ACtually I am a Qazi fan but I also don't think that being hateful towards non-QAZI supporters is fair. I f someone likes Rex or Arpita that is OK. Just like many Qazi fans do dnot like Arpita, Arpita fans do not have to like Qazi.

I am not against the public that does not support Qazi. I am however, against the faculty for playing silly games that obviously make Qazi look and feel bad. They should be above this and be as impartial as possible. Their job is to educate al fairly.

But as far the members go, everyone has a right to their opinion. I think Qazi is great and I hope he wins. But you don't have to like him and that is fine with me.

You said it ,Rolm. But, I think we all agree that we consider ourselves as a part of the IF family. And, we owe a moral responsibility towards each other to point out undesirable elements in their dialogue ,so that they incorporate it in their dealings in future. This could be a good learning experience for all of us; I am also guilty of making biased statements at times and have been put in my place by the others; I am grateful for that.

Sadhana -- The problem is that many of the fans here do not wish to hear anything negative about the contestant they support. They do not seem to understand that the purpose of a medium such as this is to promote dialogue and healthy debate (including opposing points that might not be in line with your views). However, some Quazi fans (not all of them) want to hijack this forum to shamelessly promote only one point of view.

Nightingale -- I agree with you. However, I will have to disagree with you about the faculty comment somewhat. I believe that the faculty problem started with Ila when she saved Qazi because she wanted to "fulfill his dream". That is not a good criteria. The faculty should have one and only one criteria, that being who performed the best. She clearly did not do that. And when she was asked for her reasons, she because defensive and combative. She makes arbitrary decisions and this has naturally caused dissention and discontent amongst the other faculty members. They have seen illogical decisions coming out of the headmistress and have reacted accordingly.

Sadhana -- There is nothing wrong with biased opinions (Opinions are by defintion biased). However, if you have an opinion, you must back it with logic. Make a logical and persuasive argument to support your point of view. That is all I ask.

I am actually talking about the games that Padma and Prashant played with the contestants. They have been belligerent in trying to demean Qazi. They all know, in fact the whole world knows what the contestants think of Qazi. Why ask them to be so vocal about it. Everyone with any brain could guess how humiliating it wuld be for Qazi. I am not at all against t heir conversation with Ila Mam about her selecting Qazi. They have a right to ask and she has a right to her decision.

But anyways, I hope that from here on everything will be done fairly. The public should get to vote for their favorite, not SONY or some rich people who want to get their fav contestant in.

Nightingale -- I think that it's fair game to ask contestants how they feel about each other. It makes for good drama and I think it's important for everyone to know what their peers think of them. I think others resent Quazi (and it's only natural) because they feel he's lacking in talent but is getting multiple opportunities due to the people's verdict. They don't have to like it but they DO have to live with it. Qazi keeps saying he keeps trying and wants to keep improving. Well, that is not what the contest is about. The contest is about who is the best at 3 thinngs (in this order) Singing, Performance and connection with the audience. Quazi has proven that he is good at the last two. The other contestants feel that the first criteria should have more weight. They are frustrated that the voting public doesn't seem to be doing that.
