yes, he was in II 1, but unfortunately couldn't make it to the top 30.

i haven't heard of any album yet

Here's the full story:

Shamit and his family were all initially in Ghaziabad. Shamit completed his graduation in Commerce from Kirori Mal college. He was part of the college's music society called MUSOC.

Shamit worked for quite a few BPOs initially and then decided to move to Mumbai to pursue a career in singing (before he left for Mumbai he was working with the BPO of GE). In Mumbai, he again joined a BPO and within a year became a tech. lead. Meanwhile, whatever time he was getting in Mumbai, he would sing/record jingles, small albums. He would visit various music directors. He decieded to call his mom to come and stay with him in Mumbai.

It was during the auditions of FG and SAREGAMA that he decided to quit his job and appear for the auditions. He got selected & decided to go for FG.

Sumana is still in Delhi. Except for Shamit and his mother, others are staying in Ghaziabad. His mom came back to Ghaziabad when Shamit went for FG. His whole family is in Delhi--his cousins, grandfather, grandmother, chacha and chachi.

Sumana who is still based in Delhi joined KMC for her graduation in Political Science. Since Sumana was always interested in music and herself an extremely good singer (she was the runners up in SAREGAMA Finals and also participated in SAREGAMA Mega Finals) also joined MUSOC and they were drawn towards each other because of each other's music talent.
I donno bout any mariage plans as yet...bt, i believe thy're verbally engaged.

Shamu & Arijit r best buddies jus like b4. Thy've decided to forget it all & move on...
