mein calcutta mein 7 saal thee. Had to communicate wth the patients there. so know some. Can understand 75 % bengla, My hubby is from orissa. And iam punjabi

My wife knows the trick of communicating in Oriya. She says you have to use the same Bengali words but the tone has to be affectionate, as though to a child.

And it worked for us too. On a trip to Puri/Konarak.

😆😆, i think bengla is a softer language then oriya. my hubby will hear this , will kill me
