have commented very favourable on Qazi...Sonu Nigam who is quite unbiased and fair in his judgement (as he was in Indian Idol) was clearly impressed with Qazi...John and Bipasha were completely bowled over by him...Usha Uthup remembered him from his peformance in Srinagar long before FG happened...Shreya Ghoshal admitted to having voted for him, Alisha Chinoy was charmed off her feet by him and Uday Chopra told him that he would take tips from him for his next film! Someone like Mahesh Bhatt who cannot put in a good word for anyone spoke brightly about Qazi....Anand Raj Anand thought that Qazi has the best expressions in his voice and it sounds excellent in recording!
How can so many successful people be wrong about one person???????????????? Even the judges are now clearly in favour of Qazi....about the faculty....who had even heard of Padma Wadekar and Flower-shirt Prashant before???? On what basis do they comment on Qazi's singing abilities, when their names have not even figured in Media before????
Think for yourself, all anti-qazi people!
Cheers,
