Filmi guy
New role: Ravi Gosain is one excited gentleman these days. The name rings a bell, right? He is apnaNigoda of Amanat which people surely haven't forgotten — fortunately or unfortunately for the actor. His movie, called The Film hit theatres recently. He has an interesting role in it. The Film is the story of a bunch of strugglers trying to make it in Bollywood. It's after a long gap that Gosain is seen in a film though you can't forget his performance in Maachis. We hear there is also a Kalpana Lajmi film in which he's got a good part.
More Shakti?
Missing: Mukesh Khanna, our original Indian super hero, Shaktimaan is in the news these days. He lent his voice to the animation film Hanuman. He really does have a deep, sonorous voice. Oh by the way, in The Film, we saw Khanna playing a police officer.
TV khiladi
Movie times: Another film which was released, recently, saw a number of TV actors with good roles. That was Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena. Rohit Roy made an appearance and also jiggled along with Fardeen in a song. Very nice. Kay Kay (Pradhan Mantri) plays one of the main roles. Mukul Dev is also in the film, after a long gap. From films he came to television and he's back on celluloid.
Small is beautiful
Poor show: There were all the right ingredients—a fancy stage, a medley of romantic songs, but the chemistry between Rajeev Khandelwal and Aamna Sharif seemed to have fizzled out. Also Shama Sikander looked most uncomfortable dancing with Eijaz Khan in close confines.
The unexpected hit of the evening was Karishma Tanna and Manasi Verma's sizzling item number, Anhkiyan Na Maar.
