Fame Gurukul - What a joke!!!!

I started watching FG since its first show a long time ago and have been watching it since. I also watch Sa Re Ga Ma and can't but help compare the quality of performances (singing talent, of course). Watching Quazi get saved by the public time and again makes me puke. He has no singing talent, he thinks he is a great performer but he is all show, and most importantly, he is lazy. I have never seen him practice on his own. He is always bullshitting and making stupid comments.

What a difference there is between Sa Re Ga and FG. FG is all about hype and marketing. Is that what we should expect from a talent spotting show such as FG?

Would like to hear other viewers' comments on this.

Forget who he or she wud vote for, Im still wondering what that he or she is doing on the forum if that he or she thinks Fame Gurukul is a joke. Your life must be a worse joke than that if ur actually commenting on a show you don't like.. Find something better to do with ur time

I am the most avid watcher of Fame Gurukul. As I watch every episode 2-3 times! and I am hooked on to it for various reasons!!
1. It is a programme which is very real and reaches to the majority of people! I am a music lover and boast of a huge collection of CD and videos, But listning and watching the same old singing contests where singers strain themselves to keep their "surs" in place I used to get bored and used to think it is better to listen rather watch!! FG provided a complete package and an overall entertainment with performances et all!I have not watched Sa re ga ma even once since then! Watching those Music directors fight Makes me Puke!

2. In Fg the struggle of underrated singers to prove them selves and improving with every episode and giving mind boggling performances made me happy!As it is more real rather than watching some already trained singers compete with each other again and again! It is so boring as you know all sing well and there is no expectation and eagerness left in watching!!
3. The program FG is much better presented program with a definite class and style which Sa Re Ga Ma Lack!!
4. Sa re ga ma is the same old program where the same competition between singers in a monotonous way has become probably too much of a good thing for too long!!
we as audiences want change and want people who are like us going and competeing and not trained singers ! Haven't we had enough of this cut throat competition in life already Where nothing natural is ever appreciated?
5. Moreover life consists of much more than sheer talent and "surs"!In todays age people want to listen to songs which are different and give them instant satisfaction not only in listening but also in watching!!These days no one has got time to sit down and concentrate on "surs" only and apprecaite the finer points! these days what pleases is what is liked! and FG has made us happy with the program which has not only given chance to some not so trainrd singers but also projected that " YOU NEED TO HAVE AN ATTITUDE TO BE SUCCESS FUL IN LIFE ONLY TALENT TAKE YOU NO WHERE!!" I like the program becoz it appeals to the masses and only to those few orthodox fixed idea people who think that you have to be a particular way to be a success!
7. If You do not want to see FG then I am sorry to say you are in a minority! You are one of those people who are old fashioned and have fixed ideas about things and do not look for change!!
8. I AM A QAZI TOUKEER FAN! I have watched sa re ga ma pa earlier regularly but now I realisi that How boring and listless it was! and how much joy I and happiness I have achieved in Watching Qazi Grow and become a better singer! He is like my son to me Now!! No performances of sa re ga ma pa has moved me as much as Qazi's Performances in-- "yeh tara ", Oo Jana Jana" Saamne yeh,
Pyaar to hona hi tha, Bheege honth Tere, Phir bhi Dil Hai Hidustani, Bus mere yar hai, Yeh ladki kyun etc etc etc come readily to mind!! The kid is mind boggling and a breath of fresh air!!Ha sbecome role model for my students and children ! FG HAS REALLY BEEN A REALITY SHOW WITH A DIFFERECE! JUST LIKE QAZI!!
POST SCRIPT- Orthodox, boring, fixed idea, dull people
can go find some orthodox , boring, fixed idea and dull musical program for them selves ! FG as my kids say is for "Rockers"!

msohoni, I have a few points, I would like to put forth as arguments....though I basically agree that Saregama is a better show......

FYI, if Saregama has been coming for 12 years....and the singing talent is so great......how many of them have got a break?????? Don't mention Ganjawala.....take an average......no. of episodes/no. of singers....how many have made it????????? If you can name 5-10...then the overall percentage is miniscule......

The world revolves around media hypes...... due to Sony's marketing efforts...... atleast 4-5 of the Indian Idol finalists are constantly in the public eye - on their channel.....the top 3 did record their own albums.... Abhijeet Sawant did get a song in Aashiq Banaya Apne....

Saregama may be the better talent search....with better singers.....but, I do believe that with the exposure that the FG students have got...... they will go higher... Its all about presentation and exposure.... I would bet my eye teeth that any Saregama contestant would more than gladly trade places with an FG student...

Sa re ga ma is good program for singers who are trained singers if a normal person like qazi cannot enter the program. But Fame gurukul and Indian Idol help them to develop their overall perfomance, not only singing.
