I think more than bitterness or anything else, he lacks the confidence that Anjali has what it takes to complete the mission. For him, this is an unnecessary risk since it's obvious she won't succeed. And of course, the fact that they lied to him about him makes him even more furious. Kind of sad how everyone is so proud of HIS daughter, how SHE is making national headlines but he refuses to budge from his view of her being an 'ordinary girl'. Well, at least her world doesn't revolve around her father anymore which itself is sad in a way but well, can't help if he doesn't melt. She tried her best to be 'worthy' enough. But I guess nothing beats the XY chromosome for some people.
